Becoming Rain Review Tour
About BECOMING RAIN:
Luke Boone doesn’t know exactly what his uncle Rust is involved in but he wants in on it—the cars, the money, the women. And it looks like he’s finally getting his wish. When Rust hands him the managerial keys to the garage, they come with a second set—one that opens up the door to tons of cash and opportunity. Though it’s not exactly legal, Luke’s never been one to worry about that sort of thing. Especially when it puts him behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 and onto the radar of gorgeous socialite named Rain.
Clara Bertelli is at the top of her game—at only twenty-six years old, she’s one of the most successful undercover officers in the Washington, DC, major crime unit, and she’s just been handed a case that could catapult her career and expose one of the West coast’s most notorious car theft rings. But, in order to do it, she’ll need to go deep undercover as Rain Martines. Her target? The twenty-four-year-old nephew of a key player who appears ready to follow in his uncle’s footsteps.
As Clara drifts deeper into the luxurious lifestyle of Rain, and further into the arms of her very attractive and charming target, the lines between right and wrong start to blur, making her wonder if she’ll be able to leave it all behind. Or if she’ll even want to.
I have read and loved every K.A. Tucker and Becoming Rain was no exception to this…. From the very beginning I was intrigued by the storyline… I mean how could you possibly have a Happy Ending if the woman is sent in to take down the man she falls for…..
Clara is an up and coming exemplary cop. She has proved herself in the DC circuit where she lives, and she is aspiring to be so much more. When she gets her shot at a case that could catapult her career she doesn’t balk at Becoming Rain Martinez, sexy woman, living a new life, driving a fancy car, getting manicures, its a far cry from her normal cop life back in DC. But she quickly embraces her persona and proves she will do what it takes to get Luke’s attention, even if it means breaking the rules a bit. She struggles with her conscience throughout the ordeal all the while trying to maintain her facade as Rain, but letting Luke see a little of Clara here and there… I felt for her and was truly on the edge of my seat waiting to see how this would all unfold.
Luke was introduced to us in Burying Water and I must tell you when I saw he was the hero in this book I was seriously skeptical. He came off so pompous at times in the first book I wasn’t sure how he could be seen more favorable in my eyes… But I should know by now that K.A. Tucker has a way of turning around my opinion and first impression. Luke did after all help Jesse and Alex… Luke is just too anxious to get into his uncles business. For me at times it felt more like Luke just needed a true purpose in life. Something of his own. He’s not had it easy really growing up, even though he’s led the life of privileged it hasn’t been sunshine and roses for him all the time. He struggles just as much with his identity and where he fits in. Every time he pushed and got involved in something new in this high risk business of his uncles I wanted to scream an throw my reader. I wanted so much for him to be the good guy and not get involved in any of the criminal activities. As he got deeper I really feared that there was no way that this could be spun positively. I truly did fall in love with Luke throughout the story, he shows us a new side we didn’t previously see in Burying Water and in the end I found that he made one perfect book boyfriend!
In the end I was left with that euphoric feeling that all of K.A. Tuckers books leaves me with. I was happy, I was satisfied and I still wanted more…. Any book that can evoke, laughter and tears, heartbreak and healing, and full joy is a solid win in my book! I loved every minute of this read, even when I wanted to walk away cause I didn’t think there could ever be anything good to come of all of it, I pushed through and the ending was worth every minute of angst and agony. K.A. Tucker brings such a realistic touch to her characters and novels, that you get immersed instantly and are always left begging for more… I highly recommend this series if you haven’t read them, pick them up today. You won’t be sorry….
And don’t forget BURYING WATER, the first book in this thrilling series…

About BURYING WATER:
The top-selling, beloved indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths returns with a new romance about a young woman who loses her memory—and the man who knows that the only way to protect her is to stay away.
Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?
Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried.
The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface.
