“Pain can leave even the strongest of people weak and hollow
Max DeLucca has spent seven years trying to forget the betrayal of his past.
He lives his life from day to day never looking forward and never looking back. The walls around his heart keep anyone from getting too close and prevent him from feeling too much… until he meets her.
Her entire life, Janie Silver searched for the kind of love that wouldn’t leave her broken and more importantly, wouldn’t leave her behind. She longs for a love that can heal the wounds of her past and give her the future she knows she deserves. She thought she was looking for something that just didn’t exist…until she meets him.
Danny’s on Main is where their story begins. A neighborhood bar where strangers become friends, friends become family
and some … become lovers
… it all started on Thursday Nights”
Max knew Janie well enough to know his words hurt her. She looked physically pained every time he shut her out. While he wasn’t lying when he said the problem wasn’t her, it left a fresh scar on his heart every time he saw the ache he inflicted flash through her eyes. The need to see her face was overwhelming. He had to look in her aqua eyes and make her understand that he wasn’t worth her time or her heart.
The bathroom door was all that stood between them. He lifted his hand to the doorknob, wanting so badly to open it and go to her.
He could envision her beautiful, naked body through the steam coming from the shower, the water trickling down her soft skin. Stripping himself down and sliding into the shower behind her. His large hands moving around her narrow waist, grazing over her ribcage and trailing up until he caressed her breasts. His thumb and forefinger rolling her nipples as he leans into her neck and drags his tongue up the long column until he reaches her jaw. Slowly turning her around, the water pounding at her back, he bends forward and begins a slow assault using his lips, his tongue, and his teeth. Her nipples pebble between his fingers, and a slow husky moan bubbles up from her throat, giving voice to her approval of his touch. She whimpers when he moves one hand from her breast and slowly lets it travel down her belly over her pubic bone. She runs her own hand up along his jaw and into his wet blond hair, pulling his head closer to her neck just as he strokes the hard nub between her thighs. She moans when he uses the pad of his finger to fondle her clit, and he can feel her body start to tremble and tighten. He’s not ready to let her come because that would mean he’d be letting her go, so he sinks first one finger, and then two, into her moist heat and begins a slow rhythm in and out of her cunt. “Oh, Max. Oh my God.” Her body is shaking, and her pussy is creaming on his fingers as he’s licking her neck, her jaw, and finally her lips. As he continues to fuck her with his fingers, he uses his thumb to rub her clit, finally bringing her over the edge. He can feel the walls of her sex milking his fingers as he whispers his apology and his love into her ear.
I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa this week and having lunch with her and I must tell you she is FUNNY!!!!! She was super sweet and I am so glad that she lives close by. It’s always so much fun getting to meet up with authors that I enjoy and getting to know them… We got to chatting and I can’t tell you about what but I can tell you that the next few books are going to be just as awesome as this one is!!!! I know I’m a big tease sorry but a girl never tells her secrets… hahaha!
So let’s talk about Thursday Nights the first thing that I noticed was Max… My youngest son’s name is Max…
Max is HOT and STEAMY and really knows how to work a woman’s body! sigh…. I was fanning myself in the first few chapters and knew that wasn’t nearly going to be enough of him! WOW! So Max has a past, who doesn’t right? But his unfortunately broke him (cue the violin) this is just what I like the broken, hot guy… I was pretty smitten almost immediately with his character. He was sweet and funny, and really sad and lonely. I wanted to hug Max often throughout this book. He was truly one confused man, but then again so was the lovely and beautiful Janie.
The met in a bar, Janie and her best friend Lyla frequented every Thursday Night. Their visits became ritual and they became friends and family to the crew and owners of this local establishment. Janie has been through a ton of BAD and I mean BAD relationships, awful men who don’t deserve her. She harbors feelings for a certain man but never really acts on it. Till one Thursday Night when it all changes and her new obsession becomes the man she has lusted after for months. Janie falls for the one man that isn’t obtainable almost instantly. No matter how bad she wants it he runs, thanks to his evil experience in the past.
Janie harbors her own secrets and all but begs him to let her in. You know that old saying I think it was even a popular 80’s hair band song by Cinderella “Don’t know what you got till it’s gone.” Well that is soooooo true in this story. The question is will it be too late to make things right?
There are so many twists and turns and secrets in this book my head was spinning out of control. What I LOVE the most is that all of the supporting characters were so prominent in the story. I didn’t even know that this was a series, yeah I’ve done that a lot lately going into books not realizing but Lisa does one amazing job of weaving them all perfectly into the story in order to make you want to know more about them and really get to know their secrets as well. Lyla and Janie are tight and for very good reasons and Max and his best friend Gage also are tight and for what I believe is also very good reasons but we just had enough of a tease of their sordid pasts to keep us guessing and wanting a whole lot more.
I adored the bar owner and his wife and the way that they took all of their staff and Janie and Lyla in as family. Their relationship was touching the way that they looked after each other and truly showed what real friendships and family is all about. Being that most of them seemed to have no real family to speak of the group of friends were extremely close nit and it really made me love their dynamic… It also made me want to keep reading so when the story ended there really wasn’t a cliffhanger it was what I would call just the beginning…
I truly cannot wait for the next book to come out and learn more about all of them. I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of all this group for a long time to come, and honestly you will find me first in line to one click the next book when it’s released! I give Thursday Nights 5 stars the writing was extremely clean and the story was super believable. This book will capture your heart and suck you into the story. Good Luck putting it down once you start because I sure couldn’t!!!!
