For four years, Grace Sullivan wrote to a Marine she never met, and fell in love. But when his deployment ended, so did the letters. Ever since that day, Grace has been coasting, academically and emotionally. The one thing she’s decided? No way is Noah Jackson — or any man — ever going to break her heart again.

Noah has always known exactly what he wants out of life. Success. Stability. Control. That’s why he joined the Marines and that’s why he’s fighting his way — literally — through college. Now that he’s got the rest of his life on track, he has one last conquest: Grace Sullivan. But since he was the one who stopped writing, he knows that winning her back will be his biggest battle yet.

This is a mature New Adult book. I see that it is classified as YA – not sure how to change that – but I wanted to be clear that it has explicit love scenes in the story.

My Review of Undeclared
I really enjoyed this story.  The characters were well developed, there was just one plot line that I thought got lost somewhere in the mix but it didn’t deter me from enjoying this book.

Grace is a girl that is confused as are most girls her age.  After years of writing to a solider that started out as a school project, she fell hard and fast for Noah.  They wrote beautiful letters back and forth for years before Noah decided to leave the military.  Grace was certain that he was her prince charming, but when Noah decided to send Grace a Dear John type letter letting her down she completely retreated into herself…  Grace had already led a difficult life now she was away at college and lonely, so lonely, no meaningful relationships because she vowed to never feel the hurt again she felt when Noah’s letter arrived…

Noah Jackson was a Marine, having had a rough childhood and a father he hated, once Noah graduated high school he knew his way to break free was the military.  He and his best friend Bo enlisted and were sent to Afghanistan.  Life in the desert wasn’t easy but it was made a lot better when he started getting letter and care packages from a high school student working on a school project.  What he didn’t know is that Grace would become his reason for wanting to be a better man and wanting something he never truly had.  A family.  After years of being overseas when he was discharged from the military he was in a bad place.  Needing to get his life in order he spent his time making himself someone that Grace would be proud of, someone deserving of her.  What he didn’t know was that blow off letter may have ruined any chance he had at winning her over…

Grace was a stubborn girl, and when Noah came back into her life she was hell bent on making him suffer the way she had since receiving that letter… She was so funny, she made me laugh a lot, but she also made me sad.  Noah was infuriating at times, boy did he make me crazy!   The story was done very well overall and I really enjoyed getting to know these characters.  Bo, Noah’s best friend cracked me up and I loved how protective their roommates were of Grace.

Overall this was a good read and I do recommend that you give it a shot… There is another book coming out that will be Bo’s story and I’m excited for that one.  I really loved his character and think that there is a lot more to him then meets the eye… He is portrayed in a specific light but I have a feeling deep down it isn’t who he truly is, he’s hiding… We shall see if I’m right…

I give Jen a solid 4 stars on this read.  The only thing that I would have changed was moving forward one part of the plot that sort of disappeared at the end. But other then that it’s a great read and a beautiful love story about finding yourself and discovering that sometimes what we want in life is worth fighting for…

Here is an Excerpt from Undeclared:
I felt Noah’s body heat behind mine. He wasn’t going anywhere. But I could ignore him.
But a clearly tipsy Lana and an every drunker Amy were coming down the stairs as I reached the first landing. Jack was nowhere to be seen. New plan.
“You two ready to go?” I asked. Lana was wide-eyed and mouthed, “He’s right behind you” to me. Correction–Lana wasn’t tipsy. She was drunk.
“I know,” I said, “and you aren’t invisible to him. I’m sure he can see you.”
“Yup,” Noah affirmed.
“Oh no!” Lana said “What about your cure?”
“Are you sick?” Noah asked, coming up to the landing to look at me intently.
“Not that kind of cure, silly,” Lana said before I could open my mouth. She was feeling no pain. She stumbled down the stairs dragging Amy behind her. “Cure for heartache.” Thanks Lana, I thought, as if I hadn’t been humiliated enough before.
“I’ll drive y’all home,” Noah said. “My truck is out front.”
“You can’t park on the street,” Lana said, poking one long fingernail into his chest. When her poke found no purchase, she began patting. “Wow, this is like marble. Amy,” Lana turned and held up their joined hands, “feel this.” At which point both girls proceeded to pat Noah’s apparently very hard chest.
He, at least, had the grace to look embarrassed by this. I had to hustle Lana out before her drunken state revealed something even more embarrassing, although at this point, I wasn’t sure what that could be.

William and Everleigh may come from different worlds, but their attraction is instant and their love undeniable. Hoping love conquers all, they will find out if their love is unstoppable when faced with the consequences of breaking a prior engagement.
“Right here, right now is all that matters.”
My interview with William Ryder
I’m meeting up today with William Ryder from A Prior Engagement in NYC, it’s a beautiful spring afternoon.  I don’t live far from New York so this meeting was a breeze and I do love NYC in the spring time.  We are meeting up at Bean There (shhhh… don’t tell William I don’t like coffee).

I spot him right away he is devilishly handsome in person, even more so than Evie described for us… I walk straight over to the table, which I assume is his favorite table…

J: Hello William it’s so nice to meet you. (I reach out to shake his hand)

W: Hi, Jennifer. It’s nice to meet you too. (I shake her hand, hoping she can’t tell I’m a little nervous. I can’t seem to get used to the attention over my career and the interest into my personal life. I pull the chair out for her and sit down.) Can I buy you a coffee or tea?

J: Thank you I will take and Ice Tea actually thank you.

William walks away to get our drinks, when he returns I smile at him as he places the ice tea down in front of me.

J: So William I have to say that after reading about your journey I was quite smitten with your passion and perseverance.  It’s very rare to find these days and honestly it’s a completely sexy quality in a man.
W: (I look down at the pen sitting on the table in front me, picking up to spin it through my fingers while looking up to meet her eyes). Sexy? Really? Ummm… my parents told me I can do anything I set my mind to and am willing to work hard enough to achieve. They work hard and they’re happy. I wanted that for my life. It wasn’t about money for me, although that can make things easier sometimes. I just felt that I wanted to do what I wanted to do, not have to settle for a job to make ends meet. It’s worked out.
J: Let’s start from the beginning shall we?
W: Alright, I’m ready.
J: When you first saw Evie sitting at your table what was running through your head?  Besides of course that she was sitting at your table?
W: (I laugh, remembering that moment so well) I’d seen her a few times in class. I probably shouldn’t say this. She might finally realize she married a creep. But I’d started looking for her in class. I found her fascinating and beautiful. She didn’t look like a typical girl at school. She stood out. I know for a fact that this other guy had his eye on her as well. Each class that guy moved one row down and several seats closer to her. I made sure to sit closer though. Wait (I look back at Jennifer) I’ve gotten off track. Sorry about that. Should we call our meeting here that day destiny? I still wanted my table, but I was okay that it was her who stole it. I made a big production of taking the table next to her. Because of all the times that I had seen her, that day, I wanted her to see me.
J: Throughout the book she kept running off for prior commitments and obligations, did it ever occur to you once that there was something not quite right about it?  That there was something she just wasn’t telling you about why she kept running off?
W: I felt it was strange, a bit off, but I didn’t feel I knew her well enough at the beginning to pry. When I look back on that time now, a lot happened in a short amount of time. When Evie and I started spending more time together, I started asking her how much time we had those days. I felt selfish, but (I shrug) I wanted as much time as I could get. Some signs were there that I should have picked up on. She didn’t owe me anything. I mean we were friends. I was just drawn to her and wanted more. Eh, she tells this story much better than I do. All of that just doesn’t matter now. We focus on the present and our future.
J: What is your biggest regret after you found out what happened to her in the few days she wasn’t attending class?
W: (That lump in my throat returns. It’s the same one I always get when remembering that time. I try to gulp it down, but it stays. My voice is gonna crack and I hate that.) Um, (clears throat) I, uh, I was mad at her. I was hurt. I turned my back on her when she needed me most. She was used to being ignored, told to be silent. She suffered in silence for years, but she tried to tell me, to explain, and I walked away, not wanting to hear it. I can’t help but think if I would have given her that chance to explain, things could have changed. That could have been the turning point instead and all the rest of the bad stuff avoided. But I’ll never know because I walked away. I’ll never forgive myself for that.
J: I want to go back to the night of the charity event, did you at any point think that it was a crazy idea knowing that Tom would be there and what could possibly happen to her if things went badly?  That whole scene had me on the edge of my seat in panic…
W: I wanted him to know I loved her and I wasn’t gonna cower to him. I wanted everyone at that event to see. A big public declaration was the only way I could protect her if it didn’t turn out the way it did. They would know who he really was, the monster he was. He couldn’t touch her because all eyes would be on them. They’d be the gossip of the city and watched too closely. Audrey, Evie’s sister, helped with the plan. She knew the inner workings of that world. I had to trust her and I did. If it didn’t work, plan B was Evie could leave him and no one would be surprised. We knew she didn’t care what they thought at that point anyway. It was a twisted plan, dumb even. So much could’ve gone wrong. I’m just glad it didn’t.
J: Is there anything new in the Tom situation?  I have to say I’d like to see him tortured for his wrong doings.  It was hard to witness for us reading the story I cannot imagine what it’s been like to live it…
W: Can I be the torturer? As long as he stays away from my family, I try not to think of him. He did a little time upstate at a fancy prison. He deserves (I feel my hand tighten into a fist, so I move it under the table. I hope she didn’t notice)… He should hope to never run into me or give me a reason to seek him out. Let’s just leave it at that.
J: So tell me how are things now?  When we left you two you had just gotten quite the shocker.  Are you still intimidate by the wealth?
W: Money is just that, money. It’s complicated and different. I refuse to just sit by and let it dictate my life, or do nothing in life because it’s there. I’ve faced reality. It’s there and there’s a lot of it, but it still feels kind of weird to know we have it, to know I have access to it. Evie may have put my name on the accounts, but it feels like hers still. She earned every penny by surviving the way she did. What did I do other than fall in love with a pretty brunette with great eyes, and a great as—(something grabs my attention through the coffee shop window. I smile when I see Evie wave then tap her watch). Don’t get me wrong though. I make a good living, but it’s great security that allows us to live in the city more than comfortably. We don’t touch it much. Like I said, it’s security, but it’s nice to have found some success in my chosen career.
J: Ok this is a question that I love to ask all of my interviewees… Tell us one thing about yourself that we don’t already know. (I wink at him)
W: (Jennifer just winked at me. She’s cute, but yeah, I look at Evie who is currently sticking her tongue out at me and laughing. I’m taken heart and soul. I smile at Jennifer, trying to ignore the sexy woman outside until the interview is over). Hmmm… sharing secrets is not my favorite thing to do, but let me think. (I rub my chin). I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’ve started cycling again. I started getting recognized when I was out after my second book came out, which made me riding my bike around, trickier. Then one time I had to leave a situation fast and left my bike. It was on ebay that night for thousands. I loved that bike too. I had my agent buy it back for me covertly. (I laugh because that still cracks me up) But here in the city, I love the vibe and the pulse of the city is energizing and gets my mind going. I can clear out the traffic and focus my thoughts just like when I was a messenger. I just wear a satchel and sunglasses and hope I’m mistaken for another bike messenger instead of spotted as me. Is that ridiculous? Did I just blow my own cover?
J: Well William I know you’re a busy man so I don’t want to keep you any longer.  I thank you for taking the time to sit down and talk with me today.  It was really nice to meet you in person. (I reach to shake his hand as I stand from my chair)
W: (taking her hand, I shake it) Thank you for the interview. This was fun and it was really nice to meet you too, Jennifer. (I stand) I do need to get going. I have a date with my wife who gets a little jealous when I have coffee with other women, (I laugh) probably even more so here at Bean There. Have a great day and keep me posted about the article. Thanks again. (As soon as I walk out I see the glint in Evie’s eye.
She smirks then says, “She was pretty.”
I laugh as I wrap my arm around her shoulders pulling her against me. I kiss her on the head, then reply, “Yep, she was. OW!”
She’s laughing. She knows I’m just messing with her. “Pretty, huh?”
“Have I told you lately how pretty I think you are and that you have great eyes, and really great ass?”
“No, tell me again.”
“I told you this morning, so I’d rather show you how great I think you are. C’mon, let’s skip lunch and go home.”)
As I leave the coffee house I decide to take a walk through the park to reflect back on my interview with William and soak up some of the sun.  I think of Evie as I stroll and how much she loves the park.  I head home after a few hours of walking and taking in the sites and make a pact with myself to go back to the city soon…
I gave this book 5 STARS it was unique and different and unlike anything I had read before… You can view my review on Goodreads here…

Title: Waiting on Forever
Author: Ashley Wilcox
Release date: April 29, 2013
Genre:Contemporary Romance
Age Group: Adult

Parties, sororities and getting drunk.
Oh, yeah. And learning.
This may be true for most college students, but not for Leah Bennett.  College life for her includes studying, working, and excelling in school.  When it comes to the social ladder, Leah is at the bottom.  Popular girls, hot guys and star athletes are of no importance to her, except for one.
Matthew Jacobs.
Matt is the starting wide receiver at SUNY Cortland, the most wanted guy on campus and Leah’s best friend.  Although Leah’s feelings toward Matt run deeper than just a friendship, it is something she would never let be heard because the odds of someone like Matthew Jacobs going for someone like Leah Bennett are slim to none.
When Matt starts showing an interest in Leah that goes beyond friendship, she is dumbfounded and doesn’t believe it is possible – until one weekend that changes everything.
Will Matt and Leah’s popularity status get in the way of having a chance at a real relationship?
Or does status mean nothing when it comes to true love?
Jenn’s Review of Waiting on Forever

Ashley’s Forever series is so good.  I loved the first book and I was so excited to dive into this second book in the series.  IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

This was a classic tale of the popular boy falling in love with the not so popular girl… I loved every minute of it!
Matthew Jacobs is the popular boy.  Star of the football team, most wanted guy on campus, typically he’d date the most popular girl or head cheerleader right?  Well not this time. Instead, Matt falls for the girl that is least likely to grab anyone’s attention.  He thinks she is beautiful yet she can’t see why he would want her when he could have his pick.  Matt has lead a crazy and heartbreaking life to this point.  He wants nothing more than to be loved and accepted.  He doesn’t want a one-night stand or a fake girl that wants him for his status.  He needs someone to love him and can accept all his faults and his past.

Leah is your typical outcast girl.  She hides herself away, not one of the popular crowd and certainly tries to not be noticed and keep out of trouble. Leah meets Matt on their first day of orientation at college and she is intrigued by him and is attracted to him which is something she has never felt for any guy in the past.  Leah and Matt talked and were friends over the internet but rarely saw each other on campus.  That is until Matt’s transferred to her French class and everything changes for these two.

I loved Matt’s approach to Leah and their relationship.  He doesn’t really ask he just stakes his claim and lets their relationship unfold.  They go through some challenging relationship issues not just with the typical day to day stuff, but some snarky girls that want Matt for themselves.  Typical girls who want what they can’t have and are jealous… When a tragedy strikes and shakes Matt’s world up Leah helps pick up the pieces and keeps him from falling apart… The love that these two share and the bond that builds between them is so sweet.  I fell in love with both characters in this book…  I loved that we got to see Summer and Collin from the first book in the series… They are such a great couple and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series and see their relationship continue… Ashley has such great character development and does a wonderful job working the new and old characters together in the story to continue the current plot development and advance the series story line.  I commend her for this because not all series that I have read do a good job at that.

If you haven’t read the first book Planning on Forever #1 and see how it all began with Collin and Alexa.  Follow up with Waiting on Forever #2 and follow Matt and Leah.  Promising Forever #3 which will be Collin and Summer’s continued story and then Giving You Forever #4 which will follow Alexa and Nolan from the first book… I cannot wait for that one!  I loved Nolan!

Happy Reading!!!!

About the Author

Some may consider me a jack of all trades, but I consider myself well rounded.
I’ve waitressed, styled hair, answered phones and, most recently, worked full time as mom to my two beautiful little boys.
Then there was this book…

Everyone and their brother started talking about this book series titled Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James.  I didn’t really pay attention to the craze at first, since I wasn’t a big reader- okay, I didn’t read at all.  But curiosity got the best of me, so I downloaded it to my kindle.

I was immediately hooked. I read the whole series in three days.  Yes, three books in three days.
I kept finding all these great books that I HAD to read (just ask my credit card!).
Then I started hearing voices. Voices that turned into stories; stories that were begging to get out of my head.
I started writing them down on scraps of paper. Then I transferred them to my computer. Before I knew it,  Planning on Forever was born.
The voices in my head are still talking, so I’m still writing.

“One day I’m going to touch you in a thousand different ways and show you how to touch me,” he said.

And he did.

Struggling with a tormented past, undergraduate Olivia Winter once led a practical but isolated life. Then she met Professor Dean West, a brilliant scholar of medieval history who melted Liv’s inhibitions and taught her the meaning of both love and erotic pleasure. But after three years of a blissful, lusty marriage, Liv and Dean now face a crisis that threatens everything they believe about each other…and sex might not be enough to save them.

Jenn’s Review of Arouse:
When I first started this story I wasn’t really sure where this book would lead?  Olivia and Dean seemed to have the perfect life.  He was successful and she was the doting wife that made sure her husband was well taken care of and was able to fulfill his dreams.  But looks can be deceiving and we all know that to be true.

Marriage is difficult… Every couple has rough patches and Olivia and Dean have a point where their marriage falls over a cliff.  I can’t tell you what sets this in motion cause that would spoil it…  But when it does happen their perfect marriage starts to unravel and secrets come out that have the potential to ruin the love that they have for each other.  Trust is huge in a marriage and when that trust is shaken it is very difficult to see past the hurt and anger.

Dean and Olivia have strong chemistry.  What I liked the most was that they were realistic.  Even when things were really good it wasn’t fake or something that you couldn’t really see happening in real life.  It’s nice when fiction doesn’t go over the top.  Olivia was a little scattered, especially when it came to her career.  There were times when I was pretty angry with Dean’s behavior, and with hers as well.

Sometimes we over-think things and don’t talk them out.  Working things out in a marriage when you reach an certain point isn’t always easy and sometimes love isn’t enough to overcome situations. Olivia and Dean share a unique bond and connection, but is it enough to overcome the past, the secrets and the betrayals… I’ll let you find that out for yourself…

I loved the flashbacks to the past, I always love seeing how a couple has come together over time and it was done really well, fitting the past into the present and at the right times.  It didn’t feel scattered like sometimes it can in a book when it’s done this way.

It’s not always about the destination, it’s about the journey and their’s is sweet and heartbreaking at the same time…

I give this one 4 stars.  I liked the book and the characters were well developed. There was a bit of a cliffhanger at the end, which surprised me because somehow I missed the fact that there was another book until I finished this one, I don’t know how that happened… I’m chalking that up to me turning a year older a few days ago!!!!

Thanks for following along and I hope that you enjoy Nina’s Book it is definitely worth a read!

 Tour Hosted by:

Front Man Leo Nash from the world-famous rock band, Nash, is the last person on earth Samantha Williams would trust. She’s already learned about loving a celebrity the hard way and isn’t signing up for another lesson.

Every time Sam gives Leo attitude, he wants to knock that chip off her fragile little shoulder. What the hell did he ever do to her, anyway? He’s not used to women treating him like he’s poisonous, and he isn’t about to let her run away every time he gets close. He’s had enough of people running away to last him a lifetime…when this one runs, he gives chase. But, catching Sam isn’t as hard as he thought.

The sexual attraction between them is so thick, Sam can practically hold it in her hand. There’s no way she can deny herself the promise of pleasure being with Leo would provide. But, pleasure always comes with pain and when secrets are revealed and trust is challenged, who will run and who will chase?
My Review of Rock With Me:

If you have been following along with the series then you know that Leo Nash is the lead singer of the band Nash… He is also Meg’s (Play With Me) brother.  Well they aren’t really brother and sister but Leo is the closest thing that Meg had to a brother growing up.  Both overcoming crappy pasts Leo and Meg have both grown into respectable yet hesitant adults.

Being a big time ROCK STAR people expect things from Leo… His life is a challenge to navigate and he has never invested his time in any woman, groupies only want one thing… That is until Samantha Williams (Luke’s sister from Come Away With Me) walks into Leo’s life… She has the potential to change everything he thought he wanted and needed in life...

Samantha Williams has lead a privileged life, but she has also lived under a microscope due to her famous brother Luke Williams.  We have learned a little about her in the past that she hadn’t had it easy and the people would use her to get close to her brother.  Sam is extremely standoffish at times and not very approachable.  If you remember she didn’t take well to Natalie in the first book of this series.  Under that harsh exterior lies a beautiful caring and loving woman the problem is breaking the walls down that she has built around her and her heart.

I cannot tell you how much I love this book.  It is just another SMASH HIT in the series… Kristen never ceases to amaze me with her depth of characters and her creativity.  Leo and Sam are so perfect for each other… You will find yourself VERY VERY VERY frustrated with both of them at times an then you turn to the next chapter or even next page and start swooning all over again!  This is the gift of Kristen’s writing.  I found myself wanting to rip my hair out in frustration a few times because Sam was so freaking head strong and she just couldn’t get past things at times… Leo was challenging and so cocky and assertive.  But I don’t think Sam ever stood a chance against Leo‘s power of seduction and persuasion

I have dubbed Kristen “Queen of the Scene that will make you pee your pants laughing”.  If you read the last book Play with Me you will remember the scene in the Van when the guys pick the girls up after Jule bachelorette party… Well this one was even funnier!  I laughed so freaking hard my stomach muscles hurt!  I don’t know where she comes up with this stuff, but I promise that you will laugh!  When you get to the part you will know exactly what I mean!  I’m chuckling just thinking about it now while I write this…

This book also holds my favorite moment in all of her books, because it includes my favorite male character from this series… I am a HUGE WILL MONTGOMERY fan and he proves once again in this book why I LOVE HIM SO!!!!!  SWOON!!!!! sigh…

I love how we got a better look at some of the other Montgomery boys, and Sam and Luke’s brother… There is always just enough information to get your mind churning about what’s to come in this series…

I don’t know how the next book will top this book but damn I cannot wait to find out!!!!

Leo and Sam deserve so much more then 5 stars!!!!  Keep em’ coming Kristen we cannot get enough of this series…

Release Even and Tour Host

I should have known by the tattoos that Sawyer was trouble. My mother always said to stay away from boys with ink, but she ignored her own advice. She also abandoned me and my little sister.

Life’s been hard for the two of us, on the run and on our own, but I just turned twenty-one and started working at a bar in a new city. I wear a fake wedding band and a veil of lies.

My gold ring didn’t stop Sawyer. He looked into me with his heavenly green eyes, and I nearly forgot my pretty lies. Now he wants to help me get my life together.

I should stay away, because he could blow my cover. When we get found—and I know one day we will—I want my sister to be old enough to handle the truth about our past.

I may be hanging out with Sawyer, but we’re definitely not dating. I swear, he’s not setting me on fire with every glance or casual touch. We’re just friends. I’m not thinking about him wrapping those tattooed arms around me, every second of every day.

Book 1 in the Runaway Lies Trilogy. New Adult Contemporary Romance.

Fun Fact about For You:

Sawyer’s tattoos were inspired by a cute waiter who served me and my friend breakfast the day I started writing For You. I feel like a sponge sometimes, picking up details from the world around me to put into novels. I love writing in coffee shops, because if I need an idea for a side character, I can just look out at the sidewalk. For example, I left Sawyer’s bike description blank for a few days until I saw a bike in real life that inspired me. I could have just looked something up online, but reality inspires me more.

Sawyer’s POV:

Aubrey had been telling me, in her own way, to keep my distance. But then, just when I was about to back off, she invited me in.

She stood three steps up from me, on those stairs with their dark blue carpets, and said, “There is no husband.”

I honestly thought we were going up to her place for another beer, or to talk about what she’d meant.

Not many of my friends were married, but of the ones that were, all the women wore two rings: the engagement ring, with the diamond, and the wedding band that fit alongside it. Something about Aubrey’s plain gold band had never seemed right to me. No way would any man on this planet, no matter how broke he was, not give a woman that beautiful something equally pretty to show off to her friends.

I’d actually had this crazy thought that maybe she was in a religious cult, and they were all married to their cult leader or something. That happened in a movie I’d just watched, so it was fresh in my mind. I didn’t really believe it, but I knew something was weird about her situation.

I followed her up the stairs to her apartment. My roommate Spanky wasn’t wrong about her having a nice ass. I tried to keep my thoughts under control, but my blood was still racing from dealing with those little shitheads by the front door. I’d wanted to use the one kid as a bowling ball and knock the other ones down—bang their heads together until some manners came tumbling out. Little fuckers like that didn’t understand reasoning and talking things out. That’s what their mothers had been using on them for years, for all the good it did.

If somebody has no sense, you have to smack it into them. That’s just how it is.

Once Aubrey and I got inside the apartment, she looked at me with those pale eyes, and I felt the pull of the moon. The force was stronger than ever, drawing us together.

She let me kiss her, and her sweet lips made me hungry. I stopped thinking. All instinct and desire. Her neck. My mouth on her breasts. Her writhing underneath me. Pushing against me and pulling me to her at the same time. So much confusion and desperation. Up was down, and she let out that sweet cry of relief.

Tonya’s Review of For You
When I first started this book I was really into seeing where it was going to go. There isn’t a whole lot I can say without giving away too much of the story, but I did like the story and the characters.

Who doesn’t love a story with a bad boy with tattoos and a motorcycle?? But Sawyer isn’t your typical bad boy. He’s sweet and caring and doesn’t care that Aubrey has a “daughter”. Aubrey comes off as shy and withdrawn with a sarcastic side, until she opens up.  She is closed off and cautious as to who she lets in her life and is just now finally getting to know a family she was told didn’t exist.  She does everything in her power to avoid the attraction she feels for Sawyer, but she eventually decides to see where it will lead. She finally admits to Sawyer that the wedding band is fake and explains part of the reason why. When she finally comes clean and admits that Bell is actually her sister and they are on the run and why, I almost cheered because it was about time!!

The fact that Sawyer was so supportive and didnt really seem phased by her revelationmade me like him even more. Honestly at times I wanted to shake her for running away from him.  Sawyer just wants to help her get her life together and move past all the bad things haunting her. There were a few times I was a little confused as to where everything was going and why. But then Aubrey would say or do something that made everything make more sense.  I think there could have been a little more background earlier on about Sawyers family.  There was mention of a nephew earlier on but that was it. I must admit that there was a point where Aubrey receives a message that had me in tears.

I give “For You”  4 Stars

Sometimes the life you planned isn’t the one you get to live.  Sometimes the pain of the past overshadows the future.  And sometimes to start over you have to go back to where it all began.  That’s how it was for Joe Masters.  That’s how he ended up back in New Hope.  And that’s why he was in his thirties and had nothing to show for his life.  He needed a complete overhaul, just like his father’s old house.  Instead of a fast track, he had slowed down and was on a ten year plan.  These days that was more his speed.  And as much as he tried to fight the inevitable, he was learning to accept and surrender.
Martha had weathered her fair share of storms in Vermont, was accustomed to the cold, both the chill in the air and the cold shoulder in her marriage, but after the miscarriage she felt like she would never get warm again.  So she did the research from the laptop while sitting in front of the fireplace.  She knew what she needed when she Googled hope, she just never imagined that it would bring her to New Hope, South Carolina.  She never imagined that her husband would trick her into leaving and never follow.  She never imagined that a southern storm with all its force and fury could be so destructive.  But after the storm, the land is washed clean.  It’s perfect for a fresh start, a clean slate, and a new love.

 My Interview with Marti

So since I don’t go south very often I decided that it would be the perfect time to head south to New Hope to visit with Marti from Stormy Surrender… Maybe I’ll even get a peek at that handsome man of hers…

I arrived at Hope House mid-afternoon and met Keely.  She was just a warm and inviting as I had expected.  She showed me to my room and said that she would have dinner ready for Marti and I at five o’clock.  I asked her if Joe was around with a wink but she said no, he was working on the house.  Oh well… maybe I can convince Marti to take me there later… hehehe…

A few minutes before five I make my way downstairs as the front door opens, I immediately see Marti walking in the door.

J: Hello Marti, I’m Jennifer it’s so nice to finally meet you. (I reach for her hand)

M: Nice to meet you, too, Jennifer.  I hope you didn’t have to wait long.  I seem to get caught up in things over at the house.

J: Shall we go sit down, Keely said she would be ready right at five.  She’s so sweet and funny just as I had imagined.

M: Keely was the first person I met in town and she has fast become a friend.  I absolutely adore her!

J: I’m so excited to talk with you about the story and how things are going now and what is to come… I feel like I already know so much about you.

M: (chuckling) Well, you kind of do.

We are briefly interrupted by Keely delivering our dinner and we both pause to thank her.

J: So I want to start at the beginning.  First that husband of yours is a real piece of work.  I don’t know how you did it for as long as you had.  Did you believe that was the way things should be in a relationship?

M: No. I thought he was just caught up in his career and that things would get better if I was just patient.  I was never a demanding wife.  I kept busy with volunteer work.  It wasn’t until I needed him that I realized just where we stood.  Let’s chalk it up to a learning experience.

J: Has he tried to contact you since you left Vermont with your stuff?

M: No. We are pretty much leaving that up to the lawyers now.  There isn’t much left for us to say.  In retrospect, it’s probably best that we didn’t have children.

J: Moving here was the BEST thing that you did, do you have any regrets at all?

M: A few.  I wish I had made a career for myself to fall back on instead of making myself always readily available to support him in whatever respect he needed at the time.  I wish I had known he wasn’t coming down; or that I had thought to stash away money over the years.  Otherwise, I think life is playing out as it should.

J: When you first met Joe, and actually right here in the room if I am not mistaken, what was your first thought about him?

M: Honestly, he was so…abrasive.  And yet something in me recognized something in him.  I think I mentioned that our touch…it just felt like home. (blushes a little)

J: I have to say that he is totally swoon worth… Is he coming by (I wink at her)

M: He might.  He can be a bit unpredictable.

J: I see you are wearing your charm bracelet have you gotten any new ones lately? I have to admit that I melted when he started giving you the charms to mark different occasions…

M:  Would you believe that they don’t make a ‘sorry my ex turned out to be my insurance adjuster’ charm?  There’s a whole market there just waiting to be tapped.  (rolls eyes)

J: Did you ever think that you and Joe would get along as well as you do after the rocky start you had?  He was quite arrogant at times… Specifically when you’d be sitting in what he considered his seat… (I laugh thinking back to their encounters here and at the café)

M: I’m not sure we really get along even now.  That is a part of us.  He can be arrogant and vain and frustrating.  He always thinks he’s right, and sometimes he is, but sometimes he’s just being a jerk.  (she smiles widely)  And yet, I love fighting with him.  I love playing with him.  I love being with him.  There’s a lot of chemistry, a lot of passion between us.

Keely came back into the dining room to check on us and see if we wanted dessert… I’d secretly been hoping for some of that cheesecake that sounded so yummy when she made it.  Fortunately she had some… She came back quickly with our dessert and scampered off again… she is so sweet and nice, I can see why Joe and Marti adore her.

J: Have you ever asked Keely why she was so protective of you and warning Joe to stay away so fiercely?  I felt a little bad for him at times because he was getting a serious beat down from her and the other town folks…

M: I think Keely seems something of her younger self in me.  You know she’s married, right?  Her husband lives in Charlotte.  I think there’s more to that story.  Really, don’t feel sorry for Joe.  He brings this on himself.  (she winks)

J: How is the house coming along? Is it completed yet?

M: That house may be the death of me.  We’ve had to scale back some of the plans.  That has meant more time and less money.  The kitchen cabinets are stock instead of custom.  The tile is actual tile instead of stone.  The sidewalk and driveway are cement instead of cobblestone.  And every time we turn around, there’s some new problem we are discovering.  On the bright side, I can at least live there during the rest of the renovation.

J: When we left off things were starting to go really well and then we got quite the surprise at the end of the book.  Can you tell us anything about what has been happening since then… I know you don’t want to give anything away but maybe just something that is to come? (I give her my best puppy dog face)

M: Well, I refuse to be part of a love triangle.  It’s not a good look for me.  I guess I’m food selfish and guy selfish.  But…you know…I spent the end of my marriage feeling like I wasn’t enough.  I’m not going to let anyone treat me like I’m less than I am no matter how hot, passionate, or good with his hands he may be.

J: Ok last question and then I’ll let you go… I love to ask this of all my interviewees… Tell me one thing that we don’t already know about you.

M: I’m not as alone in the world as people think.  Blaine drove people away.  That’s about to change.

Well thank you so much for meeting with me, I enjoyed getting to know you better… Shame that Joe couldn’t join us maybe next time I’ll get to meet him… Just as I say that the door opens and Joe walks into the room.  I instantly blush as he walks over and gives Marti a kiss on the cheek… He extends his hand toward me and I shake and introduce myself.  I didn’t get to chat with them they had to get going but we said maybe next time we can all meet up together.

I decided to go for a walk for the evening and stroll around town a bit it’s a pretty town and such a nice night.  I was happy to go for a walk and think about my fun time with Marti.  I can truly see why she loves it here… I’ll be spending the night and then heading back home in the morning.

Thanks for reading along with my time with Marti… I hope you enjoyed it…
My Review of Stormy Surrender

I was so excited to start reading this book.  I adore Nicole and her writing… Her last book was so good, so I was ready to dive into another great story…

When I first started reading Stormy I wasn’t hooked, in fact I think I might have wanted to throw my reader a few times.  I couldn’t stand the husband and at first I didn’t even like Marti.  I couldn’t believe that she didn’t go off the deep end after what he did to her in the beginning.  But as the book moved forward and I got to know Marti a little better I found that I truly liked her.  It wasn’t that she wasn’t a strong woman, and once she started to show her emotions and get angry her true nature finally showed through… Her husband really took the cake when it came to being… well I cannot say the string of profanity I feel about him… Let’s just say if he were real I think I’d hunt him down for her… ugh!

So after Marti takes off for New Hope we really start to see the woman that she is and who she is meant to be.  She is fun and even slightly sassy and she knows how to dish it out especially when it comes to Joe.  I wasn’t a fan of his either it took some time to get into his character.  After he gives her a small gift and takes her to help her mind clear I was smitten with him… Even though the people in town seemed to think otherwise he was good for her and there when she needed a friend and someone to help pull her through the bad moments.

I loved seeing it slowly build from a friendship into more… Joe was sweet and funny… He made me laugh at his antics at times and others I wanted to smack him upside the head… Marti was caring and loving and everything that Joe needed to help him realize that was ok to let go of the past and be real with someone again.  They together made what I thought was a great couple… Two broken souls mending each other in ways neither expected… Until the unexpected ending… I feel that there are some rocky times ahead and I’m not sure where this story will go next but I can only hope that in the end Marti and Joe both find happiness they both truly deserve it…

Nicole’s writing gets better with every book.. Sugar Daddy was my first read and I loved it… Hiding Out was even better yet and as Nicole will tell you I am smitten with a certain character from that book… Can’t wait for the next in that series either… Every books seems to add more character depth and detail and attention to the story.  It’s nice to see an author grow better with every book that they release.  I highly recommend all of her books, they are all excellent reads!!!!

I proudly give this one 5 stars and I can’t wait for more story on Marti and see where her journey leads next…

The Space Between is a new adult contemporary romance.
As I watched her a voice perked my ears, distracting me. It wasn’t just a voice, though. Someone was singing, and they were doing it beautifully.
I walked over to the panoramic view. I’d heard these words before. After all, I had seen the show, but the actress singing then wasn’t like this. And hearing this voice, I discovered the one I’d first heard didn’t do the song justice.
Taking a seat, I watched the girl. Dressed in a long, pink ball gown, she gazed at the crowd during her song. Even from far away, I could still study every element of her. Sparkling doe eyes, rich caramel skin, and chocolate-colored curls that hinted a hazel coloring with the way the spotlight shined on her. She wore a soft pink flower in her hair. The small touch complemented her well.
The words of her song wisped about the room; her voice like an angel.
“Who’s that girl?” I didn’t really know to whom I asked my question. I didn’t really care. I just wanted an answer.
“That’s what I was trying to tell you, Derrick.” Margot sat next to me. “The lead fell ill, and she got into the show.”
Derrick came up on my other side. Crossing his arms, he nodded his head. “Go ‘cus.”
I glanced up at him. “Your cousin?”
“Yep. Great, isn’t she?”
I gazed back as she ended her song. The audience cheered, then gave her a standing ovation.
“Exquisite,” I said, staring at her as she bowed. “What’s her name?”
“Lacey,” Derrick said.
A small smile formed in the corner of my mouth.

When Jocelyn Weatherford is whisked away from a preparatory academy in upstate New York to live with her extended family in New Orleans, she is unprepared to encounter the dangers awaiting her. Yet even as she is thrust into an unfamiliar world of witches and voodoo magic, the greatest threat of all may be the boy she has fallen for.

While handsome and charming, he is also a Caldwell… a member of the family the Weatherford’s have been feuding with for centuries. As their forbidden love grows it becomes the volatile spark that forever changes their world and everyone in it.

My Review of Residue

Jocelyn, a young girl coming of age is suddenly thrust into a world that she doesn’t quite know exists.  She doesn’t know that her family comes from a long line of powerful witches.  After being sent away at a young age to be cared for at a boarding school Jocelyn is your average run of the mill teenager.  She is quite extraordinary despite her beliefs. She is a Weatherford and this makes her anything but ordinary.

Jameson Caldwell is a high school student as well as a student of mystical things.  He has always stood out among his brothers and sisters.  He doesn’t date girls, even though he is quite striking and it isn’t for a lack of options.  But he is different his future holds secrets that even his isn’t privy too.  Jameson is part of  a family forbidden to have interaction with the Weatherford’s but when a chance encounter with one at a local store sets off a reaction even he cannot deny, despite family lore.

This story is very well written.  I have read a lot of witch books and this has some unique qualities.  I am always thrilled to be immersed into the fantasy world of witches and mystical beings.  One of my all-time favorite books is about a witch, so I have read a lot and I can say that I really enjoyed this read.  I love Jameson and Jocelyn’s story.  Their fated love coupled with the connection and bond that they share is sweet.

The feud between the families made for some great moments in the book.  The snarky characters in the Caldwell and Weatherford families are very fun and the curses and hex’s they put on each other made me laugh at times.  Throughout the book the unwinding of the truth brings both sides to a new realization, one that is not only forbidden but is dangerous.

There were a few parts where I saw some things that didn’t add up for me.  But they were very minor.  In whole I really enjoyed the book and getting to know these characters.  I think that readers who like a little magic in their reading will truly enjoy this story line.  The fated lovers, the family quarrel, the history of the families and the secrets to the future and the past are all key parts to this book.

I give it a solid 4 stars.  There are other books in this series and I think I will be reading them all soon to find out what happens to these characters.
