Sometimes, the rabbit hole is deeper than expected . . .

Alice Reeve and Finn Van Brunt have tumbled into a life of secrets. Some secrets they share, such as their employment by the clandestine organization known as The Collectors’ Society. Other secrets they carry within them, fighting to keep buried the things that could change everything they think they know.

On the hunt for an elusive villain who is hell-bent on destroying legacies, Alice, Finn, and the rest of the Society are desperate to unravel the mysteries surrounding them. But the farther they spiral down this rabbit hole, the deeper they fall into secrets that will test their loyalties and pit them against enemies both new and old.

Secrets, they come to find, can reveal the deadliest of truths.

While writing the Collectors’ Society series, I’ve tended to visit a number of songs repeatedly over the course of the two (and now three, as I’m working on the next one) books. I’m sharing with you today a list of some of those songs—except for a few omissions. There were several songs off of Taylor Swift’s latest album, 1989, that figured into my playlist for The Hidden Library, but there are no videos or Spotify links for those. Those songs are: You Are In Love (which I feel is very Alice and Finn), Clean, and This Love. Enjoy!

My Review

So I have been shouting to everyone I can about this series since reading the first book The Collector’s Society.  I fell in love instantly with the unique world that Heather created, her characters that have been brought to life of out of famous novels, fairy tales and some books that are our worst nightmares…  I can’t even tell you how excited I was to get to read The Hidden Library!

This series must be read in order, so if you haven’t read book one… You must read it first to understand what is happening from the beginning of The Hidden Library.  From the moment this book starts we pick up after the capture of one of the characters that has been suspect in deleting timelines.  The woman is certifiably crazy and violent, but sweet Alice, she isn’t afraid of her in the least.  I love the tenacity that Alice shows.  She was brought into the Society not knowing a thing about them and she so quickly took on her role and her place.  Of course her time spent as one of the rulers in Wonderland trained her in interrogation so she knows a think or two about getting information she needs…

I continued to fall in love with Finn.  After receiving a call that only infuriates him, we get to travel back in time into Finn’s timeline and catch a glimpse of the hurt and sadness that consumes him.  And his hatred of Tom is evident to say the very least.  I was on the edge of my seat wondering if Finn and Alice would make it out of the mess they’d found themselves in, but when an unexpected visitor edits into the timeline Finn’s exemplary skills shine through and they have not one but two captives within the walls… But as time goes and they get answers it becomes evident that things aren’t always what they seem…. This is where I fall even more in love with Finn!  I’m getting choked up just thinking of the sacrifice he is willing to make for someone he loves.

This book will evoke so many emotions, you’ll feel like your on a roller coaster at times.  Always wondering what is lurking around the corner.  And then when you think things can’t get any worse it implodes and leaves you feeling breathless, and wanting more…. I’m not sure how Heather has come up with this story, but from beginning to end I can’t put down these books, with each set of characters and each timeline she introduces the intrigue continues to grow.  I can’t wait for more of this series and dare I say I never want it to end… If you haven’t read either of these stories I implore you to pick them up today, you won’t be sorry!!!
