A STARLET REVIEW: DEVIL YOU KNOW BY L.A. FIORE

Synopsis:

Damian Tate. One look into his sad green eyes and I was hooked. I wanted to be the one to make him laugh, to make him smile. I hadn't expected him to be the one to make me blush, to make me hot...to make me fall in love. He was my first kiss, my first love, my first everything. I wanted forever with him, but life got in the way.

He enlisted, I went to college, and for years we were never in the same place long enough to pick up where we left off.

Thirteen years after he left, tragedy brings him home. The stoic boy I fell in love with grew into a quiet, dangerous and wildly sexy man. He still tugs on all the right strings for me, but he seems determined to keep me at arm's-length.

However, when trouble comes knocking at my door, he is the one to put himself between that trouble and me.

Spending time with him might drive me insane, or it might be our second chance at first love.

My Review

Damian is a young boy who’s father leaves him and his mom. His mother hated him for it.
She would tell Damian such mean things. Things like your his little spawn. You’re no good. His mother tells him your father should have took you with him, but he didn’t want you either.
He thinks he is no good.
No body will ever love him, or want him.
And if they did, they would just end up leaving him, just like his dad left him.
Cam. What an incredible friend with an incredible family.
Cam has a sister named Thea.
Thea is a crazy haired girl with a beautiful smile that would steal Damian’s heart.
They were young with trails of life, but Damian would find love in a family he never had.
Life, however, gets in the way. The both have dreams,  wants, and goals. They put them on hold so they both can discover their own being.
Years go by. Military for him, college and a career for her.
The friends that are made along the way will become family with the Ahern family. They will help take care of each other without a second thought.
When tragedy strikes, Cam who has followed in his father foot steps as a cop will do whatever it takes to find out what really happened.  Thea is force to go into hiding we meet new people that become a special part of Thea & Damian’s lives.
When they are able to go and discover the truth they are able to be at peace and move forward.
With a promise of a life time. They will start with that.
This is a story that has several different things within it going on.
I am definitely curious to see where the next book in the series goes.

About L.A. Fiore

L.A. Fiore is the author of several books including Beautifully Damaged, Collecting the Pieces and His Light in the Dark. Her favorite movie is Star Wars, a love her son shares. They hope to build their own Millennium Falcon one day. She would like to meet the Winchester Boys to thank them for enlightening her on the versatility of salt as not just a food enhancer, but as protection from supernatural threats. And she thinks it would be interesting to be a zombie, to get an idea of what life is like as a brain-addicted fiend so she can be their voice to tell their side of the story. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and kids, their two spoiled cats and their awesome dog.
