Into the Fire
Despite everything I've done for my parents, I'll never be good enough for them. Instead of seeing a man to be proud of, they just see an embarrassment. I served four tours in Afghanistan but that doesn't mean anything to them. They only see the ink, the party life, and my short stint in jail.
And nothing else.
When they were in trouble, I handed over my life savings. I didn't think twice about it because they're my family, my blood. They raised me to be my own man and gave me everything I needed. It didn't matter that it was every penny I had. It didn't matter that the money was set aside for my future. My dreams.
Because they needed me.
But now they refuse to pay me back until I become the man they think I should be.
I have an unusual professional.
I escort men, acting as their date to family functions or work parties. It's my job to act deeply in love with my client. And I always nail it.
But it's not what you think.
I'm not a prostitute.
I'm not a call girl.
I'm an actress.
Get it right.
There are strict rules when it comes to my profession. There is no touching, kissing, or anything but hand-holding. Those who choose not to comply will get a swift kick in the nuts.
But all this goes to hell when Ash walks into my life.

An Excerpt from Into the Fire
I felt the distant burn. It was so foreign I wasn’t entirely sure what it was. But it was coming, and it was going to be powerful. “I think I’m going to come.”
“No, Alessandra. You are going to come.” He leaned far over me, his pelvic bone rubbing against my clitoris as he slammed into me hard. The headboard smacked into the wall repeatedly, echoing loudly in the room. Ash gave it to me as hard as possible, and his chest dripped with sweat as he gave it to me good.
And then it happened.
It was like a cosmic explosion deep inside me. I was so hot and sweaty, but that suddenly felt good during the experience. My body tightened around him because my muscles had lost control. My nails dug into his hips as I yanked him harder into me, out of my mind in my euphoric state. “Ash…”
He watched every expression I made, and he moaned as the fire burned in my eyes. “I love watching this.”
My nails scratched his back as I finished the high. I slowly came down, like a feather on the wind. I drifted back to earth, still feeling the distant pleasure throbbing deep in my body. “Oh my god…”
Ash slowed down then stopped. He leaned far over me and gave me a hot kiss. His tongue found mine and they danced together. I cupped his face as passion and gratitude overtook me. “I’m not done with you.” He sucked my bottom lip before he abruptly turned me over on my stomach. He shoved himself inside me again, making me cry out because his entrance felt amazing just like before. He pressed one hand against my lower back as he fucked me hard into the mattress. His power made my body rub against the sheets, and my clitoris was stimulated all over again. His lips found my ear. “This is how a man fucks his woman.”
This was my very first read by E.L. Todd, so into the fire I went! I’m so thankful for this hobby as a blogger! I seriously have met some fabulous authors, read some amazing books, and this outlet truly allows for us all to find some diamonds in the rough… E.L. Todd quickly went to the top of my list of must reads! This book kept me entertained and enthralled from the beginning to the end! I was never quite sure how it was going to turn out. I was rooting for Ash and Alessandra from the moment that they met.
Their relationship is completely “Unconventional” but it works for them. He doesn’t want anything real or lasting and she’s getting paid to make his parents believe that he was “IN LOVE” and get the money back to start up his business.
Ash has the worst parents, they are judgmental, rude and down right ignorant. Ash has done everything to become the man that they would respect but all they care about is what the neighbors would say about their son becoming a tattoo shop owner. The truth is even in the “real world” their is still such a stigma among people about those with tattoos. It’s a beautiful expression of art and people just need to get over it, like Ash’s parents. I really loved Ash’s character, he didn’t mix words, until he fell for the girl…
Alessandra has been hurt, left by her ex, for another woman. She’s now working as an actress for the most part. She gets paid to play a role. It could be a date for a divorced man that doesn’t want to attend his work function alone, or maybe even a bad boy that has to convince his parents he’s fallen in love. There is no touching, she’s not that kind of girl. She’s jaded toward love, and trying hard to break out of the funk, but being paid to escort men, might not be a job that would be approved of by another man she’s dating. I felt for her, stuck between a rock and a hard place. Give up the man or the job basically. But she’s highly independent and will rely on no man, EVER again!
These two go through one heck of a whirlwind ride… From the very beginning the tension builds and when they finally give it. The fire burns so good. Ash’s dirty mouth and Alessandra’s wild side in the bedroom light up the sheet with red hot flames! I loved every minute from beginning to the end. There were one or two spots where I was a little disappointed in the story line, but overall this was one solid read and made me a fan of E.L. Todd’s writing and storytelling. I recommend this read, it’s light, sweet, with a side of angst and a whole lot of heat!!
