Title: Rome (Marked Men #3)Author: Jay Crownover Genre: New Adult Publication Date: January 7, 2014
Publisher: William Morrow an imprint of HarperCollins Publishing Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.

Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.

Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.

Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

Jenn’s Review of Rome
I have to say that this was a much awaited book for me.  I adore the Archer men and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Rule’s brother!  I love military men!!!
So let’s talk about Rome!  He’s HOT with a capital H – O – T!!! There is no doubt about the sizzle factor in this read!  There were a lot of unexpected moments for me throughout this book.  One for instances is Rome’s attraction to Cora.  Cora has always been the sassy and snarky, kind of keep the boys in line kind of girl and I would have never seen our military man falling for her, but he did and he fell HARD!  But Rome is fighting some crazy demons from his time at war, and he still fights a very big demon from home, the death of his brother.  This was a bit unexpected and such a good part of the story line.  We know how it affected Rule and the secret about how he was hiding.  It nearly ripped this family apart when that bomb was dropped.  But I never expected some of the things to resurface the way they did and it was a great part of this storyline.  I felt like there was never really closure and now I do… So let’s get back to Rome he’s suffering hard core and needs help, he’s drinking his liver into submission and on the edge of becoming a full blown alcoholic.  He’s rude to everyone and takes out his frustration on anyone within striking distance.  Rome gets some help from a rather unexpected person in this book, and I don’t just mean Cora though she is helpful. Brite was a great addition to Rome’s story.  I won’t tell you too much about him but know that I copmletely adore this man, even if he probably doesn’t look very friendly I’d give him a big ol’ hug!  If it weren’t for him things would have turned out very differently.
Now Cora, boy is that girl a FIRECRAKER!  from the moment that this book kicks off her attitude and snark are in full force!  She’s so annoyed that the man that has come back isn’t what everyone told her he was.  Rome was portrayed to he as a the put together one, the kind one of the Archer men, but what she sees is a hardened man, and totally smoking HOT!  Did I mention that Rome is HOT yet???  I absolutely loved Cora in this book.  She’s looking for Mr. Perfect after the love of her life left her high and dry she would settle for nothing less then the perfect man.  But we all know that doesn’t exist.  But when Rome archer steps into the doors of the shop she sits up and takes notice, and boy does she notice….  Their attraction and connection is so perfect.  The way he worships her body and her art adorned skin was truly a beautiful thing.  He made me swoon on several occasions. She’s such a strong heroine.  Most of all I love how she gives 100% to these boys and even if they don’t want her saving them she does in more ways then one.  She does something truly AMAZING for the Archer family in this book, even knowing that it could go horribly wrong.  She’s a fixer and she’s bound to fix them all…
I loved that Asa and Rome formed a bit of a bond in this book and I’m really looking forward to seeing where that leads… Asa’s book is one I’m really looking forward too.  At the end of this one there are some things that go down and I cannot give that away but let’s just say your jaw will DROP TO THE FLOOR and you will be dying for Nash’s book!  I absolutely love Nash and I can’t wait for his book because it’s bound to be amazing after what went down in this one… Jay does such an amazing job weaving the characters together to make you care about them as a whole and not just as individuals.  This book weaves them all together like a family, and they are truly a big family… I love them all truly…
I could go on and on about how amazing this book is and I would probably give it all away, but know this.  This story will suck you in and keep you guessing.  It will make you squirm A LOT!  You will want to beat some of the characters over the head with a baseball bat, and you’ll want to bow at some of their feet and praise them for being so amazing!!!  I took several things away from this story… The biggest was that if just one person showed an interest in a person that has hit rock bottom, they just might save their life…

I give Rome 5 stars and beyond!  It’s an amazing read and I encourage you to pick up a copy and read these characters… If you have read the first two, pick up Rule and then Jet they are both equally awesome stories!!!!

About the Author

I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.
