Born into wealth and privilege, free-spirited Liv Quinn left it all behind when she realized there was more to life than living off of trust funds and barely skating by. Since then, she’s worked and fought for everything she’s earned and never looked back at the world or the family she left behind.
Jackson Reid is starting over with a new job in a brand new city. A single father to his son Noah, he hopes the change will help strengthen the bond that has seemed to suffer since puberty reared its ugly head. What he hadn’t planned on was Liv—his exotic next-door neighbor who drives him insane with her wild, new age lifestyle, but still manages to leave him aching for more.
As challenges arise and feelings intensify, will these neighbors be able to look past their differences and find a middle ground? When love comes knocking, will they be ready, or not?
Another home run for J.L. Berg’s Ready Series. I had been waiting on one Olivia Prescott to find her prince charming and Jackson was the perfect prince to add to this series. Each of the men in this series, will make you melt, but there is something about a single dad that seriously gets to me…
Olivia has been the love em and leave em type in this series, what the girls like to call her “flavor of the month”. But she’s happy this way, at least she thinks she is. But when Jackson moves into the neighbors house Liv doesn’t even know what to do, her attraction to him is instant, but he’s the enemy. He did ruin her flowerbeds after all! At each turn you will be laughing at the antics that these two pull.
You know they always say that boys tease the ones they like the most and well if that is the case then Jackson was head over heels from the very beginning. I loved their banter and the practical jokes. It give us a new side to see of Olivia who always seemed so unapproachable when it came to the emotional side of things. After reading her story it’s easy to understand why. She didn’t have the best upbringing, and her family, well HOT MESS is probably and understatement.
I truly enjoyed this one, the addition of Jackson and Noah to the character set in this series was perfect! I adore each of the books but this one was special. I loved the story and how their relationship unfolded, it was natural and so loving. Jackson knew just how to push all Liv’s buttons emotionally and physically. This one had some steam and some serious drama that was a twist I didn’t see coming. Overall a well rounded read that kept me turning the pages beginning to end… I give this one a 5 star seal of approval. I absolutely love her writing and her characters. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next…
