a song by Tro Gunnison
Wouldn’t care if I could. I’m up to no good.
Taking what I want instead of what I should.
I’m made of pure greed. There’s shit that I need.
The mask is off and the demon’s freed.
I’m gonna get drunk.
I’m gonna get played.
I’m gonna get rich.
I’m gonna get laid.
And I’m gonna get Lucky.
Raised in the system, Shiloh Luck’s first sixteen years have been anything but lucky. After winning The Voice, she’s finally living the dream—a record contract, talk shows, a North American tour opening for the hottest band out there. Everything is going according to plan...until their frontman, Tro Gunnison, explodes her life into chaos. He’s shallow, self-centered, and completely infuriating, and he’ll do anything for notoriety. Including her. Like it or not, she’s stuck with him for three months on the road, but the longer they spend together, the more she begins to realize there’s more to Tro than anyone has ever dug deep enough to find. If his attention is anything other than just another publicity gimmick, she might let herself see where it leads. But before she can risk everything, she has to be sure.
If there’s one thing that Tro Gunnison has learned in the six years since he left his past in the dust, it’s that living life big, bold, and totally outrageous keeps people from seeing past the glare. He’s buried his demons beneath six feet of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, and he’s convinced no one will ever dig them up…until Lucky. She’s young, but not naive, and without even trying, she sees past the facade to the man underneath…which scares the hell out of him. Because what started out as smoke and mirrors has somehow turned real, and for the first time in his life, there’s someone he cares about more than himself. But it turns out getting Lucky could be a double-edged sword.
He’s always been sure it would be his past that would bring him down, but it might turn out to be Jail Bait instead.

So I’m not really sure what is says about me that I enjoy “taboo” books as much as I do, but if loving taboo is wrong…then I don’t want to be right!! I thoroughly enjoy these Mia Storm books and am always first in line for my chance to review them. I also like the way the characters are interwoven throughout each book (although they can definitely be read as stand alones) so I can check in with some of my favorite characters and see what they are up to.
GL is the story of Shiloh Luck (we met her in Bran and Delilah’s book as Lilah’s singing BFF) and Tro Gunnison, lead singer for the band, Roadkill. Shiloh and Tro meet on the set of a talk show and soon learn they will be touring together. Tro finds himself instantly attracted to Shiloh, or Lucky as he calls her, and vows to “tap” that ASAP. LIttle does he know that his latest fascination is only 16 years old!
Shiloh, on the other hand, has other plans which include staying as far away from Tro as possible. She has grown up in the foster care system and is very wary to trust anyone. Shiloh knows Tro’s reputation as a player and wants nothing to do with being another notch on his belt. Meanwhile, Tro is pretty smitten with Lucky and is tiring of his manwhore ways. He feels very protective of Shiloh and finds himself wanting to protect and help her.
“There’s no fucking question I want her, but more, I want to protect her from this world. My world. Me. And all the assholes just like me. Which is every fucking guy in this business, from the frontline all the way down to the riggers.”
One of the things I loved about this book was the fact that Tro was the chaser and Shiloh fights their attraction with everything she has.
“I don’t want to fall in love with Tro. He doesn’t do love. But like a tsunami intent on my destruction, there doesn’t seem to be any stopping it.”
Ultimately there is no stopping the sparks between these two and they find there way to one another. By the time they “do the deed”, Lucky is 17 so that makes it better, right??? I’m telling myself it is ok. What is age really? Shiloh has seen more in her short life than some 40 year olds. That definitely counts for something. Of course, as usual, there is no smooth sailing for our sexy couple and there is a bit of a twist at the end that you don’t see coming which threatens to pull our two lovebirds apart. Luckily, Shiloh is tough and doesn’t put up with Tro’s crap. I really found myself loving her character and rooting for their relationship. This is a great, steamy, heartfelt read that I definitely recommend. A big, shiny 3.5 stars for me!! I promise you will enjoy it!
