 Bitter Angel Excerpt:

As Nilah hooted and woohooed, it took less than a minute for her Infiniti G35 to reach illegal speeds. Her hollering was a painful side effect of her birthday high. If she weren’t driving, she’d have probably stuck her head out the window and let her ears flap in the wind. From the front passenger seat, Heather was blowing on her French manicure, even though her nails were way past dry.
I leaned forward from the back, an elbow on each of their seats. “Where is this place again?”
“We went there once,” Nilah reminded me. “It’s near that Fourth Street Park place we went to last time, but we’re going to dinner as soon as we get into town. I made reservations at the most expensive seafood place I could find.”
Grimacing, I sank back into the plush, heated leather. I’d never been a very big seafood fan, but it was Nilah’s birthday. Her day, her rules. We’d always had that tradition for our birthdays—we got to pick where we ate, what we did, and go wherever we wanted on our special day.
I sighed, already missing Jay. At that moment, I began to daydream that I was clawing my way out of the car, curling into a ball, and rolling to a stop on the concrete. Then, magically uninjured of course, I’d race back to him.
When I came to my senses, however, I was overcome with a very strange sensation. Like I didn’t have to imagine it.
Because I was still with him.

At twelve, Megan decided to write a novel. A month later, she quit. A reading junkie by nature, she started writing again in her twenties as a way to get the voices out, because who wouldn’t want to create a Real Living Person out of thin air? Megan also plays the piano and sings. She teaches little kids and takes pictures of pretty butterflies. She eats way too much chocolate, is sort of a mad scientist with her blender, and spends an unhealthy amount of time LOLing on Facebook and Twitter. She lives in Ohio with her husband and very smiley son. Bitter Angel is her first published novel.

Blog Tour: Reckless Abandon by Andrea Randall!

November Harris is lost. After a failed romance with musician Bo Cavanaugh, Ember is left struggling to regain her true self. The problem is, Bo won’t go away and Ember’s stance is firm—she doesn’t want him back.

Adrian Turner, Ember’s ex-boyfriend-turned confidant, is patient with her heartbreak, but he can’t hold back his own feelings forever.

As she sorts through her past, in an effort to plan a solid future, Ember will find that sometimes even the best laid plans bow to the soul’s desire for reckless abandon.
 Excerpt from Reckless Abandon

When the doors ding closed behind us, I slam Adrian into the side of the elevator by my mouth. “Never do that to me in public again,” I curse in the short time my tongue leaves his mouth.
I feel his grin against my lips. “Don’t worry, baby. Anything else I plan on doing to you has to be done in private.”
We tear blindly through his door in a hurricane of need five years in the making. I glide backward with each step he takes forward, until my hips are backed up against the kitchen island. With the height of my heels, I’m able to lift up on my toes slightly and shift myself onto the marbled surface. Once anchored, I kick off my heels and wrap my legs around his waist.

“You have condoms right?” I breathe onto his collarbone as I explore the peaks and valleys of his muscles with my lips.

 My Review of Reckless Abandon:
To say that I was excited for this book might be a bit of an understatement!  I was really really excited!  I loved Ten Days of Perfect!  I am so honored to be a part of the tour for this second book in the series.
When we left off in Ten Days of Perfect November had been shattered by secrets and lies at the hand of Bo, the man she fell hopelessly in love with in such a short amount of timeOf course there was Adrian Turner her ex-boyfriend is there waiting to pick up the pieces of her heart and try to piece them back together.

So I was expecting really good things from this second book in the series and I must say what I got was AWESOME!

There were moments where I wanted to reach out and choke Ember because I thought she was being super flaky.  She tries so hard to rid her life of Bo after the deception but no matter how hard she tries it just never quite works for her.  She has a job that she will not give up because she believes in the importance of it, but that puts her right back in Bo’s world and though they agree to go their separate ways, the magnetic pull to each other cannot be denied or discounted

There is a part in the book that took me hours to recover from, I can’t tell you what it is in case you haven’t read the book, if you did read it you know what I’m talking about.  This part was EPIC.  I was shocked.  In fact for quite some time I sat saying NO FREAKING WAY THIS IS NOT HAPPENING… I even think I may have messaged Andrea somewhere in the midst of my BIG UGLY CRY about it.  Once I finally go over the cry fest that happened I was able to settle back into the story.  And what a whrilwind it was from that moment till the very end.

There was some really great steamy scenes in this book!  Bo is downright loveable and I find myself always wanting to give that man a big hug.  You will be frustrated at times, you will do the big ugly cry at times and you will want to scream too… But in the end you will have a smile plastered on your face and be completely warmed from the inside out… Andrea has a way with her writing that will do that to youI truly feel that Bo and Ember are soul mates and that they should live happily ever after.

Can they both overcome the past and their baggage and move on from all the heartache?

Well you‘ll have to read the book to find out!!!!!  5++++ STARS for this awesome sequel…

Rules of Entanglement Release Day!!!!!

Fighting For Love Book #2

District Attorney Vanessa McGregor firmly believes that structure and order are the stuff that dreams are made of. Happiness can be planned – and it starts with seven rules she’s laid out for her future. But as she’s organizing her best friend’s wedding in Hawaii, all of Vanessa’s best-laid plans are about to meet their match in a wickedly hot MMA fighter…

Jackson “Jax” Maris is focused on surfing, training and fighting. That is, until he opens up his big mouth, and finds himself having to pretend he’s engaged to his little sister’s best friend, Vanessa. When they’re force to share a romantic bungalow, however, their little charade suddenly takes a turn for the seriously sexy. And while Jax is definitely not part of Vanessa’s long-term plan, he has seven days – and seven naughty nights – to turn her seven-rule plan upside down.

My Review of Rules of Entanglement:

Gina delights us once again with a powerhouse story about unconditional love, heartache and the power of forgiveness.

To say I had been waiting a long time for this second book would be an understatement.  I bought Seducing Cinderella because I thought it looked good. I loved the cover and the synopsis.  It was absolutely an amazing read!  So I had been waiting on this next in the series for a long time.  I was able to get an early copy so that I could post some reviews of the book on release day. So here we go!

This book starts off with Lucie’s best friend Vanessa “Nessie” McGregor, having to head to Hawaii to plan the wedding of Lucie’s dreams for her because she has been struck with illness and cannot get there to do it herself.  Lucie is the heroine in Seducing Cinderella and she is going to marry Reid Alexander MMA fighter and best friend of her brother Jackson Maris.  When Vanessa arrives she is supposed to meet with “Jax” her best friends brother who lives in Hawaii.  Vanessa has lived a life full of regrets and heartache.  She has 7 Rules that she lives by and she has never broken them for anyone.  She’s a lawyer and one headstrong woman.  She’s snarky and down right funny.  “V” as Jax insists on calling her is not the type to get pushed around by anyone.  She is strikingly beautiful and turns heads everywhere she goes but her “step off” attitude leaves a little to be desired.

Jackson “Jax” Maris is Lucie’s only brother.  After their parents died suddenly he made it his life’s mission to raise Lucie to be an exemplary woman.  Jax had to struggle for years to make this work and when Lucie was old enough he fled off to Hawaii, where he trains and fights as an MMA fighter.  There is a reason he chose Hawaii and it is a secret he has held onto for the last 15 years, even from his baby sister.  Jax is a strong man, and oh so warm and sensual.  When he arrives late to pickup his baby sister’s best friend Vanessa he gets an ear full and an eye full.  Jax has never met a woman with the quick tongue and whitt of one Vanessa McGregor.  He is quickly charmed and forms a plan to get closer to this woman that has set his world a tilt.

I cannot tell you how much I love Jax and Nessie.  Jax very quickly stole my heart.  I was told that others liked him more the Reid and I didn’t that that was possible but after reading this story, he’s joined my book boyfriend list.  He’s not just yummy in the looks department but he is super sweet and caring.  Oh so sensual and just downright panty melting in the bedroom, and all the other delicious places he and Vanessa adventure into and there are quite a few of them ;-).  He makes it his life mission to break down the walls that V has built and when the come crashing down he is comforting and loving.  He’s determined to prove that her 7 rules are not the way to live.

There are some super hot and steamy scenes and I can tell you that I will never do a shot of alcohol again without thinking of Jax and Nessie.  You’ll have to read the story to find out why and I promise you that it’s TOTALLY WORTH it!

The characters are strong and very well written.  Their relationship is so realistic, they have lots of issues to overcome.  Who doesn’t?The question is can Vanessa let down on her 7 rules long enough to let Jax in?  Or will she run like she always does?  Well You’ll have to read it to find out…  I promise you won’t be disappointed in this book.  This one was easily a 5 star read for me.  There isn’t much that you could change to make it any better then it was.  I want to go to Hawaii now after reading it and I bet that you will too.  Enjoy and Happy Reading!

Fight with Me (With Me in Seattle Series) by Kristen Proby

Jules Montgomery is too busy and content with her life to worry about a man, especially one Nate McKenna. If growing up with four brothers has taught her anything, she knows to stay away from sexy men with tattoos and motorcycles. That goes double if he’s your boss. During the one incredible night they shared, he violated the no fraternization policy…among other things, and it won’t happen again. Jules won’t risk her career for mind-blowing sex, no matter how much her body and her damn heart keep arguing with her.

Nate McKenna could give a shit about the no fraternizing policy. He wants Jules and he’ll have her. The rules could bend around them, or be damned. He’s not a man to be taken lightly, and Jules Montgomery is about to find out just how he responds to being pushed aside after the best night of sex he’s ever had. She can fight all she wants, but he’ll have her in his bed in the end.

FIGHT WITH ME is the second novel in the With Me In Seattle Series.

My Review of Fight with Me
Kristen graced us with a New Years surprise but releasing Fight with Me!  I curled up with a couple glasses of wine and my iPad and got straight to reading about Jules and Nate!  It was a Happy New Year indeed!
The books takes us back to the night it all began.  If you haven’t read Come Away with Me the first in the series then you need to read it first.  In the first book Jules tells Natalie that she had sex with her boss.  The beginning of Fight with Me fills in all the details of the night that started their love story.
I already knew from the first book that I loved Jules.  She’s sassy and smart which are two of her best character traits in this book.  She doesn’t get pushed around growing up in a house with 4 brothers, she was trained to fight and protect herself.  She doesn’t need a man to protect her.  Or Does She?
We know very little about Nate McKenna at the beginning of the book.  Only that he has had an instant attraction to Jules, that they have had sex once, and he is her boss which means he is off limits!  Nate is gorgeous and sexy and Jules has tried to maintain their professional relationship because according to their company’s no fraternization policy she knows that he can never be hers.  Or Can He?
Jules and Nate have maintained a professional relationship after their brief yet HOT and unforgettable encounter for almost a year.  Apparently Nate has had enough of and tricks Jules into having a late meeting in his office under the pretense that they will be working on a problem account over the weekend.  When dinner is delivered and Jules starts to inquire about the issues with the account Nate gets to the real meaning of this so called meeting!  His proposition… Jules spends the weekend with him and stop pretending that they don’t want each other!
“You’re not looking at me like you just want dinner, Nate” – Jules
What I hadn’t expected was how passionate and loving Nate would be.  I knew from the previous book, Nate’s description had BAD BOY written all over it.  What I didn’t expect was the tender loving, passionate and sensitive “teddy bear” he turned out to be.  I love that he has paid attention over the last several months and knows little things about her like the fact that she loves Chocolate Cheesecake, and how she takes her coffee, it showed that Nate was truly into more then just her body and some great sex that they had.  He is all about Jules in every way that truly counts and she is #1 in his book above anything and everything.
“You look lovely with the firelight dancing on your skin, and your beautiful blue eyes look happy” – Nate
Nate has quite the dominate and possessive side which was endearing instead of frightening.  Love is about compromise and Jules makes it very clear to Nate that she won’t be told what she can and can’t do.
“I can’t stand the thought of it, Julianne.  No other man will ever see you naked again, do you understand me?” – Nate
As always no relationship is perfect that Jules and Nate have their fair share of imperfection in this book.  Nate has a past that shows up and throws a bit of a wrench into the situation between them.  Not to mention that Jules has issues with a co-worker that seems out to ruin her.
I don’t want to give away spoilers and giving too many details will ruin some of the plot twists for readers.  Know that Jules and Nate are some of the best characters I have read to date.  Kristen has a real talent for creating lovable, honest, passionate and HOT characters!!!  This book has all the sexy scenes you could ever want as well as the passion and tenderness everyone seeks. The chemistry between Jules and Nate is as HOT in the bedroom as it is outside the bedroom.
I enjoyed this book tremendously and I am so happy to have Nate and Jule grace my New Year!!!  I give Fight with Me the full 5 stars!  There is absolutely nothing I would change or felt like I was missing in this book!  I highly recommend the series for everyone who enjoys true to the heart, passionate love stories!

Someone to Love by Addison Moore

Someone to LoveSynopsis:

What happens when two people who don’t believe in love, happen to fall madly into the most beautiful relationship they could ever imagine? A train wreck.

When twenty-year-old Kendall Jordan transfers clear across country to Garrison University, the last thing she’s looking for is a one-night stand. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what, gorgeous, Cruise Elton offers.

Kendall has long since come to realize that love is an illusion that never lasts, and Cruise couldn’t agree more—but something deep inside her wants him all for herself. So, Kendall devises a seat of the pants plan to “play the player” and proposes that Cruise tutor her in becoming a female version of himself, Garrison University’s own playboy.

Real feelings begin to emerge, and neither Kendall nor Cruise know how to classify them. Everything they once thought they knew is redefined as they discover, in one another, Someone to Love.

My Review of Someone to Love
Do you believe in Love at First Sight???
Where to begin!!! I downloaded this for my kindle as it kept appearing in my recommendation list.  It sounded good from the synopsis so I thought I’d give it a try.  What I got was a wonderful and surprising read!
I was immediately taken by Kendall Jordan!  She arrives at Garrison University, at a party being hosted by her mother’s best friends son Pennington.  Yes that name is as ridiculous as the character is… haha!  Kendall isn’t HAPPY, she was supposed to be set up with housing at the dorms.  She quickly finds that Pennington didn’t setup anything for her… She has to find her own way from the airport to the frat house.  Her meet and greet with Pennington is anything but desirable!  What she does find desirable is her confrontation with the campus playboy Cruise Elton!  Their first encounter is nothing short of HYSTERICAL!
“Woah”. I slap my hands over his chest and give him a good shove.  ” Sorry, cowboy, I’m not into on-night stands either. I get it. I really do,” I say trying to maneuver my way from under him.  “You’re on a road show with your penis, and trust me, I’m the last person who wants to get in your way.  But I’m telling you, operation occupy-my-vagina is a no-go for the evening.”  Kendall
And this was just the beginning of the book!  Kendall or “Kenny” as Cruise nicknames her has such a great sassy attitude.  With nowhere to live she quickly has to put her trust in Mr. Playboy himself.  Kendall and Cruise both have pasts that have tainted their views of love and the belief that it even exists, let alone lasts forever.  Kendall’s mother is the perpetual bride and Cruise has been burned by the one person he thought was the love of his life.
Since Kendall is forced into rooming with Cruise she decides that he is going to teach her  how to become the female version of himself.  How better to seduce the player then become just like him.   As their “lessons” start Kendall finds herself feeling something real for the gorgeous Cruise, and wonders if he feels the same.  Since we get alternating POV’s in the chapters we get to learn first hand what he is thinking of her!
Kendall faces challenges not only from their family but friends as well as someone she thinks is a friend… I won’t disclose who this person is but she is vindictive and out for blood and Kendall is caught in the cross hairs time and again without even being aware.
There are so many laugh out loud funny moments throughout this book.  Kendall’s thoughts made me crack up throughout the whole book.
Okay. Don’t panic. I’m sure there’s no real injury taking place in my baby-making station.  It just feels as though I’ve managed to sterilize myself forever thanks to the self-inflicted ulcers. – Kendall
Kendall and Cruise’s relationship is tested repeatedly by outside forces and personal insecurities.  His past comes back to haunt him and misunderstandings on both sides drive a wedge into their relationship.  She questions his feelings and true intentions, and lets her belief that love never lasts creep up and ruin the best thing she has ever had in her life.  Can Kendall and Cruise get past their insecurities and believe that love can truly last?  I won’t tell you the ending you’ll have to read it to find out for yourself….
I was touched by the story and the love shared between these two characters.  The development of their story was so natural, she didn’t fall in bed the moment she laid eyes on him, though she really wanted to.  It’s so refreshing to have a story that travels along the natural progression of a relationship.  The sexual tension and innuendos pay off in spades when Kendall and Cruise finally give it to their desire for each other.  This leads to some pretty hot scenes with the two lovers.
In the end I was completely smitten with this book.  Addison did a fantastic job delivering a realistic and lovable story and characters.  I have read a lot of books lately that have fell short of getting my attention, this book was such a pleasant surprise I couldn’t help but promote it!
I give Someone to Love a solid 4.5 stars!

Forever My Girl (The Beaumont #1) By Heidi McLaughlin

I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.

I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.

And now I’m going back.

After ten years.

I hope I can explain that after all this time.

I still want her to be my forever girl.

My Review of Forever My Girl by Heidi McLaughlin
For Liam Westbury the last thing that he wants to do is return to his hometown of Beaumont.  What he left behind is still there all the memories, the friends,  family and the love of his life… The love he threw away to chase a dream that he was afraid nobody would support or believe in.  He doesn’t know what to expect upon his return to
“I gave up on their dreams and the life we had all planned out. And now I was heading home to face the music.”
This book presents us with alternating POV from Josie and Liam.  There were flashbacks to the past that fit right in with the story and gave you more insight to how Josie and Liam’s relationship developed in the past.  Heidi does an amazing job capturing the heartache and feeling in these characters.  I was instantly smitten with Liam and he broke my heart with his story in the beginning of this book.  He gave up everything to chase his dream.  When the death of an old friend makes him question everything he gave up Liam realizes that his dreams aren’t 100% fulfilled.  He is missing the one meaningful thing he left behind ten years ago.  He has so much to atone for after his abrupt departure ten years ago, he isn’t sure returning will be the best thing for him or the people he left behind.
What I loved most was that the characters didn’t rush into anything in this book.  So many times we find that they reunite quickly and it seems so unrealistic.  When Liam first returns Josie is not very happy to see him even though the emotions she suppressed over the last ten years come flooding back with a vengeance.  She is torn between the love she once had for Liam, and the hurt of him leaving her that she cannot forget.   You get the feeling that Liam and Josie are destined to be together, but they are both dealing with things that stand in their way in their current situations.
There are a few things that I won’t mention because I don’t want to spoil the surprises in this book. The issues that Josie faces are so real you can imagine yourself in the same situations. Her fears are logical and add a realistic quality to the character.  She thinks things through and doesn’t jump into anything without being sure of herself.   Liam is more than patient knowing that he cannot just erase the last ten years in just a few days.  Liam will wait for Josie to make her choices in the book and doesn’t ever push for more then what she can give him.  There was definitely room for him to be pushy in certain situations but he always remained patient and level headed knowing that pushing would only backfire on him.  The tenderness Liam shows toward Josie is admirable, he takes her feeling into account on every level all the time.
“I want every part of you in my life, Jojo, when you’re ready.” “I’ll be patient… You will be mine again.”

Another thing that was really great in this book was the time given to other characters. It never felt like they were put in the book as filler, they were all given real story time.  Liam’s band members were introduced, and Josie and Liam’s friends and family were all given a special place in the past and present.  These supporting characters leave a great opening for the rest of the series.  At the end of the book you get a glimpse of the second book.  I already cannot wait to get my hands on it!

The only part of the book that I felt was slightly rushed was the ending.  I would have liked to have seen just a little bit more detail to the story in parts at the end.  But overall the story had excellent character development and the story flowed flawlessly throughout.  I laughed at some parts and cried at others, several others… The story was endearing and will certainly delight fans of second chances and redemption!

“I love you, Liam.”
“You’re forever my girl.”
I give Forever My Girl 4.5 stars, and added it to my list of favorite reads for this year!  It was really THAT GOOD!  Heidi you have a new fan in me and I’ll be watching out for the 2nd book!

I’m also an active reviewer on The Readiacs – a site I own with my best friend and uber special beta, Yvette.
