My Review

Finally we have the last of the Pierce family story… I was most excited for Tristan as he was more of the loner brother.  He was happy to just be in the background more doing his own thing.  But what intrigued me the most was the relationship between him and Sydney through the other books.  You know something is there and I had a good idea what I thought it was going to be…

I love the push and pull between Sydney and Tristan.  Sydney was a strong woman.  A single mom who worked her way up from nothing, to wanting a bigger role in Pierce Brothers.  She’s deserved it and the brothers were quick to agree that she earned it.  Well that is except for Tristan.  I wanted to smack him and hard when he acted so petty about Sydney’s presentation to them for her promotion.  But Tristan was made to give in and quick by his brothers.  Tristan wasn’t around to watch Sydney grow through the company the way the others had.  So he had to put his personal feelings aside and be the bigger man in this situation.

But the fireworks were only just about to start.  Tristan and Sydney had long unresolved feelings and they were about to explode!  Not to mention Sydney had a secret she’d been keeping for years from the Pierce family.  But her and Tristan’s passion and love for each other was a beautiful thing to watch unravel.  Getting past the hurt and the pain of the way things unraveled for both of them when they were younger, Tristan being under the thumb of his overbearing father, and she needing to stay close for family sake.  They were just leading different paths.  But when Sydney suddenly announced she was getting married, it broke Tristan’s heart, even if he had left her.

Up to the point where Sydney revealed the secret I was totally in love with this story.  I was glued to the pages.  But after that point, I really lost all the love I had for Tristan and I was a little disappointed in the way that he was portrayed and behaved.  It was a turn off for me.  I know this hurts my heart in more ways then one to say, but I am just being honest.  I didn’t like the path he took.  In the end, I did adore their relationship but just didn’t love that final path to the HEA. For me it was a bit over the top and almost rude in a way….  I got it totally a secret like that was something that was shocking, I just didn’t like the forceful direction his character took after the reveal.  Y’all I love Jennifer Probst books with MAD LOVE.  I have read just about everything she’s ever written.  This one just fell a little short to me in the last few chapters.  It was still over all a great read, just not my favorite.  But that won’t stop me from recommending or reading everything she writes… This whole series was truly frabjous!!!!! Just a little disappointed in this final one.  I cannot personally wait to see what she comes up with NEXT!!!!!
