My relationship with Hunter Delucia started backwards.
We met at a wedding—him sitting on the groom’s side, me sitting on the bride’s. Stealing glances at each other throughout the night, there was no denying an intense, mutual attraction.
I caught the bouquet; he caught the garter. Hunter held me tightly while we danced and suggested we explore the chemistry sparking between us. His blunt, dirty mouth should’ve turned me off. But for some crazy reason, it had the opposite effect on me.
We ended up back in my hotel room. The next morning, I headed home to New York leaving him behind in California with the wrong number.
I thought about him often, but after my last relationship, I’d sworn off of charming, cocky, gorgeous-as-sin men. A year later, Hunter and I met again at the birth of our friends’ baby. Our attraction hadn’t dulled one bit. After a whirlwind trip, he demanded a real phone number this time. So I left him with my mother’s—she could scare away any man with her talks of babies and marriage—and flew back home.
I’d thought it was funny, until the following week when he rang the bell at Mom’s house for Sunday night dinner. The crazy, gorgeous man had won over my mother and taken an eight-week assignment in my city. He proposed we spend that time screwing each other out of our systems.
Eight weeks of mind-blowing sex with no strings attached? What did I have to lose?
Nothing, I thought.
It’s just sex, not love.
But you know what they say about the best laid plans…
Ok, first of all Vi Keeland can do NO wrong! This woman could write chemistry books and I’d probably still read them because I know she would find a way to make it sweet, funny and sexy…ok, well maybe not chemistry, but you get my point. I’ve read every single one of her books and have loved them all. She has a great way of making you connect and fall in love with her characters, no matter how flawed or douchey they may be Hunter Delucia is no exception to this and you will immediately find yourself head over heels for this self pronounced bachelor playboy…and dare I say “manwhore”.
Hunter and Natalia meet at a mutual friend’s wedding and right away there is major sexual tension! Hunter knows just the buttons to push to get Natalia riled up. Natalia has sworn off men after a nasty divorce and a very complicated situation with her ex-husband, but still has some “needs” she would like to have met. Having proclaimed himself as one to never settle down, Hunter is the perfect person to fulfill these “needs”.
“Hunter’s sex, not love. As long as you go in with that frame of mind, I bet he blows your mind.”
It takes some time but they finally give into their urges and find their way to each other with the agreement that their relationship will be purely based on friendship and S.E.X. I think we all know how those relationships go…someone always develops feelings. In this case, it is both parties but Hunter has a secret that keeps him from being able to commit no matter how much he wants Natalia.
You will definitely fall in love with these two and their quirky banter. Every time Hunter says “kiss me” you will swoon like a 13 year old schoolgirl meeting Justin Bieber…no lie! And he freaking calls her “sweet pea”. He seriously doesn’t get any more perfect…except for the secret that is holding him back and it’s a WHOPPER!
If you are looking for a book that is fun, sexy, steamy and a little angsty, then Sex, Not Love is the book for you! I can’t recommend it or any of Vi’s books enough! It’s a solid 4.5 stars for this girl!
