About Hot for the Fireman:

Ex-Army Ranger Erik Grady lives for the job. So when his chief at the Boston Fire Department offers him two choices—mandated therapy for supposed PTSD or a permanent desk job at the station, he reluctantly agrees to see a shrink. Only this doctor is unlike anything he expected. Female and curved in all the right places? Check. Hotter than a four-alarm fire? Check. The kind of woman that can heat his blood in and out of bed? Check, check. And oh, yeah, he just happens to have first hand experience…

Of all the men to walk into psychologist Olivia Jones’ office, why did it have to be him? Her one-night stand isn’t playing by the rules of just. One. Night. She’s had her heart broken in the past, and no way is she going there again. And now he’s blackmailing her into three dates? Well, if that’s what it takes to make him see a different therapist, fine. She can handle it. So what if the chemistry between them is combustible? She’s a professional, damn it. She’ll date Mr. I’m Too Sexy For My Bunker Pants. But it won’t end in the fun he expects.

It’s time to see how much heat this fireman can take…

My Review

I had not read a Gina Maxwell book in a long time, but I’m so glad that I read this one. Hot for the Fireman is about 2 strangers who’s evening starts out bad, and they bump into each other at a store…. he’s been eavesdropping on her conversation, a hilarious conversation mind you… Gina is always, always funny with her banter, had me laughing out loud numerous times…. and they decide to have a one night stand … an amazing one night stand mind you.
Well… come to find out his bad evening was because he was put on  leave from the fire department for PTSD and she is a licensed psychologist. And they run into each other again very soon. Olivia works in her Uncles office.. I won’t say how it all goes down because that’s for you to read but needless to say they’re constantly running into each other and the angst and sexual tension is through the roof and absolutely hilarious.
And anything containing PTSD you know you’re going to have some heavy, very serious subject matter..  which of course, is in this book. Real stuff goes down.. triggers happen.. memories…  scary things that have to be worked through … Gina does an amazing job of pulling it altogether and bringing the story full circle for everyone involved…  I could tell that she’s even setting up for another book .. there is a part where another fireman and his girl kind of talk about their story … so I’m excited to see who or what the next one is going to be about…  because there’s more than one fireman in that hot fire house… LOL

Erik braced both hands on the tree on either side of her head, and the way his jaw muscles flexed when he wasn’t talking told her he was keeping a tight leash on his control. “Christ, you’re all I think about. It’s making me crazy. I haven’t even noticed another woman since the night we spent together.” He couldn’t have shocked her more if he told her he was wearing women’s underwear “you’re serious” “F yeah, I am,” he rumbled. “I’m trying to get you to see that this isn’t some game to me. I’m not looking for a challenge to earn bragging rights like some frat boy, and if all I wanted was pussy, I get it at the Phoenix from the Hose Hunnies jockeying to get into a fireman’s bed. Believe me, they’re not in short supply.” Erik~
