Wingman rule number two: never reveal how much you want them.
Lex hates Gabi. Gabi hates Lex. But, hey, at least the hate is mutual, right? All Lex has to do is survive the next few weeks training Gabi in all the ways of Wingmen Inc. and then he can be done with her. But now that they have to work together, the sexual tension and fighting is off the charts. He isn’t sure if he wants to strangle her or throw her against the nearest sturdy table and have his way with her.
But Gabi has a secret, something she’s keeping from not just her best friend but her nemesis too. Lines are blurred as Lex becomes less the villain she’s always painted him to be…and starts turning into something more. Gabi has always hated the way she’s been just a little bit attracted to him—no computer-science major should have that nice of a body or look that good in glasses—but “Lex Luthor” is an evil womanizer. He’s dangerous. Gabi should stay far, far away.
Then again, she’s always wanted a little danger.
So every time I get an RVD book, I never know what to expect. In the Matchmakers Playbook we met Ian and Lex, the owners and masterminds behind a college service helping girls get the men of their dreams. Ian while trying to help Blake fell for the tall, awkward, athlete and broke the cardinal rule. Now Gabi is venturing into a more important role at Wingmen, Inc. by taking on the male clients trying to land their “dream girl”. But what unravels between the always at odds Gabi and Lex is more than either bargained for.
It all started 4 years ago… Sounds like the beginning of a good story right? Well it is. When Lex see Gabi for the first time in many years, he almost brakes a rule, sleeping with the virgin, almost sister of his best friend. But he shrugs it off and what ensues for the next 4 years is a battle of whit, sexual tension, and frenzied war between the two. Gabi’s put herself out there one too many times and the continual rejection stings. Just when she would think that just maybe, playboy Lex, had a heart, she would get burned at the stake!
This book will keep you in stitches, between their banter and Ian’s over the top crazy reactions. This book really and truly made me laugh, cry, gasp and warm me from head to toe! Lex & Gabi are not to be missed!
