One snowy Christmas Eve, one mistletoe kiss, one friendship changed forever.

Don’t underestimate the power of mistletoe. It looks innocent enough, but a single branch has the potential to change your life. One mistletoe kiss led to the most embarrassing night of my life, but thankfully by the next Christmas I ended up exactly where I was supposed to be.

“Ice skating and hot cocoa? What are you buttering me up for?” I sat down on the bench and unlaced my skates. The snow was falling a little bit heavier, but the flakes were still light and more pleasant than a nuisance.

“I’m just enjoying an evening with a beautiful woman. I do have a romantic side you know.”

“Romantic?” What was Glen playing at? I’d had a crush on him for years, but things had stayed completely platonic. We were good friends who saw each other once a year, and teased each other through text messages and late night phone calls. That was it.

He didn’t hear me. He was already in line to return our skates. I waited for him to return with my boots, and not for the first time I was glad I’d worn wool socks. It was cold during the day, but the nights were absolutely freezing.

“Here you go, my lady.” He bent down and proceeded to put my foot into my boot.

I pulled away from him. “Knock it off. What’s gotten into you tonight?” As charming as Glen was being something seemed off with him. I wondered if maybe I wasn’t the only one who was upset.

He proceeded to move on to my next boot. “It’s Christmas Eve. Aren’t you Miss Holiday Spirit?”

“Exactly.” He put on his shoes and tugged on my hand to pull me to standing. “Let’s get those hot chocolates.”

The line at the café on the other side of the rink was nearly out the door, but I was enjoying Glen’s company so much I didn’t mind.

He insisted on buying my hot cocoa for me, and considering he’d already paid for my skate rental, I was starting to feel uncomfortable. Glen had all the money he could ever need, but I wasn’t used to guys buying me anything. My dating experience wasn’t extensive, and it involved boys who were all about going dutch. “I really don’t mind paying.”

“Yeah, but I want to pay. Stop arguing and enjoy yourself.” He lightly bumped his shoulder into mine.

“Well, thanks.”

We walked around the village sipping our hot chocolate and not saying much. After a while we took a seat on a bench. It was underneath a tree, and the pine needles blocked some of the falling snow. I closed my eyes and listened to the chatter of people walking by mixed with the low hum of holiday music.

“You guys need to kiss.”

I opened my eyes and saw a girl staring at us. “You’re sitting under mistletoe. That’s the rules. You’re under mistletoe, you kiss.”

I looked up. Sure enough there was mistletoe hanging over us from the tree. It wasn’t real, it was just the decorative stuff they used, but it had the same unmistakable appearance.

Glen put an arm around me. “I think she’s right, Savy.”

I turned to glare at him. “Don’t even start.”

“Why not? Scared to kiss me?” he teased.

Yes. I was scared. Terrified. This was Glen. Kissing him wasn’t something I was prepared to do casually while sitting on a bench in the snow with a bunch of onlookers. Of course I couldn’t tell him that though. “Why would I be scared?”

“I don’t know. Just checking.” He got a twinkle in his eye. That twinkle should have given me all the warning I needed, but it didn’t. I was wholly unprepared when his lips made contact with mine. They were warm and soft, and they moved perfectly against mine. I kissed him back, desperately wanting to know what his mouth tasted like, and if his tongue felt half as good as his lips.

My Review:

This was personally my first read from Alyssa Rose Ivy and I have to say I’m now a BIG FAN!!!! I absolutely LOVED this little holiday novella.  It brought out all the feelings I want in a good read, and left me wanting more…

I loved Glen from the beginning of this short story, he was super sweet and sooo romantic… But he was hiding something not just his feelings but something bigger then that from Savannah.  After their sweet and romantic sort of date I was all in his corner, till he blundered it up and made me want to hit him!

Savannah or Savy to her friends has not had the best time as of late, her mom is marrying someone new, who purposely keeps Savy out of anything important in their lives. She hurt and needs a friend. Glen who has always been someone that she crushed on happens to be there as her world seems to be falling apart, but his rejection sends Savy spiraling.

This short story will make you happy, sad, make you want to smack somebody and make you want more.  I truly wish that I had a whole book about Glen and Savy I surely didn’t want to see their story end.  Alyssa’s writing is fantastic, she keeps a great dialogue going so well between the characters which is so important to me in a good read.  She adds just enough romance, heartbreak and happiness to this story to make it a 5 star read for me!!!

Title: Surviving Us
Authors: Erin Noelle
Genre: New Adult, Romance

Surving Us FOR WEB

Two survivors.
Two weeks.
One awakening.

When Bristol Criswell travels to St. Lucia for an Enduring Life retreat, she hopes to discover encouragement and support from like souls. A vacation fling is the furthest thing from her mind, especially not with a cocky-mouthed, arrogant jerk like Davis McKay.

But when it becomes evident she can’t deny the magnetic attraction between the two, she gives in to her desires, and for the first time in her life, learns the difference between simply living and truly feeling alive.

As their time in paradise quickly comes to an end, will her heart be able to withstand another devastating loss when it’s time to say goodbye, or will their connection be strong enough to survive the real world?

Death brought them together, but love will give them a reason to live.

**This book is a full-length, stand alone novel that is not a part of a series**

IT TAKES EVERYTHING I have not to smile as I watch Bristol throw her little fit. Knowing that she came by my place last night, and she’s jealous because she thinks I was there with another chick, makes my ego swell and my cock hard.
Once she’s finished digging her finger into my stomach and calling me a dick—which I usually am, but surprisingly don’t want to be one around her; I refuse to ask myself why this is—I do exactly what I’ve yearned to do since the moment I laid eyes on her. I claim her perfectly pouty lips with mine in demanding, caveman-esque fashion, hoping every person on this beach understands the statement I’m making.
I’m not sure if her ‘friend’ from last night is even out here, but I hope to God he is, because as a guy, I know with certainty the way he looked at her wasn’t how a big brother should look at his little sister. Ever. The way his eyes roamed up and down her body, how his hand splayed out on her bare back, holding her close to him, and the way he called her ‘baby girl’, all said plenty about his true intentions. I’m not usually one to cock-block, especially knowing the reason he’s even here is because something really fucked up has happened in his life, but I’ll be damned if he’s getting anywhere near Bristol while we’re here. She’s mine.
Her lips part with no resistance as the tip of my tongue requests entrance, finally allowing me to savor the taste of her sugary sweetness. My hands glide around her jaw to the back of her neck, fingers threading through her silky hair as I continue to explore her mouth, our tongues curling around one another’s in an effortless, synchronized movement.
She moans into my mouth, a direct command for my cock to stand at full-attention, and suddenly, I no longer want these other people around us. They’re the only reason I’m not laying her flat on her back in the sand right now and devouring every inch of her body, like I’d promised her I’d do. And based on the way she’s digging her nails into my shoulders and not-so-subtly pressing her body into mine, I’m pretty sure it’s what she wants too.

Almost 2 years ago I read this book called Metamorphosis that I absolutely FELL in LOVE with the writing, characters, and the author. Since then, we have became friends and she has put out multiple books including follow up to that series. I have enjoyed all of her books but never any as much as Meta.

Until now.

THIS is her best work yet. Excellent characters, storyline that is relatable in a lot of ways, and most importantly an AMAZING book boyfriend (Davis McKay baby) S-W-O-O-N.

Davis and Bristol are both survivors to horrific accidents. After going to a survivor retreat, they meet knowing their attraction can only last the duration they are there. Davis is a playboy who is entirely too broken to give Bristol a real relationship and Bristol is still struggling herself and doesn’t trust Davis as far as she can throw him

Can two broken souls survive one another? Or will they just destroy each other further?
this is a MUST read. Do NOT pass this amazing book up!!

In this emotional and sexy New Adult debut from Brighton Walsh, the only thing more frightening than commitment is hope…

Aspiring chef Cade Maxwell is immediately, viscerally attracted to Winter Jacobson. But it’s not her mouthwatering curves he’s drawn to—it’s the strange emptiness in her eyes. When Cade saves her from a drunken customer with grabby hands, he’s shocked at her response…

Winter doesn’t need Cade’s help. After a lifetime of getting by on her own, she’s happy to rely on herself. She’s exactly seventy-six days away from graduating college, and if she can hold it together that long, she’ll finally be able to rise above the crappy hand she was dealt.

But now, every time she turns around, Cade is there, ready to push her, smile at her, distract her from her plans. Winter knows she can’t afford to open up—especially to a man she’s terrified to actually want…

I bend my knees so we’re eye level and tug on her hand until she meets my gaze. “I don’t know what we could have. It might be nothing. But I’ll be honest . . . I haven’t felt like this in a long time, and that’s enough for me to know I want to see where it goes. Can’t we just see where it goes?”
With a deep sigh, she says, “I’m not right for you, Cade.”
“How about you worry about if I’m right for you. Let me decide the other.”
And then before she can stop me, before she can utter another word of opposition, I slide my hand up her arm, over her shoulder, until it’s wrapped around her neck. With my other hand, I swipe a piece of hair back with my fingers, and then lean in, brushing my lips against hers. After only a moment, I pull back just enough for her to be able to tell me to stop. When nothing comes, I close the distance between us once again, taking her bottom lip in between mine. I brush my tongue against it, coaxing her mouth open, and she breathes this sexy little gasp as I slip inside. She tastes like cookies and wine, and I want to fucking devour her.
She grips my shirt with both hands, clutching me to her, and I stop holding back and press every inch of my body against hers, groaning as my cock presses fully against her. The moment a whimper comes from her, I know she feels it. And I can’t muster up any embarrassment, because I want her to feel it. Even with all her brass balls and fuck-everything attitude, something tells me she needs reassurance, so I give it to her. In every stroke of my tongue against hers, every brush of my thumb along her jaw, I show her how much I want her.
When her chest is heaving, her lips parted and swollen and so fucking hot, I trail kisses down her neck, seeking out every inch of skin that’s uncovered. Her head thumps back against the wall, one of her hands gone from gripping fistfuls of my shirt. Instead, she’s holding my head to her, and I don’t want to stop. I want to kiss and lick every inch of her, slip my hands under the material of her sweater, unbutton her jeans, and not stop until I feel her soft wetness against my fingertips.
But the knowledge that she’ll regret it if I don’t stop forces me to slow down.
I pull back, loosening my grip on her and putting an inch of space between us. I kiss the corner of her mouth, her cheek, and then her ear. Against it, I whisper, “Don’t say no.”
There’s a beat of silence. Two. Three. And then she says the sweetest word I’ve ever heard.

My Review:

I love when I get to take a chance reading a new author, sometimes you find a diamond in the rough.  Brighton Walsh is one of those diamonds.  From the moment I read the synopsis for Caged in Winter I was intrigued by the story line.  But the story itself was brilliant and refreshing.

Winter was a characters that was full of spite and spunk.  She’s spent almost all of her life looking out for herself.  She doesn’t need saving and even more she doesn’t want it.  She’s struggling to pay the bills and get herself through college.  She’s savy with computers but breaking into the business is going to be a bit of a struggle for her.  She’s smart, sassy and she’s quite beautiful when she isn’t scowling and trying to purposely turn people off… Her character was quite refreshing as she wasn’t the damsel in distress, she’s strong and firm in her conviction. So when Cade walks in an is nothing but a distraction she must decide if it’s worth the risk.

Cade is also in college and has a lock on what his future will be, but he’s also juggling a world of responsibility on his shoulders…  Having to had to grow up and be the man of the house wasn’t in the plan but like all thing, plans also change.  He also didn’t see Winter coming… She was a firecracker he wasn’t ready for in his life and she proved to be a distraction he didn’t need, but he was determined to mute the emptiness in her life no matter the costs to him or his future career… I love love love him!  He’s so damn sexy and sweet and just an amazing guy.  To have been dealt the cards he has and still be caring and generous to a fault, is an exceptional trait.  And he can cook!  What woman doesn’t love a man that can make a mouthwatering meal… One particular scene between Winter and Cade in  the kitchen had my heart and some other areas melting!  Eeeeppp!  These two are seriously sexy when they come together.

As always there are times when the secondary characters make a book all the much better.  In this book Cade’s sister Tessa and her daughter Haley stole the show at times for me… I simply adored their relationship and how they really worked as a family unit so that Haley never went without.  There was also Cade’s best friend Jason, who is funny, sexy and charming. They all work so well together weaved in this story.

I have to say that Brighton has made me a fan and I cannot wait for Tessa’s story.  I can only imagine the angst and hilarious moments we are in for, between Jesse and Haley you never know what’s going to come out of their mouths…

I’m giving Caged in Winter 4 stars… I really enjoyed the writing and the characters, she captured the emotions and the feelings perfectly, and I can’t wait for more…

In order to ace her fashion internship, Chloe must team up with local college dropout and set builder, Blake—much to her chagrin. But after some “hands-on” experience, Chloe will have to ask herself if Blake factors into her carefully laid plans…

My Review:

First off I have to say what an amazing group of gifted authors this is.  I have read each and every one of them in the past and I was excited to see how this compilation played out in the end.

A.L. Jackson’s poetic way of writing will have you falling for Darryn from the moment that Misha lays eyes on him!  He’s super sexy and really sweet.  But Misha had been hurt but this complete ARSE in the past and it’s hard to watch her struggle to let go of the bitterness and open herself up.  I loved Darryn’s cockiness and his little bit of attitude it was just enough to make him endearing and not annoying.  My favorite scene is when he came to her rescue and became the hero of the moment.  I wanted to high five him for taking action when he saw necessary.  Even though they weren’t in a good place at the time, he still proved his love and compassion for her in that moment.  I loved these two characters and my only wish, as was with all these couples was that their story didn’t end!

Then we get Molly’s part of the book… Why oh why does it always seem like her books have the BIGGEST struggles.  Maybe it’s because of her past work but she always seems to have the most broken characters.  Indy and Keir are just too sweet for words.  As I sit here typing I’m thinking back to their story and it broke my heart.  I felt for Indy from the very beginning.  Her ex was the biggest jerk and well I would have liked to have seen Keir get some revenge for what he did to her.  Keir’s story though will break your heart, he’s so quiet and reserved and when you hear his story it will shock you and as always with Molly’s books it brought me to tears… She has this way of evoking the most heavy emotions from a reader.  I never sit down to her books without tissues near by!

The next story is Tiffany King’s and her characters aren’t so broken but they have a past relationship that needs some healing and closure.  I adored Dalton again he was cocky but not in a super annoying way he was sweet and caring and the things he did to prove himself to Courtney really melted my heart.  This story like the others is one that I would LOVE to see turned into a full book.  There was a lot of potential for Dalton to make it to the NBA, he was the star of the basketball team, and no matter what Courtney said in her head her heart had other ideas… Seeing their love build despite his fathers ridiculous conditions on his life and Courtney’s reluctance to get involved with him was so touching!  I wanted so much more!

Last but not least we have Elizabeth Lee… Elizabeth has this way about writing her characters and stories that just draws me in.  It’s like I can truly envision each of them the way they look the way they carry themselves and even the way they love.  I loved this story it was cute and quirky and not without it’s moments of seriousness and sadness.  But Chloe and Blake brought out the best in each other.  They found common ground even when there appeared to be very little.  Blake truly proved that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover in this story, and the same goes for Chloe too.  They both made assumptions about the other and some were right and some so very wrong.  I loved their game of Truth or Dare it really made for a great banter back and forth between the characters.

Overall I give this 5 stars… I can’t imagine the short stories being done any better then they were.  With each of them I adored getting to know the characters and their stories.  Though they are quick reads you will find that each couple leaves you wanting more of their story and hopefully their happily ever afters!

Title: Beholden (Book Two in the Belonging Duet)
Author: Corinne Michaels
Release Date: October 22, 2014
Add to Goodreads

Catherine Pope got a second chance at love, only to have it ripped away—again. She should’ve known better.

But she dared to hope.

She refuses to let fate take the reins this time. Catherine decides she’s going to fight.

Jackson Cole risked it all.

He thought this time would be different.

With his loyalties pulling him in two directions—it’s time to make a choice…his past or his future.

Will they be beholden to their fears or will they both fight against their demons and finally find the love they both long for?

My Review:

Sometimes there are books that come along that give us a love story that’s so raw and realistic that it just sticks with you.  Corinne Michaels brought us Jackson Cole and Catherine Pope in Beloved they were both broken souls, not searching for love, because they’d been scared by it too much.  Fate dropped Catherine into Jackson’s lap not just once but twice.  They couldn’t fight their feelings and both decided to try again only to have tragedy rip them apart.  The ending of Beloved left us hanging in the balance.  We didn’t know if Jackson would live or die, and if Catherine would have anything left to fight with after being broken down once again.

Thankfully with Beholden, Corinne picks up the story exactly where she left off.  Shifting us immediately into turmoil and angst with Jackson’s POV.  Throughout the book she gives us just enough sprinkling where we can truly get to know his character and dive into his thoughts and feelings.

Catherine’s struggles are realistic and her anger, hurt and betrayal yet again are defining the path that she takes.  She has some hard and fast decisions to make throughout this book and though we may not agree we can fully understand her reasoning.  I’d be tired of the hurt and want to run too… Neil, Jackson, Piper, all contributed to her decisions, and what I loved most is that when she made them she stood firm. No matter how much inner turmoil she was facing and no matter how much she thought at times maybe she wasn’t doing the right thing, she stuck to her decision and was strong in her convictions that this was the right choice.

So many times throughout this book I cried for both Jackson and Catherine their struggles are things that most everyday people have to work through, and this is what brought these characters the realism that you don’t always see in fiction. Anyone that has been in a relationship can attest that love is not simple, it’s not perfect.  I’ve been in Catherine’s shoes in some ways and it’s never easy getting over and getting past the hurt and betrayals.  Corinne’s writing makes you feel like these characters could be your sister, brother or best friend.

This story will leave you off with a feeling that true love can conquer all if you give it enough effort and time. And that all wounds will eventually heal if your willing to let someone help you fill the voids left behind by those that hurt you in the past. Catherine and Jackson make me believe in true love… and remind me of a popular verse that all of us need to remember once in awhile.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I happily give this one 5 stars and hope that everyone is willing to give this series a chance it’s well worth it…

Previous Books In The Series…

My Review:

I went into this book blind. I didn’t read the synop or any teasers beforehand, I wanted to really FEEL this story. Boy did I ever.

Ryley Clarke loses her fiancé, Evan Archer in an accident while he’s serving as a Navy Seal. She knew this was a risk as she grew up in a military family, but no amount of knowledge could have prepared her for that pain. After burying the love of her life, Evan’s brother Nate becomes her “knight in shining armor” so to speak. He helps her mourn, heal, and eventually love again. There’s only one problem. Six years later, Evan comes back. He never died. It wasn’t his body. It wasn’t his funeral. So many questions with very little answers.

“I’m here today because six years ago I lost the love of my life and now he’s back from the dead, and in a few weeks I’m set to marry my best friend. His Brother.”

Confused and hurt, Evan doesn’t know how this life (his life) went on without him. Everyone thinks he is dead. Everyone lived on with their life. His BROTHER stole his fiancé. She’s wearing a ring now that isn’t his. But Evan isn’t going down without a fight. He will do whatever it takes to win his girl back, even if that means hurting his brother Nate.

” The thought of Nate and Ryley together turns my blood cold. I want to kill him. If was in my unit, he’d be dead for touching something that doesn’t belong to him. “

“I want to forget he’s my brother and destroy him.”

Evan is a dream book boyfriend. He’s the kind you are still talking about 2 years later. From his humor and snark to his cocky/alpha ways, I fell head over heels for this guy.

Heidi McLaughlin did an amazing job of writing interesting relatable characters. I felt as if I was “in” this story. From start to finish, I was completely hooked. Every page was just as exciting as the one before and this storyline- blew me away. I will warn anyone who starts this- it will be continued. This is a series- do I care? Not AT ALL. This book made me excited to read a series again.

By the end of this story my heart had broken no less than 10 times. God love Evan, he came home to a living hell. I’m SOOOOO #TeamEvan – he’s her “one” but sometimes life steps in and your #1 is taken and then the #2 becomes how you survive. This story isn’t just a love triangle or another military story. It’s magic in-between those pages. I could see this on the big screen one day. It’s THAT kind of read. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy (Oct 23- just TWO days) – it will NOT disappoint.

“I believe you can find your soulmate at any age; it’s the circumstance that brings you together”

Then a small town in Colorado gave her exactly what she needed—until tragedy left her heartbroken and devastated. Alone with only her child and her memories, Cassie struggled to put her life back together, one day at a time, piece by piece. Finding love again was something she never thought possible. That was, until she ran into an unlikely stranger who flipped her entire world on its axis.

Aidan had a secret locked away in his heart; one that would surely send Cassie running the second she discovered it. He held onto her closely and kept his secret guarded, but one careless mistake could reveal all.

Their friendship was strong, their moments beautiful, and the love that brewed between them intense—something neither denied. The only problem? Cassie was slowly letting him into her life. Could she let herself get close to the one person she didn’t think she should?

Her mind tells her to run, but her heart tells her to stay.

Chapter 1 – One Year Ago
My hand shot left
and landed on the alarm clock, silencing its incessant beeping. There was no
point even setting it. I’d been awake for hours, anyway, but inside my nerves
were having a hay day. Heartbeats thudded against my chest as I sucked in deep
breaths trying to calm myself.
“Fuck it,” I muttered,
kicking my heavy comforter off.
I swung my legs
over the edge of the bed and ran a hand through my messy morning hair. My eyes
traveled to the phone on my nightstand. I picked it up, sent a quick message to
my brother, then tossed it beside me on the bed and made my way to the kitchen
in nothing but my boxers. After dumping coffee grinds into the maker and
setting the machine to brew, I braced my arms against the white countertop and stared
down mindlessly while I waited. Your brain knew when something was important.
It wouldn’t let you think of anything else. It was all-consuming. Today, it
might just be the death of me.
I filled my lucky
Denver Bronco’s mug and paced my way through the house. Wearing a path in the
floor was the only thing slowing my thoughts. I downed a few sips and stopped
in front of a tall bookshelf. A covered box containing all my letters from Jase
was nestled there.
It had started out
as a joke, but neither of us could stop writing. I told him I had a mailbox at
college and then every week I had a letter waiting for me. And every week I’d
write him back. I saved them all. His latest had me smiling hard. He was happy.
Really happy—thanks to her. I needed to
meet that girl. My eyes caught a glimpse of the clock; it was nearly time.
I took a shower
and slipped on a pair of worn jeans, a plain tee, and my Nikes. Sucking in a
deep breath, I grabbed my keys and left, bracing myself for the day
was only an hour into my drive when the red engine light caught my eye. It came
on every once in a while, so I pushed it to the back of my mind. My foot
pressed a little harder on the gas pedal. As the needle on the speedometer
crept higher, a new light on the dashboard lit up. And then it happened—my car
started to shut down. “Fuck.” I banged my fist at the wheel as the car slowed.
But no amount of banging or cursing helped. I veered to the shoulder of the
highway, dodging car after car. Finally, the piece of crap stopped dead.
“No, no, no. Don’t
do this to me now.” I pounded the steering wheel again, ready to beat it to
death. “Not today. Damn it!” I reached for my phone in the cup holder, dialed
the number for Triple A, and within minutes the rep said a tow truck would be
on its way. Estimated time of forty-five minutes. Great.
It was too
important of a day to be starting out like this. I only prayed things turned

My Review:

Where do I even begin with this review? I knew I would love this book, but it caught me off guard that I would love it even more than Away! <——— say that again?WTH? How is that possible? I know…I know..B.A,Wolfe got me! Omg did she ever!! My heart was bursting!

I was shedding tears in the first 3%! I knew my heart would have to go back there again, and it was rough, but you have to go back there again to feel every emotion. I will admit I was hid under my covers holding my breath! Lol!

With the support of her friends Melanie and Moose, Cassandra is trying to move forward with her life the best way she knows how. Losing Jason was the hardest thing she ever had to go through, and raising Jase without him was even harder. Cassie is just going through the motions of everyday life. She is trying to be the best mother, and friend she can be while filing a huge void in her life. That void being Jase so looking for love isn’t something that is on the top of her list right now. That was until………….

A chance encounter with one swoon worthy of a man Aidan will leave you begging for more! I will be honest after B.A.Wolfe ripped my heart out, threw it in a blender and had me sobbing like a newborn in a fetal position…I thought how will I ever love Aidan over Jase?! I mean Green friggin light! But Aidan redeemed himself and I loved him!! He’s everything you want in a BB and more! I couldn’t have loved him more if I tried! I even went into thinking I will not love anybody over Jase! There is no possible way!! <—- Aidan changed my way of thinking almost immediately. Darn him and his charm! Who does he think he is?? <—- seriously I wanted to not like him. He made it impossible!

Aidan is harboring a secret that could affect every aspect of this new found love, but you will have to read to see exactly how that all works out. I don’t want to give everything way and you have to meet Aidan to see just what I’m talking about. It’s not the easiest journey and both will have to face some fears to get where their new relationship is heading, but in the end it could all be worth it!

I give Stay 5 HUGE gold glittery stars!! The writing was beautifully written, the characters are relatable, the story shows us that sometimes just when you think you will never have the fairy tale it might just find you when you least expect it! I sobbed my face off, laughed, wanted to send B.A.Wolfe awful text if things didn’t work in Cassie’s favor, but in the end she wrapped it up nicely! Green light my Twinsie!! I LOVED it!! I can’t wait to see what else is in store from this amazing author. It blew me away and will for sure be one if my top picks for 2014. It brought out every emotion! Go grab your copy now and love this beautiful story!!

P.S.Twinsie you still owe me Kleenex, wine, and throw in some ice cream ;) xo

~ About the Author ~

B.A. Wolfe is a girl with a passion for reading and writing, and lives in the good ol’ state of Colorado with her husband (her biggest cheerleader), and her two crazy min pin fur babies. These days, her life is anything but calm, and there isn’t one thing she’d want to change.

B.A. spends all her free time either furiously typing stories on her laptop or happily reading through her endless T BR on her Kindle. Her list of favorites would be long enough to fill a book, but most would likely fall under the romance category.

She is a sucker for a good love story that makes her cry, and an amazing book boyfriend who will melt her heart. ‘Away’ is B.A. Wolfe’s debut novel.

My Review:

One week in New York visiting her best friend is just what Anna needs to get over the current ex-boyfriend. Some down time and some sight seeing are just what she needs. Maybe a little fling will help to put her broken heart back together. When she meets “Ethan” at the bar and decides to go home with him its not her normal thing. She tells him she has rules, like no real names, jobs or phone numbers. Ethan agrees to her rules since he isn’t the “dating” type anyway. He’s all about the one night stands and no strings attached. But one night with Anna and she’s all he can think about. He needs to see her again. Ethen has a friend track her down the next day at a restaurant and he “accidentally” runs in to her and asks her out to dinner. They end up agreeing to a week long affair since they both agree the sex was amazing. But how easily can they walk away at the end of the week??

I loved where this storyline was going and cant wait to read the whole book. This book was fairly short and I don’t want to give too much away. These two play so well off of each other. I’m hoping for a little more background info on Anna and Ethan in Autumn in London. I give A Week In New York by Louise Bay 4 Stars and I cant wait for December to see where these two end up!!!

I write sexy, romantic, contemporary novels – the kind I like to read!

Ruined by romantic mini-series of the seventies and eighties, I love all things romantic. There’s not enough of it in real life so I’ll settle for books and films.

I love the rain, the West Wing, London, days when you don’t have to wear make-up, being alone, being with friends, elephants and champagne.

Everything done in darkness, will eventually be brought into the light.

I ran, but all it did was keep me one step ahead of my past. I tried to start over; new name, new identity. But you can’t change your soul.

A fresh start at college was just what I needed. For a while, it worked. I was the party girl, the one that seemed confident, but it was a lie.

When guys kissed me–I felt only pain.

When they touched me–Nothing but fear.

Deep inside, every girl wants to be the beauty in the story, to find someone that will see you as their world.

But the truth? I was the beast. And as much as I wanted redemption, I wasn’t fool enough to think I’d ever get it.

Until he walked into my life.

I wasn’t prepared to fall for someone. My scars were too deep, the wounds too raw. But he offered me peace, he offered me security. I should have known it was just another lie–I should have known that falling in love with my professor was a bad idea.

But I was powerless to stop myself from falling.

And he was powerless to catch me.

Because the darkness finally caught up to me, and as fate would have it, a cruel twist almost bled me dry. But I’m stronger than I knew. I’m stronger than you think.

You think you know my story, but you don’t….after all everyone has Shame in their lives– and I’m no longer afraid to show you mine.

My Interview with Rachel Van Dyken:

I’m here today with author Rachel Van Dyken, to talk about her latest release Shame, book #3 in the Ruin series.

J: Good Afternoon Rachel how are you doing today?

R: I’m doing great!! I finally feel like release stuff is starting to calm down so that’s good.

J: So you just released Shame which is the third book in the Ruin series. How does this book differ from the other books in the series?

R: This book is a lot darker, in fact I’ve had several readers comment that it’s darker than some of my mafia stuff. It’s not necessarily violent but the reader definitely gets into the mind of a sociopath and I think that part mixed in with the whole “stalker” effect of the story really sets the scene for Lisa’s book.

J: Can you tell us where you came up with the idea for Shame? What research if any you did to get inside the mind of Taylor.

R: Honestly, I really wanted to do a book on emotional bullying and domestic violence but I was struggling on how to actually do that with Lisa’s story and do it well. I came up with the journal entry idea so that the reader could get a glimpse into the horror of what Lisa went through without having to do a lot of flashbacks. To get into Taylor’s mind, I just jumped on all the research I had to do for my undergrad psych degree and added in all of the emotional bullying and sociopath studies I did while working as a school counselor.

J: I’ve read Shame and I must say it’s very different from anything that you have ever written. Where did you draw your inspiration for the characters in this book?

R: I have no idea. Haha, I honestly can’t say a specific source or thing inspired me…maybe it was just Lisa’s story that inspired me, the idea that there are women out there that suffer in silence. On the outside everything looks great but they suffer with such severe mental abuse that they no longer feel human, that was my inspiration.

J: Lately a lot of books have seemed to been released that have to do with mental illness, do you think that this is a new trend in the industry?

R: I’m not sure but I think it’s something that more authors are touching on because of the world we live in. It’s a reality and it’s something that we all experience on a daily basis.

J: You’ve written some other series that deal with very different topics, when you switch between writing the different series is it hard to get re-focused when you begin the next book?

R: Usually it’s not too bad, I use music and book playlists as a way to separate myself and my characters. If that fails, I go for a walk ;)

J: Recently we have found out that you are going to become a mommy and that you are having a little boy, Congratulations on that news. We are excited for you and the Little Van Dyken. With you becoming a mom soon do you think that you will possibly write one of your characters having the journey to motherhood in any of your series?

R: I WANT TO SO BAD! I love reading stories about families so I think it would be great to do, possibly next year when I slow down.

J: Who are some of your literary influences, or do you have a must read author when they release a new book?

R:Oh goodness…that’s like asking to name my favorite flavor of ice cream, how about all of them? I love Jennifer Probst, Julia Quinn, Sophia Jordan, Yeah my list can go on and on and on.

J: What made you want to become an author? You were a school guidance counselor at one time correct? Do you think your work with some of the youth reflects into your work at all?

R: My job working as a counselor was really stressful I also worked for the state working with kids who had down syndrome and severe psychological disorders…in order to escape and deal with the stress I started writing and haven’t looked back since!

J: Well I think that’s about all I have for you now. Is there anything else that you would like to share with the readers about Shame and maybe tell us what’s next from you?

R: I hope they enjoy Lisa’s story! And, next…well I have some more mafia coming up in December and February as well as a few blacklist titles releasing ;)

J: I’d like to thank you for joining me today and we are all really looking forward to more books from you in the future.

R: Thank you so much for having me!

Well that’s all we have today, I hope that you enjoyed this interview with Rachel and that you’ll pick up Shame available now! It’s definitely worth the read!!!

My Review:

Rachel seriously drives your anxiety and emotions to a new level with Shame!  I was a bally of nerves reading through this book.  I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what Tristan’s motives were and why, it all finally became clear and then I wanted to hate him!  But I loved him, and then I hated him at the same time. He is probably one of her most controversial characters written to date.  Most of the time Rachel’s leading men are funny, sometimes a little scary, but never has she written someone like Tristan before.

Lisa is also new territory, her character was living behind a world of hurt and pain that she endured in the most impressionable part of her life.  Adolescents tend to take things so much harder then adults or young children.  As children we are taught to forgive and forget, but how do you do that when someone does the unthinkable and the unforgivable.  Lisa was bullied, abused emotional and it was all recorded in the pages of a demented mans journal.  The things that Taylor led Lisa to do were unthinkable and life changing for the victims.  As we find out in the story some things are never forgotten and are hard to make go away.

This is a challenging read at every turn your either suspicious of Tristan or hurting and terrified for Lisa, and in true Rachel fashion she adds a twist that you might not ever see coming.  In the end I was left with raw emotions and feelings for all of the characters in this book.  We get to see our familiar and beloved characters from the previous books.  Gabe is a bit part of Lisa’s life and his need to protect and shield her goes above and beyond in this book, which made me love him even more.  Overall I give this book 5.  It was a great read and I highly recommend it if you like a good emotional read that will keep you guessing!

The top-selling, beloved indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths returns with a new romance about a young woman who loses her memory—and the man who knows that the only way to protect her is to stay away.

Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?

Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried.

The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface.

Chapter 2
Jane Doe

I don’t know how I got here.
I don’t know where here is.
I hurt.
Who is this woman hovering over me?
“Please page Dr. Alwood immediately,” she calls to someone unseen. Turning back to look at me, it takes her a long moment before she manages a white-toothed smile. Even in my groggy state, there’s no missing the pity in it. Her chest lifts with a deep breath and then she shifts her attention to the clear-fluid bags hanging on a rack next to me. “Glad to finally see your eyes open,” she murmurs. “They’re a really pretty russet color.” The hem of her lilac uniform grazes the cast around my hand.
My cast.
I take inventory of the room—the pale beige walls, the stiff chairs, the pastel-blue curtain. The machines. It finally clicks.
I’m in a hospital.
“How—” I stall over the question as that first word scratches against my throat.
“You were intubated to help you breathe. That hoarseness will go away soon, I promise.”
I needed help breathing?
“You’re on heavy doses of morphine, so you may feel a little disoriented right now. That’s normal. Here.” A cool hand slips under my neck as she fluffs up my pillow.
“Where am I?” I croak out, just now noticing that bandages are dividing my face in two at the nose.
“You’re at St. Charles in Bend, Oregon, with the very best doctors that we have. It looks like you’re going to pull through.” Again, another smile. Another sympathetic stare. She’s a pretty, young woman, her long, light brown hair pulled back in a ponytail, her eyes a mesmerizing leafy green.
Not mesmerizing enough to divert me from her words. Pull through what exactly?
She prattles on about the hospital, the town, the unusually brisk winter weather. I struggle to follow along, too busy grappling with my memory, trying to answer the litany of questions swirling inside my mind. Nothing comes, though. I’m drawing a complete blank.
Like she said, it must be the morphine.
A creak pulls my gaze to the far corner of the room, where a tall, lanky woman in a white coat covering a pink floral shirt has just entered. With quick, long strides she rounds my bed, drawing the curtain behind her as she approaches. “Hello.”
I’m guessing this is the doctor who the nurse had paged. I watch as she fishes out a clip from her pocket and pins back a loose strand of apricot-colored hair. Snapping on a pair of surgical gloves, she then pulls a small flashlight from her pocket. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m not sure yet.” My voice is rough but at least audible. “Are you my doctor? Doctor . . .” I read the name on the badge affixed to her coat. “Alwood?”
Green eyes rimmed with dark circles search mine for a long moment. “Yes, I operated on you. My name is Dr. Meredith Alwood.”

My Review:

I have to say that I was very excited to be selected for this tour and to read this book.  I’m a HUGE fan of K.A. Tucker’s Ten Tiny Breath’s series and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a new set of characters.  Once again she knocked it out of the park with the twists and turns, characters you fall in love with instantly and a plot that is never predictable!

As this book opens we have a girl Jane Doe, she’s been viciously attacked and left for dead. But she’s alive the only problem is she doesn’t know who she is.  As we move through the story Jane decides to change her name to Water.  Yes sounds unusual but the reason behind it is simply beautiful!  I loved the way she came up with this name.  Water is taken in by people she doesn’t know and shown a kindness that she needs in so many ways.

Jesse is haunted by the memories of the past, while Water is trying to start a new life.  The problem is that he is suffering. He knows her past and he feels the need to keep his distance and protect her in every way possible.  He doesn’t want her to regain her memories for fear that the danger of her past will come back with a vengeance.  I felt so badly for Jesse and his struggle, it was clear from the beginning that he was never going to give up on her. He was warm and gentle and so loving, until he was forced to change course.  I absolutely adored his character.

The side characters in this book are just as amazing as Water and Jesse.  Jesse’s mom, dad and sister and even the crotchety old neighbor will warm your heart.  Their acceptance and ability to let Water into their lives when they have no idea who she was, showed a compassion that most people don’t exhibit in real life.  They opened their homes and their hearts to help this girl that seems to have no past, an uncertain present and an undetermined future.

K.A. Tucker’s stories have that ability to suck you in and keep you up all hours reading and flipping the pages furiously.  Her words grip you and send you on emotional highs and lows like no other.  I thought it was brilliant that Jane’s POV was present day but that Jesse’s was past, even when it frustrated me because I needed answers faster! This book hit me just as hard at Ten Tiny Breaths and I couldn’t recommend it more highly!  I give this one 5 stars!  If your looking for a read that will send you on an emotional roller coaster with lots of tears, love and compassion this book is for you!
