What I Need
Synopsis:From New York Times bestselling author, J. Daniels, comes a sexy new STANDALONE novel.
Riley Tennyson has made a huge mistake.
At least, that’s what she keeps telling herself.
Showing up to her brother’s wedding pissed off and newly single, Riley seeks comfort in solitude and an open bar, until the gorgeous and irresistibly charming CJ Tully makes her a better offer―a wild night with the master of smooth-talking where nothing is off limits.
Riley does what any single woman would do, and a connection is made. One neither one of them can ignore. But when she comes home to the boyfriend she no longer thought she had, Riley buries her secret and begs CJ to do the same.
Forget about each other. It was a mistake. That’s all it was… right?
Desires are hidden. Distance is kept. Until one night CJ makes the ultimate sacrifice, and Riley can no longer avoid the man she can’t stop thinking about.
Not with him sleeping down the hall…

When I signed up to review What I Need, I had no idea what to expect. I just thought it sounded like my kind of read and decided to give it a shot. Well….am I ever glad I did because O.M.G. was it ever a hot one! Like fanning myself and making sure nobody was looking over my shoulder while I was reading kinda HOT. And then imagine my surprise and delight when I found out it’s actually part of a series and that there is more of this deliciousness for me to enjoy. However, with that said, this can easily be read as a stand alone. I was able to follow the story with no problem but definitely found myself wanting to know more about these other “Bama Boys”. Especially one named Ben that is rumored to be packing quite a hefty package
What I Need is the story of Riley and CJ. Two adorable, sexy souls that meet at Riley’s brother, Reed’s, wedding and soon find themselves in between some sandy sheets. Riley has just broken up with her a-hole, loser boyfriend, Richard, and is in much need of some tequila and apparently a little CJ Tully. The minute CJ calls her “darlin” all bets (and panties) are pretty much off. After a weekend of debauchery and about a box of condoms, Riley heads back to move out of her ex-boyfriend’s house only to realize HE doesn’t realize she broke up with him. He apologizes which causes Riley all kinds of guilt and leads her to give the loser another chance (can you tell how awful he is?) This leads to poor CJ getting friend zoned when he was really hoping for a relationship with this girl.
Fast forward a bit…A-hole is finally out of the picture and nursing student, Riley, moves in to play nursemaid to a wounded CJ. I’m sure you can imagine where it goes from here. Not quite dirty nursey uniforms, but definitely some “special” care is given. Can you say sponge bath?? The steamy parts were off the charts…
“I want to be all over you darlin. I want you fucking smelling like me when you go back outside. He wants to lean close to you, I want him knowing I’ve been here. I want everyone knowing what we were doing. What we have. What you’re giving me. Cause you’re giving it, baby, aren’t you? You’re giving me this sweet pussy to come in.”
Sweet baby Jesus in a manger….CJ.Can.Bring.It. However, I have to say as much as I loved the dirty parts and the hotness, I most enjoyed their playful banter and sweet, fun side. The high fives and the “can I tell you a secret” made me fall in love with their characters even more than the steamy parts <3
Now I won’t say it was all unicorns and butterflies…there is definitely some angst and times when you will be like “oh WTF?!” but it’s all worth it in the end. If you are looking for a fun, sweet , steamy, with a little drama read, then WIN is the perfect book for you. This girl gives it a solid 4 stars and I look forward to checking out all the other Bama Boys ASAP!
