THIS IS THE SEQUEL to ‘Disastrous’.

Marcus and Mia share a LOVE stronger than others, but their relationship was built on LIES and deceit.

Cautiously, they continue to struggle for what they desire more than anything, each other.

Though, that comes with a price …one that involves more HEARTBREAK and deception.

Can they survive another disastrous path?

Is their love strong enough to defeat all the obstacles, all of the BETRAYAL?

Not all broken relationships are repairable, but Marcus and Mia try their hardest to fight for themselves and for each other.

Jenn’s Interview with Marcus & Jimmie DeLuca
So today I’m interviewing Jimmie and Marcus DeLuca and to say I am slightly on alert and a little nervous is an understatement… I mean they were after all mobsters… but shhhh… don’t tell anybody… We decided that I would meet up with them at Marcus’s house, he’s most comfortable there and since he rarely let’s Mia out of his sight these days I was happy to oblige.

I arrive at his home and immediately notice how modern it looks. I’d think that this was a bachelor pad for sure if it wasn’t for the girly princess stuff scattered in the front yard. Elle’s addition to the landscaping of their home, I couldn’t help but giggle.

As I approached the door it opened wide, expecting to see an adult I looked down and saw the most adorable little girl dressed up looking like her favorite princess…

“Well you must be, Belle, right?” I winked at her.

“No my name is Elle.” She tilts her head with a smile, “and you must be Jennifer, my daddy said you were coming.” Her smile is infectious.

“Elle what are you doing?” I hear a male voice coming from behind the door and look up to be faced with none other than Jimmie DeLuca.

(Somebody get me a fan it just got really hot in here… WOW!!!! I never expected him to be this good looking I mean well… WOW!!!!)

I clear my throat.

“Well Elle was just informing me that her name isn’t Belle…” I winked at him and giggled.

“Ah, yes, Elle can be a bit offensive when it comes to her name.” He smiled wildly.

“It was very nice to meet you, Elle. I hope that we can talk later, I happen to love to play Princess too…” She’s adorable as she gives me a bright smile and runs off. She looks so much like her father.

His lips curled into a grin, “Hello, I’m Jimmie DeLuca, and you are?”

“And as if I didn’t already know who you are, I’m Jennifer it’s so nice to meet you Jimmie.” I smile shyly at him and hold out my hand.

Jimmie reaches out and grabs my hand, “Ah, yes, Jennifer. Please come in.”

As we walk inside I take in the almost familiar scene around me. I remember it vividly from the descriptions. It feels very homey. As we near the kitchen I spy Marcus and just about freeze in my spot… Dumbstruck. I can’t help but stare, dear lord these boys have some amazing genes… maybe it’s the water in Boston! I feel like I have been standing here forever staring as Marcus approaches me.

“Hello, Jennifer, I’m Marcus DeLuca. It’s nice to meet you.”

“It’s so nice to meet you Marcus, you have a beautiful home.” I smile trying to hide my embarrassment for starting at this man but damn he’s fine!

He gives a crooked grin and waves his arm toward a formal living area. “Let’s go in here”

As we sit and get comfortable I find I am just a little intimidated having them both staring at me now. God get ahold of yourself here Jenn seriously they are just men, but damn they are HOT men I mean like smoking hot… you get the drift right.

“Shall we get started? I promise that this won’t be too difficult.” I smile warmly at them they make me feel at ease as they smile back.

Jenn: Ok first of all I really do feel like I know so much about you both already. I want to get some basics. Marcus what made you want to become a lawyer in the first place?

Marcus: I guess it was always in the plan. Jimmie was in law school and we always talked about owning our own firm. It just fit.

Jenn: What about you Jimmie I feel like we know the least about you. What do you do, um, now that you aren’t well… you know… (I laugh nervously… I don’t know if I should say in the mob or a mafia dude.. I mean that is a delicate subject)

Jimmie: Well, I deal with contracts for different companies and such. Although, I don’t work at the firm, I handle legal documents privately at home.

Jenn: We know that you have both been through so much tell me what lesson do you think that you learned after everything that you have both been through.

Marcus: I’m not sure if there was any real life lesson that we’ve learned, but we have grown closer through this process

Jenn: Marcus tell me when you first met Mia, what was going through you mind? At that point in your life going after a woman seemed like it would only complicate things. Did you think that you could keep your secrets from her about your umm… activities?

Marcus: When I first met Mia it was this instant pull toward her. She’s beautiful, but there was something about her, that I couldn’t stay away. I needed to know more of who she was, and I made sure that I wouldn’t stop until I found out. As for keeping “secrets” I’m sure there are lots of individuals who have secrets, they wish not others to know. My secrets were more to protect her.

Jenn: Mia has become such a vital part of your life. When she left you after the miscarriage did you think that you would ever be able to win her back? I do have to say that camping outside her door really was a nice touch…

Marcus: *rubs the back of neck* Um… after finding out about the miscarriage, I think that was the hardest situation I’ve ever dealt with in my life. We shared something that was more than just the love we had for one another. I was sure after everything we’ve been through, and all the hurt I’ve caused her, that she would never take me back. I’m glad she gave us another shot.

Jenn: Jimmie, did Marcus come to you at all for advice through any of the stuff that was going on with Mia? You guys are so close and share so much. You must have had some brotherly advice for him.

Jimmie: *chuckles* Marcus, is pretty much of a loner when it comes to dealing with issues on a general. I usually have to beat it out of him. Though, when it came to Mia, the feelings he had toward her, was something he had never experience. It was difficult for him to deal with all of it, so yes, he did come to me for advice. By the way, camping out in front of her apartment was my idea, for sure.

Marcus: Now that’s a lie. *glares at Jimmie*

Jimmie shrugs it off.

Jenn: (still chucking from their banter I decided to get personal with Jimmie) Tell me, Jimmie, every lady out there wants to know: what kind of woman is it going to take to capture, Jimmie DeLuca’s heart. (I giggle thinking if I weren’t married I’d sign up for this role, any woman would be damn lucky to have this fine man next to her…)

Jimmie: At the moment, my main focus is my little girl. Elle, means the world to me, and I need to give her my full attention. If the time comes that I’m fortunate enough to have a woman in my life, the only thing that is a must is that she loves kids, if not I’m screwed. *winks*

Jenn: Are there any ladies that have caught your eye Jimmie? (I wink at him)

Jimmie: Haha, no not at the moment.

Jenn: Tell me what is your one biggest regret?

Marcus: Mine would be not being honest with Mia from the beginning.

Jimmie: I don’t have any regrets, everything happens for a reason. *Marcus rolls his eyes at Jimmie* what dude? I’m serious. *Jimmie laughs*

(These two are like watching a comedy act…)

Jenn: Marcus can you tell me how things are going now. I can honestly say that this last part of your story wasn’t easy for most of us to read and we all felt your pain and sincerely were able to cry right along with you at the worst moments…
Marcus: Everything now is better than I can ever ask for. Mia’s pregnant, she’s due in five months and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you for asking.

Jenn: I’m so happy to hear that because you have both been through some rough times.

(now time for some fun with these two… )

Jenn: Ok let’s move on to some fun stuff… So you two are pretty sexy… (I blush and shake my head) So we want to know some things about Marcus and Jimmie… You guys ready for this?

*Marcus suspiciously looks over Jimmie, who returns the look* “Sure.” They say in unison.

Favorite Position?

Marcus: Any.

Jimmie: Haha, any sex position is good. *winks*

Boxers or Briefs?

Marcus: Briefs

Jimmie: Briefs, boxers make my balls sag.

Hottest Place you’ve ever had sex?

Marcus: Movie theater *smiles*

Jimmie whips his head over to Marcus, “Movie Theater? Dude you and Mia are freaks.” Marcus shrugs.

Jenn: Yeah we know all about the movie theater… (I say winking at Marcus)

Jimmie: Laundry mat. *smile with triumph* Marcus looks over at him and says, “You had to have one up on me, didn’t ya?”

Best pickup line you’ve ever used?

Marcus: Never needed one.

Jimmie: Are your feet tired? Because you’ve been running through my mind all day. *Marcus raised a brow at him.* what? It worked! I know, I know, I’ve been out the game for a while.

Biggest turn on?

Marcus: When Mia is in just one of my t-shirt’s. Biggest turn on.

Jimmie: A confidant woman.

Tropical Island or Cabin in the Mountains?

Marcus: Tropical Island.

Jimmie: Cabin in the mountains.

Jenn: So I have one last question and then I will let you guys go… I love to ask this of everyone that I interview… Tell me one thing about yourself that our readers don’t know about you already.

Marcus: I like alternative rock music.

Jimmie: I’m an eighties movie man.

(I smile at this and immediately think of my favorite 80’s movie Pretty in Pink… Long Duck Dong… funny stuff…)

“Well that’s all I have for you guys… anything else you’d like to add?”

*they both glance at each other than me, and shook their heads*

As I pack up Elle runs back into the living room to tell Marcus that Mia needs him upstairs. Marcus chuckles as she whispers in his ear…

“I’ll let you two get back to your family, I really appreciate you both sitting down with me today. It’s been a lot of fun and I hope that we all get together again sometime it was really nice meeting you both today.” (I hold out my hand to shake both of theirs)

Marcus: Good bye, Jenn. Thank you for stopping by.

Jimmie: Thank you for the interview.

As I make my way back out to the rental car I can’t help but smile at how charming and fun they both are. No wonder Mia was so smitten with Marcus from the beginning he’s really a charmer… And whoever finally grabs up Jimmie is going to be one lucky girl… Just their smiles alone makes you melt!!!

That’s all for now hope you enjoyed me interview with Marcus and Jimmie DeLuca… They sure were fun to hang with and easy on the eyes… Until next time!

What would happen if you lost everything? If the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally were no longer there for you, how would your world change?

Madeleine Becker lost everything when her parents died when she was ten years old. Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again. The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can’t get hurt if she doesn’t fall in love.

That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy’s pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world. Maddy’s inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past.

Together they find out what happens when they let love in.

Excerpt from Let Love In

“Hey, I thought I was supposed to meet you at your place? Did I miss something?” I ask. He really did distract me before with his utter delectableness.

Before he can answer, we reach his car and he walks me to the passenger side. He presses me against the door so that every inch of our bodies are touching. He puts his fingers under my chin to tip my head back so that I can gaze into his stunning sapphire eyes. With his other hand, he runs his knuckles gently across my cheek before saying, “Now what fun would it have been if I did what you expected? It’s our first date and I want to do it right, so that means I get to chauffeur you around and buy you pretty flowers and tell you how damn sexy you look.”

He leans his face into mine and lightly brushes his lips against mine. His tongue flicks out and licks my lips, begging for entrance. He bites my lower lip and sucks on it almost to the point of being painful and I open to him immediately. I reach my arms around his neck and twist my fingers into his silky, chocolate brown hair. He moves his hands so that one is around my waist and the other is fisted at the nape of my neck.

We kiss wildly and passionately for what seems like forever. Our hands are roaming and exploring. His hand at my waist spans my entire rib cage and grazes dangerously close to the underside of my breast.

When we hear the group of rowdy, drunken party goers yell, “Dude, get a room” we break the kiss. Reid stares at me from under his lustfully lowered lids. “Beautiful, Maddy. You are so damn beautiful and one fucking outrageously good kisser.” He winks and then opens my door for me. I see him try to readjust himself as he walks in front of the car.

Probably wishes he could take another cold shower right about now.

When he takes his seat, he reaches across the center console and gear shift to hold my hand. Once our fingers are intertwined, he raises my hand up to his lips and sweetly kisses it.

“So Maddy, are you ready for the best date ever?” he asks smiling a ridiculously goofy grin. It’s a grin that I can’t help but send back his way. “Yes, Reid, I’m ready. I’m ready for whatever you’ve got up those sexy sleeves of yours.”

Jenn’s Review of Let Love In
That excerpt made you swoon a little right… Yeah well be prepared because Reid is one swoon worthy man!  I couldn’t get over him easily, he is hot and passionate and so sweet.  The things that he does for Maddy are above and beyond!

Sweet Maddy has lost her family, at a young age her heart was ripped from her chest when her parents died suddenly.  She was left with an aunt who was aging.  But having to pick up and move to an unknown location also brought Maddy her best friend.  Without Mel and Momma C, Maddy might have been really lost.  When Mel and Maddy leave to head to college she decides that she is going to pretty much find herself and become a new person with a good outlook on life.  What she doesn’t expect to find is the love of her life… The challenge is making him realize it too…

Reid is broken and Oh how I love the broken ones… His issues are deeper then most and he hides is VERY well.  The night he meets Maddy at a house party, he realizes that someone can see the real him, the pain and hurt behind those beautiful eyes of his. Why?  Because he sees the same in hers.  So he does the only thing he can possibly do.  He shuts down and runs… Yeah typical… the good news is that when he finally let’s himself get out of his own way and realizes that no matter how hard he tries the electricity and connection between him and Maddy cannot be denied… But is what he has to offer enough for Maddy and can they both move past their insecurities and let the other in? Well your going to have to read it to find out.

As much as Maddy’s story is heartbreaking, Reid’s story will tear you apart.  I want to hug him… Tell him that real life should not be so cruel and that he deserves better then the crappy hand that he has been dealt in his life…. Yeah I’m getting tears just thinking about it right now.  sniff sniff… :-(  Just wait you’ll feel it too…

Here’s what I can tell you… If I had a scale of 1-10 for swoon… well Reid would get a 20!  He is off the charts with the sweet things that he does and the stuff he will do to make sure that Maddy has everything she desires and has never had.  But their relationship isn’t perfect and his past leads Maddy to some trust issues, mostly based on her insecure feelings about loving and losing people.  She’s lost everyone she’s ever truly loved.

There are some major plot twists at the end of this book and it will lead the story into book two… just when you think things couldn’t be more perfect you will hit a brick wall and do a complete double take… shaking head… I still cannot believe what happened at the very end…

The character development and progression of the relationship was really done well.  For a first time author the book was really written quite well, I was impressed.  There were a few things I would have liked to see done a little differently, but they didn’t take away from the story at all.
My only disappointment was that it ended and left me waiting till book 2… sigh…  Let Love in is a solid 4.5 star read from Melissa and I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on more…

I’ve always been an avid reader. Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer. Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer. I’ve spent the last ten years teaching and I’ve loved (mostly) every minute of it. When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity. My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldn’t wait to get it out there. I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Teaser from Searching for Moore:
He leaned down next to her ear and whispered, “I want to make you happy.”

Mia put her hand to his face, brushing her thumb across his cheek and smiling into his beautiful clear blue eyes. “You make me very happy.” Schooner reached down and unbuttoned the top button on her Levi’s. He slid the zipper down and eased his hand into her underwear. His eyes never left hers and the smile on his face was real. He dipped a finger into her and she moaned.
“I love how wet you are.” He pulled his wet finger out and rubbed it on her clit. Her eyes grew large with surprise and he laughed, “Did I get the right spot.” All she could do was nod vigorously. “Feels good, huh?” She continued to nod, her smile matching his. He pulled her jeans and underwear down together and she kicked them off her feet. “Much better,” he acknowledged. He dipped two fingers into her and moved them to a spot on the front wall that made her gasp. His smile took on a devilish lilt – he knew he had her now.

He pulled his fingers out of her and slipped his forefinger into his mouth, sucking it slowly. “You taste good,” he ran his middle finger, which had just been inside of her, along her lips. She reached for his hand and sucked his middle finger into her mouth, tasting herself. She licked his finger from base to tip and then sucked it back in her mouth. “You are killing me,” he growled.
She smiled, “Good.”
And he laughed. Bending down, he nipped her playfully on her hipbone and kept nipping in a line to the top of her thighs. “Now we’ll see who is going to kill who,” and with that he buried his face in her, taking the tip of his tongue and licking slowly from back to front. When he reached her clit, he stopped and pulled his tongue away.
“Noooooo,” she moaned.
He smiled and without lifting his head said, “No? As in no more? Ok, if that’s what you want.”
“Motherfucker,” she growled and he smiled at her “Inner New Yorker” surfacing and the shy girl getting lost somewhere in the heat of the moment. He felt her hands in his hair, pressing his face back toward her pussy.
“Are you trying to tell me you want more?” He was most amused, “I’m not quite understanding what you are telling me, Mia.”
“Son of a bitch!” She yelled, laughing at the same time.
“Umm, hate to break it to you, but those are not the magic words to get you what you want.”
She sprang up in one move and knocked him on his back, surprising him. “Then, I’ll just take what I want.”
“What is it you want, Baby Girl?” He was breathless.
“You,” she stared intently into his eyes. Suddenly very serious.
“Why is that?”
“Because,” she searched his face, “because I love you.”
And there they were, the words he had shared with her earlier. And she was now saying them back to him. He hadn’t scared her away. He smiled at his sweet little freckle-faced Baby Girl, flipped her back over onto her back and made his way down between her thighs again. “Excuse me,” he said, “but I was rudely interrupted.”

This is the beginning of an atypical romance.

When artist Nate Wilson falls in love, he falls hard. The problem is, he’s only been in love once, and the girl of his affections is his best friend, Emi Hennigan. In high school, the two bonded over painful breakups, and swore off a relationship to save their friendship. Thirteen years later, Nate has had more than his share of emotionally-unfulfilling, sexual relationships with beautiful women to distract himself from his true romantic feelings.

When a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity takes Nate away from his friend and his comfortable lifestyle, he is forced to reflect on the distinct void that Emi’s absence leaves in his life. To Nate’s surprise, Emi has a similar experience; but as the friends embark upon their journey toward happiness together, destiny reveals other plans for Emi.

Tonya’s Review of Lost & Found
Have you ever felt that feeling, the one that takes your breath away, makes your heart race, your skin tingle, and leaves you wanting more? Leaves you searching for that feeling again? Emi has. Once, nine years ago. The source of that feeling is her very best friend of thirteen years, Nate. Or is it? Emi was quite drunk that night when Nate showed up to rescue her from the frat boy taking advantage of her. Was it all her imagination or was that feeling real? Emi has been searching for that feeling ever since. Nate couldn’t believe Emi actually kissed him, of course she was drinking, but he’d been waiting for it for what seemed like forever. He remembers every detail but does she? Nine years later he’s still trying to find love like he feels with the one woman he can’t have. Will these two ever get it together??

Two people in love with each other and neither one realizes it. Emi wants to find love because she’s tired of being alone. She will never have the man she really wants and none of the guys she dates compare to him. Nate is a serial dater. He falls in love fast and hard and falls out of love just as quickly. Every woman he dates is just to try and distract him from his feelings for Emi. Until he takes an out of town art job and comes to the realization that he can’t keep doing what he’s been doing. When Emi shows up to surprise him the pieces start to fall into place. Finally! Can they make this work? Nate thinks so but Emi needs a little more convincing. And Nate will do everything in his power to make her see they are meant to be together.

I couldn’t put this one down! I read it in one sitting! At times I felt like I was right there in New York with them. I felt like I knew both of them personally and at times wanted to smack them both for being blind. The story had me emotionally charged, I laughed, I cried, and wanted to throw my Kindle a few times too. Nate is such a sweet, caring, sometimes naive guy, it makes you want to reach out and hug him or shake him depending on the chapter. And Emi is so cautious at times and so free spirited at others. Not always at the right times either. The writing makes you feel as if you are so in touch with the story and the characters. Lori definitely knows how to keep your interest. And the cliffhanger at the end!! I cannot wait to read Time Stands Still and Never Look Back!! I NEED to know what happens next!! 4.5 Stars for Lost and Found!!

Title: Good Vibrations (Welcome to Paradise, #1)
Author: S. L. Scott
Release date: June 10, 2013
Age Group: New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance

I grab her exploring finger just as it reaches my happy trail—a trail that if I let her wander down further will lead us to do things we can’t take back. Things like three-word phrases being confessed that would end me if I was rejected. Things like selfishly wanting to own her body and doing things to her that would make my fantasies blush. And things like making her promises too soon that won’t do either of us any good. She makes me want a future that’s not possible, and one I don’t deserve.

Listening to my ego got me into this situation. Will listening to my heart get me out?

Jenn’s Review of Good Vibrations
Ok so let’s talk about this freaking awesome, amazing, super out of this world read… Do you think I liked it?  I was first introduced to S.L. Scott’s work with A Prior Engagement and that book made me a fan for life.  So when we got the invitation to this tour I jumped up and said YES PLEASE!!!!  I didn’t know what to expect from this book after reading the last book from her I was expecting Romance and ANGST galore and I got that and then some!

When the book starts out our heroine is landing in Paradise… Literally. Like as in Hawaii.  I mean who would EVER pass up a chance at visiting their best friend for a whole summer in a place with pristine beaches, constant sunshine, and not to mention hotties!  Ok so she gets off the plane and what does she see… A man and woman sharing tearful goodbye with a promise to write and keep in touch, what she doesn’t know is that the guy will not be keeping in touch and that well he is somewhat considered the island playboy… She’s disgusted by him as he eye’s her while he is saying goodbye to what she believes is his girlfriend… Thus their first encounter and her instant hatred of the island playboy…

Mallory isn’t your typical easy catch she’s a challenge, she is snarky and even somewhat cynical at times.  She’s been hurt by boyfriends past and when she’s stranded at the airport by her best friend Sunny, she runs into Mr. Hottie, the one that disgusted her just a few minutes ago… Evan Ashford offers Mallory a ride and she gets more then just a ride to her friends house…

So their relationship isn’t all sunshine and roses, and let me tell you their path to each other is snarled by island rivalries, their own apprehension, insecurities and their immense desire to not get hurt.  Mallory tries to date Noah and island native who is sweet and funny and very into her but she cannot shake free of Evan so easily.  These two fight like a married couple!!!! It’s funny and almost painful at times and you sometimes want to smack the crap out of them and say WAKE UP!!!!

Evan isn’t the spoiled rich boy that is pampered and privlidged as I expected from the beginning and I will tell you that he will make you SWOON… Evan is truly misunderstood and Mallory sees right through all his BS.  He works as a surf instructor at a hotel… Trust me the man doesn’t need to work…

Evan repeatedly insists he isn’t the relationship kind of guy so why would he bother???  Well Mallory challenges him in a way mentally that no other girl has ever been able to do.  He holds some secrets, like why he and Noah are no longer friends…  There is some really serious tension there… I’d like to tell you that you find out what that’s all about but at the end of this book I’m still clueless.

I have to say even with the cliffhanger and the book 2 teaser at the end that will leave you jaw dropped and wondering how things could turn that way, I felt at peace with where the two of them end up…

This book is off the charts with the hotness factor, I wasn’t really expecting it because my first introduction to her writing was more sweet and sensual then hot and feisty… I say BRAVO she’s found her inner goddess and it transpires to paper perfectly!  Evan is just awesome.  sigh… He will make you mad, piss you off completely and then make you fall head over heels in love with him… This one is not to be missed.  I’ve already told her she needs to write faster, and that I need the next book stat!  She has assured me that we won’t have long to wait which is AWESOME!!!!! Good Vibrations gets 5++++ STARS from me I really and truly loved this book and think that it should be very high on everyone’s TBR!  Evan and Mallory are worth every minute of this read and then some…

Book Title: Twinsequences

Author:  Jennifer Foor

Release Date: Tentative release date July 7th

I’d shared everything with Ivy since we were born. She was my exact double. We were only two minutes apart. I never thought that my own twin sister would steal away my one chance at happiness, but that is exactly what she’d done. She didn’t even know that I was in love with him. How could she? Ivy was too busy being Miss Popular to notice what I wanted.

After having my heart broken, I’d decided to leave my town, and my sister, to go to college out of state. For the past four years, I’d done nothing but work to make a life for myself. We were still the best of friends, but going home was too hard for me to face and I hadn’t been back since they’d gotten married.

I wanted my sister to be happy, even if it meant I never would be. She didn’t have the brains, or the successful future that I knew was coming to me.

But, she’d always have the one thing I wanted.
The one thing, I could never have.
Stoshua Wheeler.

A late night phone call brought me back to town. I should have never considered her request. It wasn’t right to pretend to be her, but she said she was in trouble. I had to help her.

I’d dreamed of being her for five years. I envied their relationship. I wanted her life.

What was I willing to risk to take it for myself?

I’m Willow Green and this is my story.

Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier.

One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.

She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?

For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.

Amazon Pre-order:

“I have an idea,” Tristan said, moving around the kitchen counter, and into the dining room.

He opened up a drawer of the desk that ran along the far wall.

“That sounds ominous,” I said, following him.

“On a scale of one to ten, how much do you like the last guy that you slept with?” Tristan asked me with an arched brow and a crooked smile, flashing those dimples at me.  He used those things like a weapon.

“My ex?  Negative five, since I’m feeling mellow right now,” I said instantly.

He nodded.  “Exactly.  The last girl I hooked up with threw a drink at another chick for smiling at me, and the one before that started nagging me about my drinking after we’d hooked up one time.  Sex turns women into nagging psychos, and it turns men into straight-up assholes.  Now, how much do you like me?”

I wrinkled my nose at him.  “Right this second?  Well, this little speech is kind of annoying but I do kind of like you most of the time.  I’ll give you a solid five.”

He just grinned, not at all offended.  I don’t think he would have known what to do with me if I wasn’t giving him shit.  “Well, I give you a ten, which averages our friendship out to a solid seven, making you one of my favorite people of all time.  I’d like to maintain our average, so I say we make a list.”

He had actually gotten a pen and paper out, and I made sure he saw me roll my eyes.

His grin just widened.  “That’s what I love most about you.  I never have to wonder what you’re thinking.  It’s all right there on your lovely face.”

My scowl just deepened as I saw what he was writing.

Because I like you too much to sleep with you

I sighed loudly.  “What is the point of this?  We don’t need to write it down.”

He straightened, giving me a look that made things low in my body clench in the most delicious way.  His gaze was borderline obscene as he eyed me, top to bottom.

He swallowed hard.  “I need to.  God, Danika, even your feet are fucking sexy to me, and I like you too fucking much to screw it up.  I want to be around you.  I’d be sad if you we didn’t see each other anymore, and I’m batting zero at the relationship thing.  I’m a good friend, though, so yeah, I need a real clear ‘don’t’ list, so I don’t screw it up.”

I smirked at him.  “My feet, huh?  My feet are really that sexy?  You crazy horn-dog.”

I didn’t want a relationship with him, either.  I knew that it would mean the end of us as friends, but knowing that he found me that sexy made me warm all over.  It didn’t make me feel dirty to have him look at me like that, it made me feel special.  It was a novelty for me, to be sure.

He laughed and nodded, giving me really good eye contact.  “Yes.  It’s a problem.  I’m a man-whore, and you would tempt a saint.  Let’s find a way to keep our friendship safe.”

I liked that, liked that he valued my company more than my body.  I nodded, finally giving him smile for smile.  “Yes.  That makes sense.  Sex isn’t worth it anyway.  It never leaves me with anything but a need for a date with my vibrator, and that’s if I’m lucky.”

He groaned and slapped his forehead.  “I need to get that image out of my head.  That was cruel.  Do you mean that your last boyfriend didn’t make sure you got off?”  He asked the question like he just couldn’t help himself.  I knew him well enough to know that he couldn’t.

I laughed, trying not to make it sound as bitter as it actually was.  “No.  I’m saying that none of them did.  They couldn’t find a clit with a map.  Selfish pricks.”

He ran a hand over his face, and it went a little slack before he looked at me again.  “That hurts me deep in my soul, Danika.  I wouldn’t do that to you.  I’d make sure you came, first and last.  I’d go down on you every time, if that’s what you like.  I’d lick—“

I held up a hand, giving him an arch look, though I was far from unaffected by his little speech.  I wanted badly to see if he was really that good, but I shook myself out of it.

He grimaced.  “Sorry, sorry.  That was out of line.  You can’t tell me stuff like that.  It makes me want to punch somebody and, well, do things to you that do not need to be spoken out loud.  But it does prove my point about me needing a ‘don’t’ list.”

I nodded.  It was becoming apparent that we both needed one.  “Yes.  Don’t you worry about poor old me.  I like my vibrator just fine.  Better than any cock that’s ever come near me, in fact.”

He closed his eyes, lowered his head, and held up one finger as though he needed a moment.

I giggled, because I had been trying to torment him, and I saw by the oversized bulge in his jeans that I’d succeeded.

I snapped my fingers at him.  “Okay, okay, let’s get on with it.  Get started with your list.”

1. No sex, no making out, no kissing.

“No getting off and thinking about you?” I asked.  Yes, I was trying to torment him.

He held up that finger that made me giggle again.  He looked like he was thinking hard for a long moment, finally shaking his head.  “Nope.  Can’t do that.  Sorry.  It’s like saying I won’t get hard when I see you wearing a bikini.  It would just be a lie.  But I won’t torture you with the details, I swear.”

I nodded, still smiling.  Teasing just never got old with him.  He made it so much fun.  He made absolutely everything fun.  “The same,” I told him.  “I’ll try not to be too loud when I cry out your name as I get myself off.”

He shook his head, looking pained.  “So jacked up,” he muttered under his breath.

After a long pause, he started writing again without another word.

2. No getting jealous or complaining about who the other one is dating or hooking up with.

“That goes for you too, right?” I asked archly.  “No hitting guys in bars for looking at me funny.”

“I didn’t hit him.  I just choked him a little.”

“Um, yeah, that sounds worse than punching.  Not helping your argument.”

He completely ignored that, writing.

3. We can hang out whenever we want, but we won’t call it a date, even if we’re doing date-like things

“Would oral be considered date-like?” I asked, just messing with him, as usual.  I’d never been able to have sexual banter with a man that didn’t end up making me feel like shit.  It was just the opposite with Tristan.  For some reason, it made me feel warm and fuzzy every time.

He sent me a twisted grin.  “I’m pretty sure that would be breaking the no kissing rule.”

“Pretty sure leaves wiggle room.”

He gave me a look that could only be described as longing.  “I do love the way you wiggle.”

I giggled.

He went back to writing.

4. No nagging.

“That counts for you, too.  No telling me when I’ve had too many shots.  That’s for me to decide.”

He sent me an exasperated look.  “Well, if you drink enough shots that you climb on the bar to dance, and some guy grabs you, don’t nag me for beating the shit out of him.”

“That sounds like a clear violation of rule number,” I pointed out.

“That’s not jealousy.  That’s me being protective of my buddy.”

I rolled my eyes.  It was a fine line.

He started writing again.

5. Always remember that we like each other too much to sleep together, and that sleeping together will ruin EVERYTHING.

6.  If the words ‘I love you’ are ever mentioned, it will be assumed that it is in a friendship type context.

7. No talking dirty, or talking about dates with your vibrator.

He sighed, immediately crossing #7 out.

7. No talking dirty, or talking about dates with your vibrator.

“That one is just no fun at all,” he explained.

I giggled.  Only Tristan could make me giggle.

He sent me a warm smile.

“I named my vibrator after you,” I told him with a smirk.  “He’s small, but he makes up for it by working hard.”

He straightened, moving a little close to show me just how small he wasn’t.  I backed up to the edge of the table, and he followed.

He gave me his sinful smile.  “I’m big like this everywhere.  Don’t make me prove it to you.”

I rolled my eyes.  “Every guy says that.  It would be refreshing to meet a guy that just admitted to being average-sized, or God forbid, small.”

He shook his head.  “You want me to do something crazy.  I see your game now.  Not falling for it.”

I couldn’t hold back a smile, because I had been egging him on.  The man was so outrageous, he’d do anything on a dare.  I shrugged.  “I’ll never know, but in my imagination it’s very clearly average, bordering on small.  No way to change it.”

He pursed his lips, his fingers going to the button on his jeans.

I slapped my hands over my eyes, running away and giggling like a kid.

He overtook me in seconds, picking me up easily.  He flung me over his shoulder, heading to the back door.

I knew where this was leading.

“Put me down!” I screeched between giggles.  “I just washed my hair!”

“Every time you make me want to pull my dick out for you, for any reason, I’m throwing you in the pool.  This is for the sake of our friendship, Danika.”

I was already flying through the air before he’d finished talking.  I heard him say Danika right before my head went under.

The bastard.  A quote from Danika not long after…

“It wasn’t a don’t list, you douche bag!  It may as well have been a fucking to-do list!”
