Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry Charles Albert Edgar Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap.
He’s not handling it well.
Hoping to force her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora goes on a much-needed safari holiday—and when the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own:
Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition.
A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world’s most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart.
While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye.
The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit…and her naughty sense of humor.
But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight.
As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.
This book…. simply blew me away! I loved it from cover to cover, and lately that hasn’t been the case with books I’ve read. This book though isn’t the first time I read something like this type of plot, was unique and refreshing read! I love the underdog and if you ask me Sarah was def the underdog.
Sarah is the bookworm sister, the one thats looked over mostly. She’s socially awkward at times and terrified of public speaking. Where as her sister is outspoke, the life of the party. When a television producer comes knocking on their door, Sarah’s sister sees it as a chance to become the star she’s always wanted to be. Sarah has absolutely no desire to go be a part of this farce of a show, however if it gets her out of a big public speaking event at work, she’s all game! What transpires is nothing she expected….
Henry is a playboy. He’s never had to keep in line since he wasn’t the heir to the throne… But when his brother shocked the monarchy and abstained to marry the love of his life, Henry just became the number one! What we find is there is so so much more to Henry. He has feelings and hopes and dreams, and maybe they aren’t what the Queen his grandmother believes, but Henry needs to pave his own path, and make his mistakes and learn from them. But his latest scheme might get him more trouble then he bargained for! He couldn’t understand why his brother would give everything up for love, until now…
Henry and Sarah are amazing characters! I love them both so much. They are actually more perfect for each other then I could have imagined. She’s steady and smart, he’s witty and outgoing and they match in every way necessary. You know what they say opposites attract. Even in the midst of all these royalty bound women, Henry can help but see the quite beauty in Sarah. It’s so refreshing to not see the perfect, prettiest girl get the guy. Though their road is not without issues, and you’ll see why…
My only issue was with the ending, I thought it felt very unfinished and a little bit rushed for my liking. But I’m hoping that maybe we haven’t seen the last of these two! In the end I still couldn’t help but love every part of this story beginning to end! Pick this up today, even if you didn’t read the first book, you don’t need to. It’s truly worth it!
