Sometimes the life you planned isn’t the one you get to live.  Sometimes the pain of the past overshadows the future.  And sometimes to start over you have to go back to where it all began.  That’s how it was for Joe Masters.  That’s how he ended up back in New Hope.  And that’s why he was in his thirties and had nothing to show for his life.  He needed a complete overhaul, just like his father’s old house.  Instead of a fast track, he had slowed down and was on a ten year plan.  These days that was more his speed.  And as much as he tried to fight the inevitable, he was learning to accept and surrender.
Martha had weathered her fair share of storms in Vermont, was accustomed to the cold, both the chill in the air and the cold shoulder in her marriage, but after the miscarriage she felt like she would never get warm again.  So she did the research from the laptop while sitting in front of the fireplace.  She knew what she needed when she Googled hope, she just never imagined that it would bring her to New Hope, South Carolina.  She never imagined that her husband would trick her into leaving and never follow.  She never imagined that a southern storm with all its force and fury could be so destructive.  But after the storm, the land is washed clean.  It’s perfect for a fresh start, a clean slate, and a new love.

 My Interview with Marti

So since I don’t go south very often I decided that it would be the perfect time to head south to New Hope to visit with Marti from Stormy Surrender… Maybe I’ll even get a peek at that handsome man of hers…

I arrived at Hope House mid-afternoon and met Keely.  She was just a warm and inviting as I had expected.  She showed me to my room and said that she would have dinner ready for Marti and I at five o’clock.  I asked her if Joe was around with a wink but she said no, he was working on the house.  Oh well… maybe I can convince Marti to take me there later… hehehe…

A few minutes before five I make my way downstairs as the front door opens, I immediately see Marti walking in the door.

J: Hello Marti, I’m Jennifer it’s so nice to finally meet you. (I reach for her hand)

M: Nice to meet you, too, Jennifer.  I hope you didn’t have to wait long.  I seem to get caught up in things over at the house.

J: Shall we go sit down, Keely said she would be ready right at five.  She’s so sweet and funny just as I had imagined.

M: Keely was the first person I met in town and she has fast become a friend.  I absolutely adore her!

J: I’m so excited to talk with you about the story and how things are going now and what is to come… I feel like I already know so much about you.

M: (chuckling) Well, you kind of do.

We are briefly interrupted by Keely delivering our dinner and we both pause to thank her.

J: So I want to start at the beginning.  First that husband of yours is a real piece of work.  I don’t know how you did it for as long as you had.  Did you believe that was the way things should be in a relationship?

M: No. I thought he was just caught up in his career and that things would get better if I was just patient.  I was never a demanding wife.  I kept busy with volunteer work.  It wasn’t until I needed him that I realized just where we stood.  Let’s chalk it up to a learning experience.

J: Has he tried to contact you since you left Vermont with your stuff?

M: No. We are pretty much leaving that up to the lawyers now.  There isn’t much left for us to say.  In retrospect, it’s probably best that we didn’t have children.

J: Moving here was the BEST thing that you did, do you have any regrets at all?

M: A few.  I wish I had made a career for myself to fall back on instead of making myself always readily available to support him in whatever respect he needed at the time.  I wish I had known he wasn’t coming down; or that I had thought to stash away money over the years.  Otherwise, I think life is playing out as it should.

J: When you first met Joe, and actually right here in the room if I am not mistaken, what was your first thought about him?

M: Honestly, he was so…abrasive.  And yet something in me recognized something in him.  I think I mentioned that our touch…it just felt like home. (blushes a little)

J: I have to say that he is totally swoon worth… Is he coming by (I wink at her)

M: He might.  He can be a bit unpredictable.

J: I see you are wearing your charm bracelet have you gotten any new ones lately? I have to admit that I melted when he started giving you the charms to mark different occasions…

M:  Would you believe that they don’t make a ‘sorry my ex turned out to be my insurance adjuster’ charm?  There’s a whole market there just waiting to be tapped.  (rolls eyes)

J: Did you ever think that you and Joe would get along as well as you do after the rocky start you had?  He was quite arrogant at times… Specifically when you’d be sitting in what he considered his seat… (I laugh thinking back to their encounters here and at the café)

M: I’m not sure we really get along even now.  That is a part of us.  He can be arrogant and vain and frustrating.  He always thinks he’s right, and sometimes he is, but sometimes he’s just being a jerk.  (she smiles widely)  And yet, I love fighting with him.  I love playing with him.  I love being with him.  There’s a lot of chemistry, a lot of passion between us.

Keely came back into the dining room to check on us and see if we wanted dessert… I’d secretly been hoping for some of that cheesecake that sounded so yummy when she made it.  Fortunately she had some… She came back quickly with our dessert and scampered off again… she is so sweet and nice, I can see why Joe and Marti adore her.

J: Have you ever asked Keely why she was so protective of you and warning Joe to stay away so fiercely?  I felt a little bad for him at times because he was getting a serious beat down from her and the other town folks…

M: I think Keely seems something of her younger self in me.  You know she’s married, right?  Her husband lives in Charlotte.  I think there’s more to that story.  Really, don’t feel sorry for Joe.  He brings this on himself.  (she winks)

J: How is the house coming along? Is it completed yet?

M: That house may be the death of me.  We’ve had to scale back some of the plans.  That has meant more time and less money.  The kitchen cabinets are stock instead of custom.  The tile is actual tile instead of stone.  The sidewalk and driveway are cement instead of cobblestone.  And every time we turn around, there’s some new problem we are discovering.  On the bright side, I can at least live there during the rest of the renovation.

J: When we left off things were starting to go really well and then we got quite the surprise at the end of the book.  Can you tell us anything about what has been happening since then… I know you don’t want to give anything away but maybe just something that is to come? (I give her my best puppy dog face)

M: Well, I refuse to be part of a love triangle.  It’s not a good look for me.  I guess I’m food selfish and guy selfish.  But…you know…I spent the end of my marriage feeling like I wasn’t enough.  I’m not going to let anyone treat me like I’m less than I am no matter how hot, passionate, or good with his hands he may be.

J: Ok last question and then I’ll let you go… I love to ask this of all my interviewees… Tell me one thing that we don’t already know about you.

M: I’m not as alone in the world as people think.  Blaine drove people away.  That’s about to change.

Well thank you so much for meeting with me, I enjoyed getting to know you better… Shame that Joe couldn’t join us maybe next time I’ll get to meet him… Just as I say that the door opens and Joe walks into the room.  I instantly blush as he walks over and gives Marti a kiss on the cheek… He extends his hand toward me and I shake and introduce myself.  I didn’t get to chat with them they had to get going but we said maybe next time we can all meet up together.

I decided to go for a walk for the evening and stroll around town a bit it’s a pretty town and such a nice night.  I was happy to go for a walk and think about my fun time with Marti.  I can truly see why she loves it here… I’ll be spending the night and then heading back home in the morning.

Thanks for reading along with my time with Marti… I hope you enjoyed it…
My Review of Stormy Surrender

I was so excited to start reading this book.  I adore Nicole and her writing… Her last book was so good, so I was ready to dive into another great story…

When I first started reading Stormy I wasn’t hooked, in fact I think I might have wanted to throw my reader a few times.  I couldn’t stand the husband and at first I didn’t even like Marti.  I couldn’t believe that she didn’t go off the deep end after what he did to her in the beginning.  But as the book moved forward and I got to know Marti a little better I found that I truly liked her.  It wasn’t that she wasn’t a strong woman, and once she started to show her emotions and get angry her true nature finally showed through… Her husband really took the cake when it came to being… well I cannot say the string of profanity I feel about him… Let’s just say if he were real I think I’d hunt him down for her… ugh!

So after Marti takes off for New Hope we really start to see the woman that she is and who she is meant to be.  She is fun and even slightly sassy and she knows how to dish it out especially when it comes to Joe.  I wasn’t a fan of his either it took some time to get into his character.  After he gives her a small gift and takes her to help her mind clear I was smitten with him… Even though the people in town seemed to think otherwise he was good for her and there when she needed a friend and someone to help pull her through the bad moments.

I loved seeing it slowly build from a friendship into more… Joe was sweet and funny… He made me laugh at his antics at times and others I wanted to smack him upside the head… Marti was caring and loving and everything that Joe needed to help him realize that was ok to let go of the past and be real with someone again.  They together made what I thought was a great couple… Two broken souls mending each other in ways neither expected… Until the unexpected ending… I feel that there are some rocky times ahead and I’m not sure where this story will go next but I can only hope that in the end Marti and Joe both find happiness they both truly deserve it…

Nicole’s writing gets better with every book.. Sugar Daddy was my first read and I loved it… Hiding Out was even better yet and as Nicole will tell you I am smitten with a certain character from that book… Can’t wait for the next in that series either… Every books seems to add more character depth and detail and attention to the story.  It’s nice to see an author grow better with every book that they release.  I highly recommend all of her books, they are all excellent reads!!!!

I proudly give this one 5 stars and I can’t wait for more story on Marti and see where her journey leads next…

The Space Between is a new adult contemporary romance.
As I watched her a voice perked my ears, distracting me. It wasn’t just a voice, though. Someone was singing, and they were doing it beautifully.
I walked over to the panoramic view. I’d heard these words before. After all, I had seen the show, but the actress singing then wasn’t like this. And hearing this voice, I discovered the one I’d first heard didn’t do the song justice.
Taking a seat, I watched the girl. Dressed in a long, pink ball gown, she gazed at the crowd during her song. Even from far away, I could still study every element of her. Sparkling doe eyes, rich caramel skin, and chocolate-colored curls that hinted a hazel coloring with the way the spotlight shined on her. She wore a soft pink flower in her hair. The small touch complemented her well.
The words of her song wisped about the room; her voice like an angel.
“Who’s that girl?” I didn’t really know to whom I asked my question. I didn’t really care. I just wanted an answer.
“That’s what I was trying to tell you, Derrick.” Margot sat next to me. “The lead fell ill, and she got into the show.”
Derrick came up on my other side. Crossing his arms, he nodded his head. “Go ‘cus.”
I glanced up at him. “Your cousin?”
“Yep. Great, isn’t she?”
I gazed back as she ended her song. The audience cheered, then gave her a standing ovation.
“Exquisite,” I said, staring at her as she bowed. “What’s her name?”
“Lacey,” Derrick said.
A small smile formed in the corner of my mouth.

When Jocelyn Weatherford is whisked away from a preparatory academy in upstate New York to live with her extended family in New Orleans, she is unprepared to encounter the dangers awaiting her. Yet even as she is thrust into an unfamiliar world of witches and voodoo magic, the greatest threat of all may be the boy she has fallen for.

While handsome and charming, he is also a Caldwell… a member of the family the Weatherford’s have been feuding with for centuries. As their forbidden love grows it becomes the volatile spark that forever changes their world and everyone in it.

My Review of Residue

Jocelyn, a young girl coming of age is suddenly thrust into a world that she doesn’t quite know exists.  She doesn’t know that her family comes from a long line of powerful witches.  After being sent away at a young age to be cared for at a boarding school Jocelyn is your average run of the mill teenager.  She is quite extraordinary despite her beliefs. She is a Weatherford and this makes her anything but ordinary.

Jameson Caldwell is a high school student as well as a student of mystical things.  He has always stood out among his brothers and sisters.  He doesn’t date girls, even though he is quite striking and it isn’t for a lack of options.  But he is different his future holds secrets that even his isn’t privy too.  Jameson is part of  a family forbidden to have interaction with the Weatherford’s but when a chance encounter with one at a local store sets off a reaction even he cannot deny, despite family lore.

This story is very well written.  I have read a lot of witch books and this has some unique qualities.  I am always thrilled to be immersed into the fantasy world of witches and mystical beings.  One of my all-time favorite books is about a witch, so I have read a lot and I can say that I really enjoyed this read.  I love Jameson and Jocelyn’s story.  Their fated love coupled with the connection and bond that they share is sweet.

The feud between the families made for some great moments in the book.  The snarky characters in the Caldwell and Weatherford families are very fun and the curses and hex’s they put on each other made me laugh at times.  Throughout the book the unwinding of the truth brings both sides to a new realization, one that is not only forbidden but is dangerous.

There were a few parts where I saw some things that didn’t add up for me.  But they were very minor.  In whole I really enjoyed the book and getting to know these characters.  I think that readers who like a little magic in their reading will truly enjoy this story line.  The fated lovers, the family quarrel, the history of the families and the secrets to the future and the past are all key parts to this book.

I give it a solid 4 stars.  There are other books in this series and I think I will be reading them all soon to find out what happens to these characters.

Then after Lane discloses she needs him to procure a job, Noel proves he’s a changed man by forcing her to go on the road with him in order to get it.

After Lane reluctantly takes Noel up on his offer, she becomes willing to do whatever it takes to keep him satisfied, even if it means succumbing to his seductive ways. Lane soon finds deception is a dangerous game and she’s not the only one playing.

I awake and slowly blink the sleep out of my eyes. The sun is fading, casting dark shadows in the room. I turn my head to see I’m alone in the bed. Lying on my stomach, staring non-seeing into the room, I remember how exquisitely fucked I was just a few hours ago.
The feel of his hard body over me and his cock moving in and out of me, the sweat dripping off him as we both came. I feel myself get turned on all over again, and he isn’t even here touching me. Then I remember his muted words spoken right before I fell asleep.
“I want you to know I would have waited another sixteen years to be able to feel that with you again.”
I’m finding it hard to believe that Jacob could rescue me from the prison I’ve put myself in over the years, living the life of someone other than whom I feel I should be. Even if that is my true wish, wishes don’t always come true.
The hotel room door opens and Jacob walks in carrying a couple bottles of water from a vending machine, setting them on a side table. He looks yummy as he walks to the bed with a wide smile on his face. Sitting next to me on the edge of the bed, he bends down and kisses my shoulder and down my naked spine, stopping where the sheet lies just above my ass.
“Hey, sleepyhead.” He murmurs in between those drugging kisses. My legs start to stir beneath the sheet and I’m tempted to take another ride before I have to leave.
“Hi. If you keep doing that, you’re not going to be able to stop me from having my wicked way with you again and I need to leave soon.” I sigh with frustration.
“Maybe that’s exactly what I want.” Running a finger up and down my spine, he stretches out next to me.
“I’m sure it is, but I have stuff to get done before I’m back on the road in a few days. I warned you I didn’t have much time but I would do my best to make this work.”
“It feels like I just got you back, and now you have to go away again. I’d much rather see your beautiful face, instead of dreaming of it. Will you have time to sneak away again before you fly out?”
“I’m not sure. We’ll have to play it by ear. I don’t know how much I have to give you, Jacob. And I’m not just talking about my time either. I’ve been going down this lonely path for a while now and I’m not sure where it’s left me. Regardless of what we did today, I am still a married woman with commitments and responsibilities.” I hate bringing up this fact, but I need the reminder out there that this isn’t a fairytale. Its real life, and its messy.
He leans over and thoroughly kisses me before murmuring, “I know. And I’ll take whatever I can get with you. It’s better than having none of you.”
With that parting blow, he kisses me one last time, grabs his keys and heads out.
“Text me later, baby. I’ll be waiting.”
I sure hope I know what I’m doing, because it feels as though things are going to get extremely complicated.

What would happen if you lost everything?  If the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally were no longer there for you, how would your world change?

That’s exactly what happened to Madeleine Becker when her parents died when she was ten years old.  Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again.  The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can’t get hurt if she doesn’t fall in love.

That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy’s pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world.  Maddy’s inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past.

Together they find out what happens when they let love in.

Snippet of Maddy and Reid’s first encounter:

There was a group playing quarters on the island and another group lining up shots on the breakfast bar – so not my scene.  I just shrugged my shoulders, opened the door, pulled out a bottle of water and, when I turned around to walk back outside, I face-planted into a wall of solid muscle.

“Hand me one?” His voice was smooth and… gruff at the same time.  Red-faced, I turned back around and got him his water, glad for the cool respite that the opened refrigerator door offered.

“Here you go.” I could not peel my eyes away from his mouth as he moved the bottle to his lips.  They were perfect – beautiful and full in a completely masculine way.  I watched, completely fascinated, as his throat moved, downing the water in three or four large gulps. He wiped his mouth with his forearm and I couldn’t help but let my eyes travel up the rest of his arm to his biceps and shoulders – those were the same as his lips – perfect.  Amazingly, gorgeously, utterly, divinely perfect.  Muscled and tanned, his arms were mouthwatering.

My knees wobbled.  My heart thudded.  Thousands of butterflies spread their wings in my belly.

“Thanks…” he stared blankly at my face for a minute and I couldn’t help but wondering if he liked what he saw.  He cleared his throat and roused me from my little daydream where the gorgeous boy is mesmerized by the maybe-a-little-above-average looking girl.  That’s when I realized he was asking for my name.

“Maddy.  Sorry, my name’s Maddy.” I nearly choked on my tongue to get my freaking name out.

Author Bio:

I’ve always been an avid reader.  Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer.  Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer.  I’ve spent the last ten years teaching and I’ve loved (mostly) every minute of it.  When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity.  My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldn’t wait to get it out there.  I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

But helping her out won’t be easy. He comforts her through screaming nightmares and escaping the lingering fears of her past, but that’s the easy part. Her preference to sleep cuddled up next to his warm body, and her desire to please him in every way makes her harder and harder to resist.

Meet the Characters from Resisting Her

She trusted him way too much. She needed to go to her room and probably lock the goddamn door, because the way that T-shirt clung to her tits and crept up her side to expose a taunt patch of skin forced his mind to the gutter. He imagined lifting her shirt over her head and nibbling on her soft flesh, exploring her breasts with gentle licks and kisses until she was moaning out his name in that sweet sleep-laced voice.

Everything always seems to fall into place for twenty-four year-old Aubrey Jenson, except for when it comes to her luck with men. Bad boys always draw her in and crush her heart, and Black Falcon’s lead guitarist, Riff, is no exception. After sharing a few wild nights together, she leaves him behind; knowing a guy like Riff isn’t the relationship type, merely just a play thing.

When she returns to New York, she tries to get the passion she felt in Riff’s arms out of her head by dating Isaac, a successful representative at Center Stage Marketing. Just when she thinks she’s forgotten Riff, she’s forced to see him again when her best friend, Lanie, ropes her into being a bridesmaid for her upcoming wedding to Black Falcon front man, Noel.

Sparks fly instantly between Aubrey and Riff when they’re forced to reunite, and suddenly she finds herself caught between the man that’s good for her and the one who completely rocks her in every way.

**New Adult Romance–Book 2 in the Black Falcon series. This book can be read without reading book one.**

My Review of Rock My Bed
It’s taken me a bit of time to come up with the right words for this review.  This book is in a word “AWESOME”!!!! It will forever hold a special place in my heart.  I loved Rock The Heart and was very smitten with Noel.  I knew that I would enjoy this book because I love Michelle’s writing, what I didn’t know before reading this book is that…. I LOVE RIFF!!!!!!  I fell hard and fast for the bad boy of Black Falcon.

Aburey Jenson is determined to leave the bad boys behind after several broken hearts, and failed relationships. Because of her friendship with Lanie Vance, she knew all about the band and always found Riff attractive.  When she meets Riff backstage after a concert, the sparks fly instantly and  she’s becomes caught up in his web of seduction. Their chemistry is palpable, and she fights like crazy to stay away from him knowing that guys like him don’t do the relationship thing.  Aburey eventually gives into temptation and allows herself a few nights with Riff. What can it hurt since she is determined to settle down with the “right” type of guy.

Riff is the bad boy of Black Falcon, his “golden ticket” leading the ladies to the tour bus night after night, is just the way of life for him. Riff doesn’t do relationships or “LOVE”.  Riff is broken, his past has made him who he is today and it defines what he believes about himself and relationships.

So what are my thoughts besides the fact that I love Riff….

I loved that Michelle started out the book from the same spot where Rock the Heart started.  This book can be read as a standalone book.  But you should read the other two they are just as awesome!!! The one thing that I really loved seeing was the other side of the conflict between Noel and Riff in this book.  It was interesting hearing it from Riff’s side vs what we saw in the first book.

When Riff and Aubrey first meet in the book it was like a fireworks display on the 4th of July.  I got really giddy because Aubrey is so sassy and Riff is so sexy and confident the first meeting was an explosion of passion and lust!

I have to say that Aubrey is my favorite female from this series.  She is whitty and quick with her banter and she doesn’t let Riff run over her which makes her perfect for him.  He needs a strong woman that can stand up to his crap, and Aburey has the backbone for it.  She truly holds her own which turns him on even more.  I believe he says that the women that play hard to get are his biggest weakness, but I don’t think he ever stood a chance from the moment he laid eyes on her.

At one point in the book I really wanted to grab them both and knock them over the head.  I would find myself saying “Why do they fight it so much”.  Aburey being torn between the guy that she “thinks” she should be with the guy that she “wants” to be with, made for some SERIOUS angst in this book.  I have to say I HATE ISAAC… And this isn’t because I LOVE Riff it’s because of his attitude.  I wanted to scream at Aubrey for even considering him… He just made me completely crazy from the minute he was introduced.

One character I found really intriguing in this book is Trip.  He was so insightful and funny.  He had some great advice for Riff, and he had some really funny dialogue.  I am really looking forward to seeing more of him in the future...

So during this book I LAUGHED… a lot… and I CRIED… 4 times… And might have felt like I needed a few cold showers… WARNING: DO NOT READ DURING LUNCH HOUR AT WORK!!!  Yeah I won’t make that mistake again… And I really wanted to HUG RIFF a lot… His story and the self-loathing was so sad at times, his struggles are realistic and will tug at your heart.  I cried, did I mention 4 times…

This book will make you swoon and completely fall in love with the “badest bad boy” of Black Falcon… Michelle did an amazing job telling this story!  I happily give it 5 stars and hope that you all enjoy this story as much as I do…

Annie Chang is in her mid 20s and has lived in Los Angeles all her life. After a series of failed relationships, she’s beginning to feel like she will never meet Mr. Right. But seeing one of her longtime BFFs find love on the internet, she decides to give online dating a try.

After finally finding an amazing guy who sweeps her off her feet, will he prove to be everything she could have wished for and more or is he too good to be true?

My Review of Love In all The Wrong Places

To say that Annie Chang is unlucky in finding the right guy is a gross understatement.  In fact she seems to attract all the wrong men like a magnet.  After several failed relationships she attempts to seek out companionship on the internet.  She doesn’t really have much luck with this either… There are several attempts with men that fail quite miserably yet again and Annie is left wondering if she will ever find a man who appreciates and loves her and isn’t a complete jerk!

When she isn’t looking a guy sort of appears out of nowhere… Could he be the one?  Well you‘ll need to read along to find out…

While reading this book I had to feel really badly for Annie. She really does have some bad relationships.  Just when you think she is getting somewhere there is a slap in the face moment and it all blows up in her face.  This poor girl… I really felt for her because I personally wouldn’t want to be out there in the dating world in this day and age, there are so many creepy people.  I did feel like Annie was trying to be someone she isn’t in order to find a guy.  She’s a beautiful girl and a has a BIG heart.  She just needs to look in the right places, what they are I have no idea but it appears that that internet for her doesn’t work so well… There was a bit of a surprise at the ending and of course I cannot tell you what that is because it would totally ruin the story… But I can say that there is a second book and this kind of left us hanging not knowing what was going to happen with Annie… Did her mystery guy turn into everything she hoped for?  Your guess is as good as mine on that one, because we have to wait till the next book to find out where this story goes…

It was a good read.  It took me a bit to get into the characters but by the end I did really like Annie and truly felt bad for her and her path she had taken and her now confused state over what to do next…  This story is fairly unique.  I haven’t come across anything sisimilar out there which is hard to do.  The market has been saturated with a lot of stories that are similar so when you find a unique one it is truly refreshing!

Audrey is a great writer.  The story was very well written and very clean.  A lot of first time novels come out and aren’t always cleanly edited, so BIG KUDOS to Audrey for putting out a great book for her first time…  I‘m interested to see what happens next.  I felt the beginning of the book was a little slow moving, but once it gets going it moved pretty quickly.  It could have used a little more angst and a little more depth to some of the scenes but overall it is a really nice quick read.

I give this one 4 stars and I am excited to read the next book to see where Annie’s search leads her because I need answers…
