Synopsis:Ink & Lies
From International Best Selling Romance Novelist, Hope Hughes, comes a gripping, heartfelt tale of two lovers, fighting for the freedom to…
No. Scratch that. Too cheesy.
…two people, torn apart by the tumultuous tides of life, only to discover refuge in…
WTF? What does that even mean? DELETE.
…two people, confused as shit as to where they should be and who they should love and none of this means a damn thing because it’s all lies!
I’m not Hope Hughes. I’m not some fierce woman romance machine. Hell, I’m not even a woman.
I’m a liar.
And while I refuse to believe my own BS, deceit masked in heartfelt phrases of love and devotion, I want to make her believe them. Because maybe—just maybe—if she can find the soul within my words, she’ll also be able to find the truth scribbled on my heart.
You see, I once lived for the perfect plot twist.
I just never expected to actually live it.
This is my story. Well, maybe her story. I just wish I could make it our story.
The one I’m still writing.

The first thing that drew me to this book was the cover. When it revealed, I was SO excited to read it. Then I realized this was a friends-to-Lovers story and I was BEYOND excited. Those are always one of my favorite types of stories to read.
August Rhys Calloway is a writer. He’s actually writes under a different name and is a very successful romance novelist. Not many know his true identity but one of the few people who knows his secret is Fiona, his long time best friend and a true romantic at heart.
Rhys doesn’t believe in or want to find love. Accept in his heart- he’s always love Fi. Instead of dealing with those feelings, he chooses to avoid them and sabotages their friendship in doing so.
I LOVE S.L. Jennings writing style. While Rhys was kind of a jerk, she kept me loving him along the way. Rooting for him, even when he didn’t deserve it. I LOVED that this story was told from his POV. Reading a book from a male POV usually is rough for me.. This one worked. She kept it feeling legitimate and interesting and I truly felt like a “guy” was telling me his story.
4.5 stars for Ink and Lies- One of my favs so far of 2016!
