Synopsis:Lauren Michaels is exhausted with the push and pull of copy editing for Los Angeles’s woman’s magazine, Frenzy, which caters to pop culture, style, and above all, sex.
She wants to write for the magazine rather than edit, but her boss is convinced that Lauren’s conservative tendencies won’t fit in with the risqué nature of what Frenzy is about.
Convinced to make her mark, Lauren begs for the chance to prove herself.
Her mission? To investigate the growing popularity of sex clubs in Los Angeles, and figure out how the sensual underworld functions.
Out of her element, Lauren starts her search with pen and paper in hand at a local sex shop, hoping she’ll find a trail that leads to the lairs of sex and fetishes. Instead, it leads her to Nathan Sanders. He’s daunting, charming, and a little too dark and mysterious for her taste, but Lauren knows he’s what she needs as her way in.
What she doesn’t see coming is that Nathan is all too willing to invite her to a nightclub she’s only ever heard stories about, and also the fact that Nathan know’s Lauren doesn’t have a clue what she’s getting herself into.
This could be fun, they said. There’s no harm in it, they agreed.
Little do they know, a little research can serve up some unexpected results.

Every now and then you take a chance on a book and an author you’ve never heard of and are pleasantly surprised by what you read. That’s exactly what happened when I read Fahrenheit by Alexa Rose. I had no idea what I was reading when I started it. All I knew was that I thought the blurb sounded interesting so I signed up to review it. Well, thank goodness I did because I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was refreshingly different and kept me interested from start to finish. When a book starts the first chapter in a sex store and the first words said between our couple is “So, do you like anal?” you just KNOW it is going to be game on from there and it definitely WAS!
Lauren Michaels is an editor/wanna be journalist who has embarked on a mission to get her first big story in order to convince her boss she is ready for a promotion. Much to her chagrin, her boss has assigned her to uncover the story of Fahrenheit, LA’s underground, exclusive sex club. Hence, the trolling of dirty sex stores, anal beads and blow up dolls. Lauren is WAY out of her element when she meets Nathan (Nate) Sanders at sex store #7. Low and behold her surprise when he invites her to Fahrenheit. Jackpot!! Lauren decides to attack her research by jumping in with both feet and embarks on a torrid sexual relationship with Nathan.
“Whoever he is, Nathan Sanders wants to fuck me, and I can’t imagine a better person to be my guide.”
And I’m not talking about a vanilla, roses, candles, unicorns (ouch, that would hurt) and rainbows sexual relationship, but a blindfolds, handcuffs, spankings, exibitionist kind of sex. With LOTS of hot dirty talk. However, the sex parts, while delicious, weren’t what drew me in. It was the banter between these two that had me turning pages as fast as I could. I absolutely loved Lauren and her sassy mouth! Nate definitely got more than he bargained for with Lauren. She was nothing like his usual Fahrenheit partners and he soon found himself in deep which scared the bejesus out of him since he is totally against commitment and prefers to keep his sex casual and dirty.
Yes, you guessed it, he has been burned by a previous girlfriend and is terrified of having his heart broken again. Isn’t that always the way?? Who ARE these bitches that are screwing over these ridiculously hot men that give multiple orgasms and treat them like queens?? Probably all off together somewhere living on the Island of WTF Was I Thinking and Regret. At least I hope they are.
But back to our story. Lauren admits to Nate that she is writing the article and he agrees to help her as long as he is not named as her source. Lauren then embarks on a sexual awakening that she finds she can’t get enough of.
“I’m still on the freshman team of sexual sports, but let me tell you, I was thoroughly excited for the potential to earn that varsity letter in sexcapades.”
I just love her! Of course, these two can’t deny their attraction and feelings emerge. Nate, being the commitment phobe, dumb man that he is, runs for the hills as soon as he realizes this and it just goes off the rails from there. I won’t say much more but I will say I loved the end and if you’ve ever seen Never Been Kissed, then your inner Josie Grossie will be cheering them on. I can’t recommend this fantastic book enough and give it 4 huge stars!! You don’t want to miss this one!
