To make matters worse, trouble finds Lily wherever she goes. She thought she’d rid herself of her late husband’s demons, but she soon learns that when you make a deal with the devil, he often comes back to up the ante. Can she learn to let Gavin in or will she continue to fight her battles alone? Find out what happens When Fate Isn’t Enough.
I’m not sure what to say about this book. Where do I even being… I really thought after When Fates Collide that our main characters would have a non-suspenseful, blissful second book, and for the most part they did. Right up until the damn ending when Isabelle decided to RIP OUT MY GUTS AND STOMP THEM TO A PULP! Yep! I can’t even tell you the genius ending she created!
For the most part Lily and Gavin are settling into a domestic bliss, they are becoming more comfortable with each other on a daily basis and trying to put the past behind them. But Lily is still holding a lot of secrets from what happened with the Cartel in the first book. She hasn’t told the FBI or Gavin anything that went down and unfortunately that all comes back to bite her hard in this second book… The Cartel, well they don’t play games, and the man she thought that she was rid of forever, well he’s now a target in a much bigger game… The danger that surrounds her and the whole situation comes to a head when Max, her roommate an FBI Agent decides he needs to bring down the evil… It was truly the WRONG MOVE….
If you thought that things would be sweet and loving and that Lily and Gavin would find peace and their HEA in this book, well your kinda right… But in the end you wouldn’t be more DEAD wrong…. I will be honest the beginning of this book moved a little slow for me, but once we really got into the middle it was off and running like a dog after a rabbit. I don’t even know where book 3 is headed and don’t know how I will recover from book 2 still but I can tell you this. If you haven’t read book 2 yet, hold onto your hats cause it’s a wild ride! And if you haven’t read book 1 or 2… Pick them up now… I don’t think that you’ll be sorry! Isabelle has her work cut out for her in the 3rd installment and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
