Beneath Blood And Bone
Synopsis:It is the end of the world…
They call him Eagle. Like the grand and beautiful animal that symbolizes freedom. And during these dark times, when humanity is full of nothing but suffering, a man with such a powerful name should be a beacon of hope.
He is anything but.
Her name is Autumn. Though she hasn’t said this name, or much of anything else, in the four years since the fall of civilization. A shell of her former self, and living wild in a cave at the bottom of a ravine, Autumn is accustomed to being alone. She prefers it actually, especially when her only other options for company are either trying to kill her, or worse, lock her up inside their walls.
Captured by Eagle’s people Autumn is suddenly thrust back into the land of the living, though she would hardly call it living. The community of Purgatory is full of sinners, the most evil of which seem to have set their sights on her.
In an act born of anger and defiance, Eagle becomes Autumn’s unexpected savior forcing these two solitary people into one another’s broken worlds. Neither knows quite what to make of the other, but one thing is certain.
To survive Purgatory, they will need to learn how to rely on each other; a feat that could quite possibly teach them how to live again.

This series was a surprise to me. I honestly wasn’t sure what I would think of it- it’s out of my “normal” genre.. I mean, I do love dystopian but I normally stick to contemporary/NA romance..
Listen to me carefully- I DON’T CARE WHAT YOU THINK YOU LOVE TO READ- YOU WILL LOVE THIS SERIES.
If you like an amazing storyline & phenomenal writing- look no further.
Purgatory is Hell on Earth. Those who live there have learned survival when the world was at it’s worst. Eagle does whatever it takes to survive. He’s ruthless, broody, and all alpha male… and I love him.. Hard.
Autumn is brought to Purgatory against her will. She’s wild and untamed and wants no part of “mankind.” Her survival has been a lot different than those living in purgatory.
I immediately liked her. I knew as hard as Eagle was- it would take a “harder” woman to catch his eye.
To me, this book was better than TTB.. I’m sure it was because although this is a post apocalyptic story of survival and learning to live once the world as we know it had ended, this is a love story. And no matter what the setting, I LOVE a love story. Sure it had the Sheehan style romance I’ve grown to love and while I’ve not read Riley’s books outside of her co-writing- I’m a fan. I’m a fan of any author who can write with another author as strong as Sheehan and it flow together as well as these two co-write.
So again let me reiterate… If you loved Sheehan’s Undeniable series- YOU WILL LOVE THIS. It has the same gritty, raw feelings and while the story is completely different- I loved it just as much.
I want to leave you with one of my favorite quotes from BBB. I just thought this quote was so …. real.
“”Dying was a messy painful business for most, but not nearly as painful as living was.”
HUGE five star read for me. GO RIGHT NOW AND BUY IT!!!!
