Synopsis:Gabrielle Boudreaux, the youngest of the Boudreaux clan, is a single mother of her young son, Sam. Running a Bed and Breakfast at the family plantation house at the edge of the Mississippi River, Gabby loves her inn, her boy and her family. She meets new people every day, and takes pride in the house and land that has been in her family for more than five generations. Blessed beyond measure, she’s also lonely, although she would never admit that to anyone. Until Rhys O’Shaughnessy walks through her door, brooding and wounded and the sexiest thing she’s ever laid eyes on.
Rhys has been at the top of his game as a major league pitcher for the Chicago Cubs for more than ten years. Baseball is in his blood. But when he tears his rotator cuff and has to sit a season out, he retreats to Inn Boudreaux at the recommendation of his cousin, Kate, to heal and work toward building his shoulder back to perfect shape with only one goal in mind: to return to the game he loves. But he didn’t plan on being utterly charmed by a devastatingly beautiful woman and her baseball-loving son.
When Rhys’ shoulder has healed and he’s given the chance to return to his team, will he leave the family he’s come to love behind, or will he stay with Gabby and Sam?

Easy Charm is the second book in the Boudreaux Series. This book follows the story of Gabby, the Bed & Breakfast owner we met in Easy Love. Gabby is a hard working single mother, making a living on her family property that was turned into a B&B, by she and her family. She works hard day and night to keep the business running, and to keep her son health, happy and safe. Her family worries that she’s too isolated and that she really needs to get out there an experience life. But Gabby disagrees, all she needs is her work and her son, and the love of her family. That is until Rhys O’Shaughnessy shows her all the things that she is missing in her life.
Rhys is still recovering from his injury to his shoulder, and at the suggestion of his best friend and cousin Kate, Rhys arrives at Inn Boudreaux with one thing on his mind. Recovery, relaxation and strengthening his shoulder. What he doesn’t count on is Gabby Boudreaux turning his regimented life upside down! Ryhs can’t help but fall for the beautiful and independent woman as soon as he meets her, that southern charm, that’s not fake is something he isn’t accustomed too in his line of work. As a professional baseball player he sees all kinds of fake women throwing themselves at ball players. But Gabby could care less who he is or what his job is. And he loves that about her. He also forms an immediate bond with her son Sam. Sam’s a charming and charismatic child, and a character you will become very fond of very quickly!
I loved the dynamic between Rhys and Gabby and I loved that he included Sam in everything he did. They have fantastic passion and really do light up the night like fireworks on the 4th of July when they finally come together. As a single mom Gabby could wish for nothing more then someone to accept her child, and Rhys proves from the beginning that he isn’t trying to use Sam to get the girl! I also love Gabby’s brothers and her family. They will always rally around each other in a time of need and when Gabby needs them the most they come through, without hesitation. She’s so stubborn and tries to do everything on her own, so seeing them break through to her at times really melts your heart.
Overall this second book left me with that euphoric and happy feeling that all of Kristen’s books leave me with. There were a few plot lines that I would have liked to have seen developed further, but overall it’s another solid, romantic read that will leave you feeling lighthearted and satisfied at the end. Kristen has a way of just making you fall completely in love with her hero’s, and in this one, Rhys really captured my heart with his love of not only Gabby, but her little boy.
And don’t forget to grab the first book in the Boudreaux Series!
