Fall in love with Sweetbriar Cove in another swoon-worthy romance by Melody Grace!

Artist Mackenzie Lane is almost thirty and still single, which, according to her neighbors, pretty much makes her the Spinster of Sweetbriar Cove. She's sworn off terrible fix-ups, and is looking forward to her solo future of woolly mumus and cats. (Lots of cats). But a chance Halloween rendezvous awakens her reckless spirit, and makes her wonder if love might be in the cards, after all...

Jake Sullivan is back in town for the first time in years, recovering from a career-ending sports injury. He's dazzled by the mysterious woman he meets by chance - and even more intrigued when he discovers it's his high-school friend Mackenzie.

Ten years ago, Jake was the first (and only) guy to put a dent in Mackenzie's invincible heart. She's determined not to make the same mistake again, but when the pair are forced to team up to plan the annual Starbright Festival, old sparks fly - and new passion runs riot.

Soon, Mackenzie and Jake are risking it all. But will their connection last longer than the first snowfall? And can these old friends start a new chapter for love? Find out in the sizzling, romantic new novel from New York Times bestselling author Melody Grace!

My Review

Who doesn’t love a sweet friends to lovers romance!  I’m a sucker for this genre… Especially when one thinks the feelings are completely unrequited!  Mackenzie and Jake, the most unlikely best friends in high school, now adults and finding new ground to share.  I haven’t read any of the other books in this series but this one caught my eye, and I assure you that you don’t need to read them in order, but if you start here like I did you’ll want to go back and read the first few, cause their stories are intriguing… Melody does a fabulous job blending the couples from the previous books into I’m Yours and she truly leaves you wanting that next book!

Mackenzie and Jake are absolutely perfect for each other.  The are the yin and the yang.  They always say opposites attract and how much more opposite can you get from a girl interested in everything artsy and raised by hippies and an NFL football star!  Their sleepy little town isn’t somewhere Jake thought he would ever be again.  Sweetbriar Cove wasn’t somewhere he wanted to return to, he loved his life in the city, the sounds, the people, his teammates, but sometimes life has other things in store for us.  Mackenzie always knew that Sweetbriar Cove would be where she would settle in life.  Her business gives her enough to keep her busy, and on the side she works on her art, the stuff she doesn’t usually let others see.  She’s quirky and a little odd, but she’s sweet, funny and sexy without trying.

I really enjoyed their story and watching them fight against their feelings for each other, and the banter and fun with the people of the town.  Especially the meddlesome woman who places them together planning the annual Christmas festival in their little town.  The town, the people, it made me wish for life in a little town just like it.  I always enjoy Melody’s books and I really liked this one a lot.  I had a few issues with the plot where I wish it would have been expanded more and a few times where things got a little repetitive, but over all I really enjoyed this storyline and Mackenzie and Jake are the sweetest couple! Give this one a shot if you like the friends to lovers genre.  You’ll enjoy it!
