A STARLET REVIEW & NEW RELEASE : THROTTLED BY ELIZABETH LEE

Synopsis:

Reid Travers knows how to win. Becoming Motocross royalty was always the plan, and he was willing to make sacrifices along the way to reach his goal. Sacrifices he thought he could live with until he returned to the small town where he grew up and learned to ride, and, more importantly, where he fell in love.

When fate sends Nora Bennett back into his life, he takes one look at her and realizes that he made a huge mistake breaking up with her five years ago. Now, he'll do whatever it takes to win her back. As Reid sets out to earn her forgiveness and convince her that the guy she's dating is not the one for her, Nora finds herself torn between what her head is telling her and what her heart wants.

It's a race he never expected to be in, for a girl he can't stand to lose again.

An Excerpt from Throttled

Reid Travers had grown up. He had always been attractive, but time and professional racing had done something to his features and body that he should have thanked the good Lord every day for. His jawline and nose seemed more chiseled. His eyes wiser and brighter. Well-worn jeans hung around his hips, the waistband sitting just below a set of abs that had me thinking all kinds of things—none of which had anything to do with a real estate transaction. While my stomach was a knot of nervousness, below that something inside of me was coiling so tightly that the possibility of shooting straight into the sky seemed feasible. Especially if he kept looking at me the way he was. His brown eyes were locked on mine and I was helpless to look away. “Nora Bennett,” he said as he closed the distance between us. He ran his hand down his jawline, the days’ worth of stubble only adding to his new all-grown-up appeal. “How are you?”

“Fine,” I answered softly as he reached out. The second his hand touched my arm, I knew I was in trouble—his rough, calloused fingertips met my smooth skin and it was like striking a match.

My Review

I was so excited to get this early copy of Elizabeth Lee’s secret book.  The minute I read Motocross, and second chance romance I knew that this would be a great book!  I am a sucker for those adrenaline junkie bad boys, that risk their lives driving dirt bikes… And since I myself live a real life second chance romance story, I always love reading about them, even the fictional kind.

Nora, a scorned teenager who’s now grown into a woman, independent, good job, boyfriend.  But the one thing missing in her life is the passion, promise of excitement, and the little walk on the dangerous side she had with her old boyfriend Reid Travers.  Unfortunately he left her hurt and heartbroken, so she lived the life of safety, not taking risks, and not letting herself get hurt again.

Reid’s as wild as ever, but people believe what they want about him.  Very few know the real truth.  His best friend and his brother, his closest confidants follow up to the town he grew up in where he intends to buy his families land and build them their dream home, after all they have given up everything for his career.  What Reid didn’t realize is that he would be taking a step back in time to when he had his first very real love, Nora, step back into his life.

The struggle for Reid and Nora to find footing again after all these years was very realistic.  Nora has held on to so much resentment and rightfully so, but you will also feel that Reid did the right thing for them both, but since he was a teenager and didn’t really have the wherewithal do it tenderly, he hurt her beyond words.  You will laugh at his antics, and her shooting him down, you will cry for them both when you hear the truths about Nora’s pain after Reid left.  You will cheer for them to become a couple again, and you will be enraged by the antics of their enemy… I loved this one beginning to end.  Elizabeth paints a beautiful, touching and memorable story about two young lovers finding their way back to each other, and their struggle to mend the fences of the past, and see what the future might hold.  If you love romance, second chances and a little bit of a bad boy, pick up Throttled today!  You won’t be sorry!

About Elizabeth Lee

Elizabeth Lee

When I'm not writing or playing the part of wife and mom, you can find me dancing back-up for Beyonce, singing back-up for Miranda, or sunning myself on the beach with a drink in hand. Here's the thing about being born and raised in a small town--you have a very vivid imagination! Now, I channel it all to create stories where the girl always ends up with the right guy, first kisses are magical, and a happy ending is just that!

a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind.

I was interested to find out how you center yourself

I have had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts
out there. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first

    Thanks!
