The newest, highly anticipated novel from beloved #1 New York Times bestselling author, Colleen Hoover.It Ends with Us
Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most. Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true. Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place. As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened. With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all-too-human characters, It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.
Let me start by saying I absolutely adore Colleen Hoover. I started reading her when she was still Indie and Slammed has such a special place in my heart that NO OTHER book can ever fill. Every book she has written since I’ve loved but never quite as much as Slammed (Confess came close for me but still- WILL COOPER)..
I remember reading one of Colleen’s Facebook posts about how she had to lock herself away at a hotel and write this book and it was her first book she had written that made her cry. Well that just gave me more excitement and anxiety about what this book was going to do to my little baby heart. I mean, I SOB at every CoHo book. I went into this book blind… I tried to steer clear of every teaser because I knew from what she had said- this one would be a doozy.
I HAD NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS BOOK WOULD AFFECT ME.
I always rave about Colleen’s books- this one made me literally sit my kindle down and sob into my crossed arms..
When I finished, I just sat there wondering what I was going to do with my life now? How do I go on after reading something THAT POWERFUL? This book grabbed me and literally ripped me into the pages, weaving a piece of my heart into every chapter. I’m 2 month post-read and I’m still raw from the emotions I felt reading it.
When I realized it was release time and I need a review- I had panic all over. How can I even review this book? How do you put “these” emotions into coherent words so that others can sense the amount of emotions you are STILL having from one story?
THE ANSWER:: YOU CAN’T.
I can’t explain this to you in a review because these feelings DEMAND to be felt while YOU are experiencing this story. This is unlike ANY book I’ve ever read (Colleen or any other author) I don’t think I can ever move past it or love ANY book as much as I loved It End With Us.
Colleen took something so personal to her and transformed it into a literary masterpiece of emotions.
I guarantee this book will touch every single person who reads it. She stepped out of her comfort zone writing something that pushes you to breaking point and obliterates you in the best and worst ways. I’m never going to forget this story. I don’t want to. I couldn’t if I tried. Lily and Ryle’s story is one that you feel to your bones.
I know I always suggest Colleen Hoover’s books to anyone who will listen, but this one isn’t a suggestion- it’s a MUST. If we are friends- YOU HAVE TO READ IT. If I don’t know you- YOU HAVE TO READ IT.
Moral of this story::: READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!! HUGE FIVE STAR!!!! BEST BOOK OF 2016 HANDS DOWN!
